Our server was a little slow on getting our drinks, etc ... but aside from that everything was good. We're planning return visits!!
we made a last minute decision to book dinner there. It was a quite night but the service was good and the food very good. They had a spicy green chili that was more to my liking but not killer hot. My guest enjoyed their meals and the Marg's were worth drinking another.
You would get better Mexican food at taco Bell. I mean that as an insult but it's true. I'm pretty sure the food is fresher at Taco Bell. The salsa is watery, the guac was good. The burritos we had were tasteless and the rice and veggies were outside of the burritos. Why?? It's basically an enchiladas the way they give it to you. The service was ok at best. We would never go back there. Save your money and spare yourself.
Took awhile to get someone to seat us, no one working the front for at least 5 minutes. Food ok, prices good. nachos were great. Margarita was weak.
Jose' Muldoons is a family "all time" favorite. We love spending time with friends and family here and enjoy the food. Margaritas are good too!
Always the best Tex-mex in Colorado Springs many vegetarian choices. Great Staff and the Back of the House is the BEST.
Good Mexican/American menu, reasonable prices and service, nice downtown location!
The wait staff are great. Wonderfully helpful and friendly. Food was delicious.
Food was very good and portion size is just right. Our waitress did a very nice job. We would definitely come back again.
The food was not very good and took forever to arrive!!! Service was slow and inattentive. With so many places to pick from we won't go back!!
Fabulous meal that never fails to please in all the years I've eaten there, 6 yrs ago, 8 yrs ago and when I lived in town... several times a month. It's always been my choice restaurant whenever I'm in Colorado Springs for myself and to impress my guests. The best food on the front range.
Relaxing dinner, great food and service. Lively music and obviously a hotspot for locals.
Great place to meet up after work - Great food, Great people
Went to Jose Maldoons after a 40 year hiatus. Still there and still the same great margaritas! Service a little slow but food good and atmosphere what we remembered
I visit Jose Muldoon's often. This visit was at the downtown location which I don't often do and there was a big difference in service here. Our waitress seemed rude throughout our meal. I say she seemed rude as opposed to saying that she was rude, because it was a general attitude and the way she spoke to us that could possibly be interpreted differently. I am not sure it was her intent. However, it did not make for pleasant interactions with her. Having said that, the food was really good as usual. We went for Sunday Brunch and I had the Colorado omelet and my wife had the cheese omelet. Both were really good.
The food was pretty good here, nice and Tex-Mex. Unfortunately, the server just couldn't keep up and also entered three of our orders incorrectly. One we had to send back. Drinks were only refilled after asking twice. The server did try to make up for the issues by giving us free dessert and was very apologetic which helped a lot. Good food but could use better table management like how many tables one server gets to increase the service.
Food was ok. Husband had a combo platter with no complaints. I chose a grilled chicken platter with seasonal grilled vegetables and lime rice. Chicken was tender and juicy and very flavorful but vegetables were very mushy. Chips and salsa very good as well. Server was attentive but seemed to have multiple jobs. We were there at a quiet time so hopefully she had more help as the evening progressed.
A great place to dine before attending an event in the downtown area.
restaurant was ok and service was great but the food took a while to come and then my order had hair in it. Again the server was great, but it killed the mood for me.
There are better alternatives on all counts.
The restaurant was as advertised. Casual but great food. The meals we had were wonderful made with fresh ingredients and of high quality. We really enjoyed our time at the restaurant. If you are looking for a casual restaurant with high quality TexMex entrees this is the place to go.
We were there forever...took over 45minutes for appetizer. Should have been offered free desert :( expensive & small portions. Rude delivery staff
We were very impressed! The service was a little slow, but when we got the food it was incredible!! I was really happy that we decided to go there!!
Restaurant was just too noisy for us to visit with friends. Younger folks there seemed to be a lot noisier than we are used to.
I used to be into the downtown scene. I even lived there for a number of years. I moved a little north to raise a family and get away from the hustle and bustle that I like. Now the kids are older and we have been making dining downtown more of a weekly affair. I remember happy hour at Jose's to be quite a treat. The food is okay, not much different than what I remember. Nothing against that. The value is what I expect for a downtown experience. I love sitting out on the patio. We sat at the front patio. It was great. It wouldn't have made a difference if we sat at the back patio. But I gotta tell you the house margarita was horrible. I don't remember those being that bad. We even ordered a second one just to make sure it was indeed that bad and it was. Next time I'll have a Coor's Light.
Always a crowd pleaser for Mexican food in the Colorado Springs area!
Just ok-nothing special. The service was good/fast, but the food was kinda bland. It's nice that they have happy hour on Saturday until 7 pm, so we got margaritas, but again, they weren't anything special.
Our early evening dinner was fantastic. Loved the downtown atmosphere. We especially appreciated the gluten free menu options. Our server was very knowledgeable about gluten free options and the kitchen would prepare almost anything from the menu, gluten free! Our food tasted sensational!
Great service, food and prices!
I needed to make a last minute reservation on a Friday night for 8 and they were able to accommodate. The restaurant was pretty loud. The food was ok, nothing special but it all tasted good. They were able to accommodate a vegetarian and gluten allergies.
Shauna was excellent!
Visited on a Sunday. Sat on porch which was pleasant. Server was very attentive and nice. Food was rather bland, beginning with the salsa. My husband and daughter both ordered dishes with the hotest green chili and found it with minimal heat. I ordered vegetarian enchiladas and while they had good ingredients, they too were bland. Would love to taste some fire roasted flavors, but none. Expected more from this place and it failed to deliver.
The chips and salsa are so good! The patio on a warm summer night is something special too. We have been coming to Jose Muldoons for years and will continue to for years to come.
I go here every Tuesday for Taco Tuesday. The tacos are pretty good and the house margarita's are awesome. Sitting on the patio is the best, but there's definitely a chance of getting burned.
The only complaint I have is about the hosts. Literally every time I go in they stare at me or they just ignore me until I walk up to them. Unless you're a cute dude, they'll state, "Can I help you." And if you ask for anything like a booth or sitting on the patio they'll get an attitude.
They "forgot" to put our group of five on the waitlist, so everyone that came after us went first. I've sat there while four hosts stood at the podium gossiping and their manager had to force some of them to clear tables, and they rolled their eyes and complained.
Honestly, I love this place. I'm a server and host, so I respect everything they do. But I also know not to act like a brat. All in all, I would recommend going. Just be warned about the hosts (there are like two nice ones).
After 43 years of employment in the restaurant industry I was thoroughly impressed with the attentive service and superb management. It was a great dining experience for me and 3 generations of our family ranging from 1.5 to 60 years old.
Food overpriced, not good. Service slow. Did not take coupon, sighting an exclusion not listed on the coupon. We came back to Jose Muldoon's because of our friends' invitation, but were sadly disappointed.
Great fish tacos. Server kept bringing chips when we didn't want them. Would return for drinks.
My husband and I love to come to the downtown location on Sundays for brunch and eat out on the patio in the sun.
I really enjoyed eating lunch at the Jose Muldoons in downtown Colorado Springs. The food and service were great! I also enjoyed that at this location, they played Spanish music which made eating there more authentic. Thank you.
We had an overall good visit to Jose Muldoon's. Our waitress was very friendly and did a great job with our kids. Food was great too. Only issue was that when we finished our meal and were ready to pay our bill, our waitress was no where to be found. With 2 little kids who needed to get to bed we had a low threshold for wanting to linger. My husband eventually went to the bar and paid there. It was an unfortunate end to an otherwise nice evening.
