Josef's Table - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant is a true gem in a little shopping Center in Boca Raton. Service was attentive, the food was prepared beautifully. Appetizers of PEI mussels were delicious and beet and goat cheese salad VG. My Wiener Shnitzel was perfectly done and tender. Loved the spätzle and red cabbage. My friend had the trout and she enjoyed it. Desserts equally good. Great deal for $38.95 for 3 courses.
Service was pathetic. Took 20 minutes for server to come to table for drink order. House white wine was not available, more expensive one was available. Took 10 minutes for server to return to table with order. Entree took 30 more minutes to arrive. Too bad. Used to really enjoy the restaurant. Heard that they are closing in April.
We waited 10 minutes to be seated. The seater was nowhere in sight. A couple came in just as the seater was about to greet and seat us . She told them to follow us. She directed us to a table, and then proceeded to seat them with Menus. We had to wait another few minutes til she walked by our tables to ask for Menus. I watched her in the restaurant and she was more interested in a waiter of the same persuasion then the front door. In spite of the good food and waiter, I will not go back.
It is always a special experience when dining here as the food is always very fresh, well prepared and beautifully presented. The wine, The Riddler, is my favorite red blend by the glass. The service is gracious although it always seems to take a long while. It's always worth waiting for, so what's the rush, right??
Love this little gem.
Food was only warn when it arrived at the table. We have dined there many times ,today for us was not up to their usual standards. Service was very slow,an exceptionally long wait.Disappointing dining experience. We will try again hopefully with better results.
Josef's Table continues to provide good food at great value. Their $38.00 three course prix fixe dinner menu offers large portions of interesting choices.
The onion soup, mussels, scallops and fish are well prepared. The apple strudel and flourless chocolate cake are the best desserts.
The overall experience was very nice and the cost was reasonable. My only negative was that I ordered a $36 bottle of wine. A few minutes later the waiter came back and told me that they were out of that particular wine and offered a $44 substitute. I thought that they should have offered the substitute at $36 - but, they didn't.
Three out of the four dinners had to go back as they were overcooked. One dinner never made it back to the table despite the fact that we kept asking where the meal was. As everyone else was finishing, they brought it. Needless to say there was no more desire to eat it. They did deduct it from the tab.
Like this restaurant - have visited several times. Do not understand why it is difficult to get a reservation on Open Table when there were many tables available the night we were there. Tried several times before I was successful. Good for social dinner with friends.
Cannot believe I am the only one of my friends that has never dined there. What a wonderful, delightful experience. Service was friendly and attentive, presentation was great and food was perfectly prepared It will definitely be on the top of my list to experience again.
We were there for New Years - the food was quite good - but there were notable lapses.... things we asked for that were never delivered, like olive oil [for the bread], dressing for one of the salads, tea.... Since they were full and it was a very busy night, we won't hold it against them.
We'll be back [but maybe not for New Years Eve]...
