Excellent place, second time I visited and the food was again excellent! Ambience is really nice as well.
Ordered the seco de Cordero and aji de gallina. Both delicious!
I don't live in NY, otherwise I would definitively be a recurrent customer.
I have celiac and asked that everything be strictly gluten free. Something must not have been prepared correctly because I got very ill and short while after eating my dinner.
The food was very good, but the noise level bordered on intolerable.
The happy hour is especially great with great value pisco cocktails! We ate the ceviche, anticuchos, papas rellenas and lomo saltado - all amazing choices!
Food is good and the price is not expensive. It's difficult to find a parking spot in Long Island City but they have their small off street parking lot. It's fantastic!
Cozy restaurant with good Peruvian food. Recommended!
One of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. We love coming on Monday night for half-off bottle of wine. We've dined here over 5 times and brought guests. Each time, always great!
The space is well designed and comfortable. Really enjoyed the anticuchos and the chicha - a good option for well made Peruvian.
We had an exceptional meal at Jora. Great (and unobtrusive) service, great meal choices, very authentic Peruvian preparation. We'll be going back often to this LIC neighborhood treat.
Delicious food, dimly lit, great for a date night. Love the platain chips and sauce they start with. Will go again and again.
this is my 3rd time in this restaurant and I must said that the food is delicious and I am sure I will get back.
I loved all the plates we had, the octopus with the peian, the rib eye with tallarines verdes, and the picarones , the iced camu camu was delish too !! and the chirimoya ice cream, the best of the best !!!
The appetizer menu and entree menu needs more of variety and more options.
As a Peruvian I have to say that Jora has amazing authentic Peruvian food, and Amazing drinks. The service is excellent, all the staff is nice and willing to help you.
I loved everything about this place. Can't wait to come back.
Food all created to perfection and plated expertly - desserts especially mouth-watering! Pisco cocktails are also on point, and ambience perfectly ties together a overall fantastic restaurant experience.
Arroz con pollo had incredibly tasty rice
All my meals have been great here. Favorite is the shrimp butternut dish .
Sangria and food was good. The only critic I have is there was only one server for lunch and he was overwhelmed. He was doing everything and we weren't the only people.
The food and plating were excellent! We were not too happy with the waiter. We repeatedly asked for water, had to ask for plates and utensils after appetizers, did not want to request a food change, did not clean table before dessert. However, that can be changed with more training/ better manager. I was not happy that the gratuity was included due to the amount of people. Perhaps if the waiter knew he had to earn his tip, he might have been better. We would return because the food was so delicious!
Jora was fantastic , food amazing ambience great service Caroline was the best !!
Great food and great ambience. Loved the ceviche!
I've been to plenty of Peruvian restaurants in the city and this is by far the best of them all. Everything is made fresh on site - Chicha Morada, Rocotto sauce, etc... When you ask for 'spicy' it is actually spicy, not the American version of spicy which is bland at best.
Wonderful food, welcoming, friendly, informative and efficient staff, handsome decor, and, in a neighborhood where a parking spot is very hard to find, they have off-street parking. My only complaint is that the noise level is a bit high.
Great place to eat
The food was excellent...I recommend the octopus app and the braised lamb shank as well as the mussels. Service was excellent and the vibe was pleasant.
Great food, best pesto spaghetti
Th waiter was very knowledgeable about the entire menu, and gave us detailed information on the selections we were making. The food was excellent from the salad and seafood soup we had as appetizers, to the entrees we ordered. Menu was not flexible, but all came out very good. Prices were pretty moderate. Would definitely do it again.
Had a great time here! Looking forward to the next visit.
Service is great food delicious restaurant decor is pretty
Ceviche and causas are delicious !!
This is a nice modern Peruvian restaurant in Long Island City. While I found the loud children a bit much when we entered, for an 8:30 reservation, they soon left with their parents, making the whole experience a lot more pleasant. The food is wonderful, and creative, for what it is. The portions are a bit on the large size, but most people prefer that. The price point is exactly where it should be for the quality and quantity of what you get.
The family enjoyed the food served. Fresh food and delicious. Great service
Every time guest comes to visit me in long island city, I take here and never fails to impress! Try the lamb or the butternut squash shrimp which sounds weird but is amazing!
Creative cocktails, fresh and delicious food and excellent service. And parking available was a plus. Raul, our server, gave wonderful recommendations and added to our dining pleasure. Thank you, Raul.
This place has a beautiful space, and although it is romantic and somewhat formal, it was also somehow low-key and unintimidating. The menu includes a lot of beef, but we tried the lamb shank (enormous!), octopus (delicious!), and squash stew with shrimp (something like exotic comfort food). The cocktails were fabulous, especially ones based on pisco, and when we asked for some kind of hot cocktail for a friend with a cold, they came up with an outstanding juicy concoction that fit the bill perfectly. Service was great and prices were pretty reasonable for New York, especially given the portion size.
The food is excellent and delicious, this restaurant is a real gem, high quality food and very flavorful. Drinks are delicious too.
Great food, slow service. Very loud ambience
We had a wonderful time at Jora. The food, atmosphere and service was excellent and it was truly food we have never had before. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It was such a treat.
We ordered 3 entrees from the standard menu. Octopus, skirt steak, and a fish entree. All were yummy, but the octopus was our fav! Drinks were good too, but a little pricey. The strawberry one was yummmmmyyyyy.
This is my fourth time visiting Jora and the last time I went was for a Valentine's Day dinner. Made reservations for 6:45 and got there a little bit earlier so we were able to get seated really fast. I mean, there's really not much to say except that it seems the service and food just gets better and better every time I visit. We started off with our all-time favorite, the anticucho and had one of the specials they had with squid-ink dressing that was just phenomenal. My boyfriend got one of the flank steaks and I got the lomo saltado. Both were fantastic but mine was extra special. The service was impeccable as always.
