Strange experience as the host/manager did not actually greet us or speak when we arrived and just handed menus to another hostess?/manager? Who brought us to our table (she was pleasant) We then sat for over 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us and finally the table next us was sat and a server greeted them and when she turned around we caught her eye and she finally approached our table. The food was delish, but we barely saw our server. Even when she took the check there was no “have a nice night!” Or even eye contact. It was like we were invisible. Bizarre and definitely not what we are accustomed to from a Starr Restaurant.
Took work team for dinner. Perfect change of scenery at the end of the day.
The shrimp and grits was delicious. Our waiter Shayne was very professional and took excellent care of us. The manager visited the table and ensured we enjoyed everything.
Atrociously loud music. Asked for a different table then the one we were taken to. Pointed to an empty booth. Was told that seats six, not four. We took the less than comfortable table only to the see a party of 4 seated in the booth we asked for. I guess you have to know somebody.
Atmosphere was good! Chicken and waffles were soooo good! Can’t wait to go back.
Been here several times. The food has always been great and is a sure thing. Consider Jones to be an easy "go to" place...
Service was not up to usual standard. Noise level was distressingly high, possibly because the music was loud and people had to talk even louder to be heard.
Thanks for the hospitality Olivia & for the birthday cookie for my best friend!
Amazing homestyle cooking food! Large portions. We have 3 kids who ate and loved it! It was noisy, which was perfect for the kids (no one staring at us lol). Definitely recommend the grilled cheese and tomato soup, yum!
Great service on Saturday before a theater matinee. There were so many menu items that looked good, I found it hard to choose. I had the Salmon Tartine, excellent. Great taste combination. Good alternative to eating a heavy bagel with salmon which is also on the menu. Also tried the Monkey Bread which was shared between 4 people. It was just enough to each be satisfied with this sweet bread treat. There are more menu items I would go back to try.
If you are seated on the 1st floor, the ceiling is extremely high so the decibel level (noise) is something you definitely have to get use to. When you first sit down, it is one of the first things you notice. You must speak very loud to communicate.
There is loft seating on a 2nd level. The sound would be less exaggerated if seated up there.
I do recommend giving JONES a try.
Fun, great food, wonderful service
Jones was absolutely amazing! From the service to the food. We tried as many plates as we could and still will be going back for brunch and lunch. There wasn’t anything I could speak on negative. The managers and servers made us feel like we were welcomed and at home. Jones has a patron for life in me and my family. I am so excited my event will be hosted here.
We always go to Jones before the theater. It is our go to place.
Our server was incredible!!!
Went for happy hour. Thoroughly enjoyed the drinks and food. Bartender was pleasant and accommodating. I will definitely return.
The restaurant was clean and hostess accommodating.
The salad was very salty in addition to the other food.
Over salted overall.
The portions were too large.
Clean restaurant and attentive waitstaff.
Freezing in restaurant
Very comfortable and the food was delicious
Yes everything was amazing couldn’t have asked for a better experience
I enjoyed the ambiance. I feel like the menu was a bit limited. I was looking for the menu to include Chilean sea bass or Branzino. Otherwise I enjoyed the experience.
My second visit. Lots of comfort foods. Great location. Service was par excellence both times. Have an adult milk shake-you won’t be disappointed. One of the few cross generational restaurants where the noise level is LOW and you can carry on a conversation without shouting. I love Jones!!
Great service. We went during peak brunch hours on a Saturday. Although we didn't feel like we were waiting for a long time for our orders, the manager came to our table to let us know that our fried chicken-related orders would take a bit longer and offered complimentary tater tots. The chicken was definitely saltier than expected, but overall cooked to perfect tenderness. The shrimp and grits were amazing. Would come again for the value and service, but just order something else besides the fried chicken.
We have been to Jones many times. Disappointed the menu is currently limited. Did away with their "make your own salad" feature. I always looked forward to it. Menu needs to offer some seasonal specials to make it less boring and more enticing to repeated dinning. Thanks!
The place is close to the historical park and a good place to stop for food while visiting the Liberty Bell. It is good for families and the food value is very good.
Took the family there before seeing a play at Walnut Theatre. The service was amazing and food was pretty good but pricey for what you get. I would go back.
Everything was great! Food was sooooo delicious!
Nothing special here, will not be back.
Nice restaurant, really helpful servers. The food is generally good, though the choices are limited, especially after a few visits when some items are identified as non-repeaters. I wish there were more vegetarian choices. The soup and grilled cheese sounds great, but in fact, the cheese is ultra-bland.
Excellent service and very good food. Prices were reasonable. The only negative was the noise level.
Food was excellent! Fun time!
Funky retro vibe. Nice for a pre theatre dinner. Our family all have different tastes and thought it was a wide range of classic dishes with a few surprises here and there, such as the tuna with coconut rice.
My small glass with a shot of vodka and orange slice was cracked and they took it and instead of giving me a fresh shot, they just poured it into another glass. Duh
The zucchini frites are like crunchy potato chips. All breading. When I think of "frites" I think of a long potato like a french fry. They were very tasty, but not what I would expect. I think even a child who would hate green vegetables would probably eat them thinking that they were just potato chips.
The hummus platter was plentiful and very good.
Pre-theatre Birthday dinner.... food was very good! Great hummus ! Wait staff was super attentive .... we would definitely go back .... oh, and the Blondie for dessert.... soooo good !!
Our server was a bit too attentive -- we felt rushed. Annoying.
Great ambiance and service! Food was awesome, but some items a bit pricy. If you have your tickets for Walnut Street Theatre you will a free chocolate cake and milk for dessert!
Too noisy; felt rushed ( food came too quickly after appetizers; poached eggs not done properly; plate covered with greasy, unappetizing tasted tots. Ugh.
Shag carpet on second floor was filthy.
The chicken and waffles is my sole reason for coming to Jones and it has never disappointed. Maybe one day I'll try something else, but it's hard to depart from guaranteed bliss.
My fiancé and I were treated wonderfully. Waiter was prompt and attentive and thoughtful. Manger even offered us a celebratory drink. The experience was great
Great experience overall just a little underwhelmed.
Would have been 5 stars but the air conditioning was so cold it was hard to enjoy brunch
