The last two times we have booked via open table, the restaurant says we didn't have a reservation. They still provided a table, although The food was not good. We were disappointed because we usually like to go before the opera. We will be looking elsewhere.

Seemed like an off-night, maybe not enough people in the kitchen. Staff was super nice and working hard. No hostess though, so long wait and long line to get seated. And food took almost a hour to come out which is really tight if you're headed to a show. Food was pretty good. Quality of fajita steak was noticeably better than average. Great frozen margarita. And a very short walk to the Winspear.

Been here twice. Both times the service was sketchy. The management doesn’t have its act together. Had to ask for silverware twice and finally had to grab it off another table. Huge line to get in while we were eating and tables weren’t being cleared. People all around us were upset at the poor inattentive service. We were so glad to leave his place and won’t ever return! Our waiter was totally clueless.

We’ve been to Jorge’s many times but very very disappointed last night. It was crowded and noisy. Even those with reservations waited. But table service was the worst I’ve ever seen it. Drink refills were non existent. My order was completely wrong - I got quesadillas and was brought fajitas instead. Staff would disappear for long periods of time. Food was ok but after all the struggles, I was just put off by the whole experience. The table next to us couldn’t even get silverware.

We've been here before; it's the most convenient place to get dinner before a show at Moody Performance Hall. We were apparently forgotten by wait staff, and despite flagging down other waiters several times, it was half an hour before we were approached to take our orders, and well over an hour before we had our food. The food was decent, but we had to eat in a rush to make our show.

We had a reservation here before our show. There were many tables and booths open but with menus which means they are reserved, according to the host. We were seated at a table with a menu, as we also had a reservation. However, since we were 15 minutes early, we were told we could not have a booth because those were for the people who had reservations and were 15 minutes late. The entire wall of booths was empty with menus on it. What?!? They all were running 15 minutes late? Why couldn't one group of these people sit at our table and we sit at their booth?

Unfortunately, my disability isn't visible so it isn't often taken seriously, but it makes sitting in a chair very uncomfortable for any length of time. I can do it, but given the opportunity to not, I take it. So, we didn't sit in a booth, we sat at a table. Two booths remained empty the entire time we were there, by the way.

They were very busy, but the other customers seemed to be attended to while we waited and waited for our order to be taken, our food to arrive, refills, etc. People around us were also getting the wrong order. Once we got the food it was just ok. Nothing special. I certainly would not go out of my way to go to this restaurant again and wouldn't advise anyone else to do so either.

We love to go to Jorge's prior to performances in the Arts District. "The Great Society" at Dallas Theater Center is AMAZING ... Just like Jorge's Food!

Location is so great. Unfortunately, this was the least inspired Tex-mex I’ve had since the 80s or maybe in some rural diner more recently. On the good side, their mediocrity means you can get a table on busy nights.

Friendly service, relaxed location, convenient to Arts District venues, easy parking, wide menu choice from light fare to full meals, very reasonably priced, superb margaritas.

We had dinner here before attending event at the Winspear. We had a reservation but they didn’t have a table for us inside. We sat at the bar because of time constraints. We had good service so no complaints there. Food was decent with the shredded chicken enchilada as the highlight. The location is perfect for Arts District pre and post dinners - very walkable.

We enjoy this place. Chips and salsa re great. We tried deluxe especiale, shrimp Diablo and fish tacos. All were excellent. We will be back. The $6 parking validation in the 1 arts plaza lot is a nice benefit of dining here.

Busy on a Saturday evening. Food was good, not exceptional. Similar to Uncle Julio’s or La Hacienda.

I've never had a bad meal or experience at Jorge's. The waitstaff is always fun and accomodating, and the food is always terrific!

Very disappointed in my entree...it was a salad bowl with very paltry amount of ingredients -which was not in line with cost. I did not send back or make an issue as we were under a timeline to get to a theatre performance. Based on this experience, it is unlikely that there will be a return visit.

Arrived a little before 6, were seated immediately. Waitress brought menus and requested drink orders quickly. We made it clear to her that there would be three checks, and indicated clearly who would be on each check. Only two cocktails were ordered, they arrived promptly. The cocktails were $8 each and had little if any alcohol. Tasted like unsweetened lime snow cones. She completed food order at 6:23, and again we clarified who was on each check. It was obvious she was not listening and we commented among ourselves: "get ready for wrong orders and checks". The food arrived at 7:29, 1 hour and 6 min after order was taken, 1 hr 29 min after our arrival. One guest ordered beef relleno. She brought him chicken and announced to him that they were out of beef so she brought chicken instead, without asking. It was either a lie because she got the order wrong, or she was just a bad waitress. There was no time to reorder or even really complain. Our show started in 30 min. None of the food was remarkable, just typical texmex stuff, and it hardly mattered since we had to scarf down what we could in minutes. We asked for checks. They came 10 minutes later, all incorrect, all jumbled up. She took them back but they were still incorrect, because she did not listen in the first place. By the way when we arrived the place was full. for the last half hour before we got our food, the place was empty, no reason for food delay. Everyone else had left for their events. Next time we have an event in the arts district we will eat anywhere but Jorge's. Such an Arts District Disappointment. Would sure love to have that two hours back and my money back on those two lousy cocktails!

