We serve comfort food that celebrates our forefathers’s Mexican roots and the culinary traditions of the local neighborhood.

"Intentionally or not, with the opening of Jose and Sons the Ibarras have also created a gastronomic symbol for the cultural melting pot that our region is increasingly becoming."

"Painted around the base of the bar, in large block capital letters, are the words “HECHO EN RALEIGH.” I can’t think of a more suitable motto for a restaurant that embodies the best of our rapidly evolving local dining scene."

Our experience at Jose and Sons is always great! We visit the restaurant once sometimes twice a week and are never disappointed. The food is amazing! Amber was our waitress and always does an exceptional job! She is phenomenal and we have made it a habit to ask for her every time we dine there. Thanks to Jose and Sons for employing such awesome staff and making such delicious food!

A fabulous experience all around. Delicious food, innovative menu options, and a flawless execution of the "fusion" concept.

1st time for us, liked the eclectic offerings!
Brussels sprouts rocked as did the kale tamales. Margaritas were well done. Surprised how empty it was on a Wednesday evening.

We really enjoyed our visit! I had the gouda mac n queso with vegetables (which was amazing) and my fiancé had the chicharron and waffles (which he said was also amazing), along with a horchata drink special. The only negative is that we weren't given chips and salsa until we asked if they had some. I'm glad they asked; the chips were good!

Brunch was fantastic! The waffles and chicarrones was exceptional.

Our server, Cristopher, was outstanding; attentive, engaging, knowledgeable, and prompt.

Jose and Sons is our new favorite weekend brunch spot!

We went early on a Saturday. I suspect given the location in a downtown walkable cluster of restaurants and bars across from the train station that the people-watching would be good later on.
We ordered a selection of appetizers. Of particular note is the Pozole soup and the barbacoa - both are to die for. We also had the shrimp ceviche and the flautas, which were not bad either, but not to the level or spiciness of the others. If you bring a younger child, he/she will probably like the flautas. And dessert - the tres leches cake is very good, but very large. I recommend splitting it; we did between four people, and it was plenty.

I had a drink - their version of the Moscow mule, which I think includes tequila. It was good and flavorful, strong enough to know that it was alcoholic, but not to the point of undrinkability.

The only minor negative was that our waitress was said to be "busy" even though it was early and the restaurant was not full yet. She could have been a little more attentive. She forgot the chips and salsa, though in the end we had enough food and didn't really need them.

We enjoyed our meal very much. We especially liked the small plates option. Our waiter, Zach, was super--very personable and attentive.

I like much about Jose and Sons. I had almost decided to give up on the place after two prior visits resulted in very underwhelming experiences due mostly to wildly inept staff. On this trip I found the service was fine and the food quality was excellent. One extremely annoying thing - which is why I did not rate them five stars is that inexplicably the food portion of an item that myself and two members of my party regularly get has mysteriously been halved but the price has stayed the same. My recommendation, raise the price if you can't afford to make the product and sell it the way you have in the past. It was bizarre for all of us to order the Steak & Egg Sammy and discover it is now served on a piece of ciabatta bread 1/2 the size of the last visit. This was the case for everyone at the table so it was not some odd one-off experience.

Menu is varied and gives a range of options for everyone. I feel like they used to have more brunch options but the waffles are still the best thing on the menu. Service was great and drinks were well made.

Jose and Sons is a fantastic local restaurant with fresh local ingredients. The food is phenomenal. The decor is lovely, but is open so can get a bit loud at times. The service is usually spot on, however our server seemed a bit distracted this visit. I love this restaurant and always enjoy the food!

We went for brunch on Sunday and everything was amazing! We would have been satisfied with just their chips, salsa, and homemade guacamole. Our table got the plantainwich, the juevos rancheros, the bacon & egg quesadilla, and the flautas - everything was legit incredible. We all said we'd get what we ordered again, but would also want to try something new because everything on the menu looked tasty! Definitely not your traditional Mexican; familiar dishes, but with their own special twist. Highly recommend and we'll definitely go back!

I hate to leave a bad review because I feel like I'm in the minority's on this one, but we visited Jose and Sons after hearing rave review after rave review. Unfortunately, not one item was particularly good. The huevos rancheros were okay, the pork belly waffles were neither salty, nor savory, nor sweet enough so I'm not sure what category they were supposed to fall under. It was all quite disappointing.

Very pleased with our brunch at Jose & Sons! We made a reservation for 11:30 am, but didn't really need it for that early an arrival. The food was excellent and a bit out of the ordinary (waffles with cracklings and soft boiled eggs for me.) Our server was very friendly and informative; the space is tastefully decorated, not garish; and the tab was not outrageous for an upscale Mexican restaurant.

Didn’t like that we were sat in the middle of everyone despite many tables being open. Good service but somewhat slow. Food was really good, highly rec the flautas!