Food was great, but the service was a bit slow. They appeared to be under-staffed. This restaurant is within walking distance to many Arts District theaters, and many folks come here prior to shows. The management should know this and should staff the restaurant accordingly around these peak times. It appeared that the restaurant only had 2 or 3 waiters, and the restaurant was full of folks wanting a quick dinner prior to their show. We were able to get our food in time to make the show time, but it was quite a rush and we had to reminder our server several times that we had a short timeframe before we needed to leave.

The food was really good and we would definitely come back.

Oscar was great, but he seemed to be one of only two Servers tonight. We’ve been here many times, but this time JORGE’s were not running on ‘All Cylinders.’ The food is good, but they need to hire more Servers.

I gave it a 3 overall because of several things: First, when we arrived (having made reservations on open table) we had to wait at the host/hostess stand for about 5 minutes before anyone showed up. I mentioned this to a waiter and he indicated they would be there soon. We were initially set at a small table by the kitchen door and when I requested to move they gave me some issue when there were a number of acceptable open tables. We were eventually allowed to move. The waitress was very good, but clearly over worked. The restaurant was clearly understaffed. It was a pre theater performance, but that is where they are located. It took about 5 minutes for our waitress to arrive and we got one of the two glasses of water. We ordered our food and margarita and they both arrived at the same time (relatively quickly overall especially given everything else.) The food was good. I had the nachos and my date had the chile rellano and they were both good. The margarita was of poor quality. We both agreed on that. I initially had a three on service because I know the waitress was working like crazy to serve too many tables, but I dropped it to three because of the clear understaffing issue.

The restaurant operates in the Dallas theater district, so many diners are going to the theater. This restaurant continuously operates with insufficient staff during the pre-theater dining period. This staff situation creates an element of chaos and inefficiency.

Both dinners were well prepared, served hot and tasty. Initially, we were being seated at a small table near kitchen exit but the host let us choose a cozier spot with a booth seat.

Service has gone downhill over time. Examples include empty drinks with no refills, empty salsa bowls (even after asking multiple times for refills) and very little effort on the part of the server to keep an eye on how things are going. I have ordered dishes containing chicken multiple times, and consistently find chicken bones in every dish. None of that makes me feel very happy to return soon.

The service was very good, the food was exceptionally good and different (not like all the other just-likes), the ambiance was attractive and the noise level was low so one could carry on a conversation without screaming.

Fajitas were not seasoned at all. Host was rude $$ would never go again

Before reserving, read all the reviews since I'd had good personal recommendations but the score was lower than I'd have expected...I noticed a number of the complaints were relative to service the night of nearby shows. I was in the area for a concert at the Meyerson (Winspear was dark) and it was a Monday night so I decided to risk it and am glad I did so -- we had an amazing meal and excellent service. The grilled relleno (naked) with beef was outstanding (the largest poblano I've ever seen!), and my friend really liked the spinach/bean tacos (and appreciated multiple vegetarian options). Lovely cocktails, including a margarita with Eldeflower. Our only (minor) complaint was we felt the pricing was a tad high - it's not often we go over $50 for Mexican food.

Jorge's is the BEST place to eat when heading to a show in the Arts District. They even have FREE parking in One Arts Plaza. Great food and free parking ... what's not to love?

Great for a pre-theater dinner at the Wyly or Winspear. Valet park at the venue, walk to dinner and then back for your event. Jorge’s easily gets folks in/out in time for curtain. And the food’s always good!

The busboy took great care of us, but the waitress was terrible. Waited over 35 minutes to place our food order, couldn't leave because we had tickets at Winspear and there is not much else around. When the food came out, it was undercooked and inedible. Do not recommend to anyone!

Waitress was very rushed and did not seem to understand English well enough to take our order correctly. She brought the wrong drinks, even though we repeated the order three times. We were overcharged $45 which we did not pay. It took 15 minutes to get a manager to come over to the table, which made us late to our performance. This is the third time in a row I have had a bad experience with this restaurant. Each time, there did not seem to be a qualified manager on duty, but was being run by the wait staff. This place used to be one of my favorites, but now I am embarrassed to invite my friends. The food is only average, so why go back? What's up with you guys????????

Food was, as usual, very good! Again the service, not so much. They are just so much busier
now with all the Winspear traffic and there not being very many close places to eat before the
performance. It is very noisy and after the waiter moved a table around, it was very crowded.
Was never asked if I wanted another drink and had to flag down wait staff to actually get the
first one delivered.

Food is always great. Over the last 2 years service has gotten really bad. It shouldn't be hard for them to know when there are events at the performance venues down the street. There is always a crowd before curtain on those nights about an hour and a half before showtime. Yet, that seems to be the one time service is always late. This time our waiter was working with the hostess trying to acquire as many tables as possible. He had so many none of them were getting served and I heard the 3 tables around us complaining as we were. We waited 45 minutes without getting food. We finally told him to either cancel it or pack it to go. It still took another 15 minutes to get it and pay our tab. We made our show but our dinner sat in the trunk of the car until we got home afterwards. Management needs to get a handle on those nights with more staff, perhaps a limited menu, something to make it better for arts patrons.

Usually go here before theater performances because of the good food, reasonable prices, and quick service. The service has been terrible the last 2 times, with us having to request the check multiple times. When it does finally arrive, there are errors. Both times. We will be dining elsewhere from now on, which is unfortunate since Jorge’s has been reliable in the past.

The last time we were there, the service was very poor. We decided to give Jorge's one last try, and the service is much improved. Adequate staff to handle the pre-theatre crowd, and everything was handled correctly. Nice turn around!
