Jones has good service and delicious food. My only complaint was the noise level. It was difficult to have a conversation with members of my party.
Although I had a reservation, still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated and there is no place to sit down to wait. The restaurant is very noisy; no conversation possible. The best thing about jones is the comfort food offered and it is delicious.. Service was great although we ordered a salad for the table but plates took a while to arrive. Also dessert came a little slower than I would have liked.
Was not as impressed with Jones this time around. Dirty silverware, plates, and bathrooms soured the experience. (We were there when they opened on Saturday at 9:30am so I figure the bathrooms were not cleaned after Friday night). Food was good, bottle to mix your own mimosas was a great value and complement to meal. Waiter was super attentive and patient.
probably not, too many other good restaurants at more reasonable price close by
Food was good. Service was prompt. Prices were right for center city lunch
My brother and I had lunch and we were blown away by how delicious everything was. We will definitely be back! Keep up the amazing work!
The chicken and waffles dish is incredible. The chicken is very juicy and tasty. The waffle is big; crispy outside and soft inside. The dish arrived at the table looking great. No traces of oil (which is a turn off for me) anywhere. Outstanding service too.
Jones is all about comfort food. Mac & Cheese, Thanksgiving turkey dinner, fried chicken etc. The food was hot but needed more flavor. I would go again but for lunch not dinner.
Not impressed at all. Dirty plates all over the tables as 5, yes literally 5 people huddled around the small front hostess stand. We waited for them all, including the manager, to stop chatting and bus the tables so we could be seated. Waitress was not very interested in serving us and food was fine but nothing exceptional. I expected more from a Starr restaurant. Would not go back since there are so many other fine choices in the city.
The food is usually excellent. However, I tried the Tuna Tacos for the first time. There were only two small tacos and they did not taste that great. I have been to Jones many times, and this is my least favorite dish. Also, our waitress could have been a little more attentive. We were celebrating a birthday and we usually receive a complementary desert with a candle. She dropped the ball this time.
Jones never fails to impress me! I messed up, BIG TIME, I had made a reservation for the following week, and had 4 kids under the age of 9 with me! The staff was so accommodating, did not make me feel like a bother, and were able to get all of us seated with minutes, even though it was crowded! Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and did not bat an eye when she saw all the children! The food was great and it wast just a perfect experience! Thank you!
Jones is the perfect spot for weekend brunch! Laid back casual dining with exceptional service and delicious food. Our waitress recommended the special, a banana bread gift from the heavens and she was absolutely right about how delicious it was. Only drawback was noise level which got louder throughout the meal but that only evidenced how everyone there was enjoying themselves.
Zucchini frites are incredibly unique and tasty- hard to decide which sauce is better, they are both so good. Tuna entre was great. Meatloaf was interesting in the way that there is something a little sweet in the beef that reminded me of a Swanson's Salisbury steak TV dinner. Took me back to the 70s being a kid...
Food was medium. But ok for overall value. Place was noisy and then music was trying to drown out kids and adults. Not very pleasant.
The was our first experience at Jones but have eaten at most other Steven Starr restaurants. We were seated upstairs which was good in some ways, not in others. There isn’t much to see bc you can’t see over the wall from your low cushy booth seat. So it felt like we were eating in a hallway. The upside is, the music was so loud downstairs that it was probably easier to talk upstairs (where you still heard the music but it didn’t seem as loud). The service was good. The food cake very very quickly. So luckily I had the good sense to not order appetizers and entrees at the same time or else we would have eaten within 1/2 hour. The tuna taco app was very good...spicy. The calamari was excellent too. My husbands burger was cooked perfectly. My only complaint about my turkey club was that they put a pickle in the plate that was soaking wet and it ran and made my sandwich toast completely soggy. That is a very amateur mistake. So half my sandwich was ruined. The drinks are not very good and the wine is meh. The Rose Maria drink tasted like something I would clean my floors with. The Pinot Grigio was fine, nothing in would usually drink but whatever. This place is ok. I wouldn’t race back but I wouldn’t fight it if someone wanted to go. I would rather hit the Continental if I was looking for a great turkey club and a good drink.
All around a great time and dining experience.. food, service and ambience all a win.. we’ll be back for sure!
Jones has really gone down hill. We used to go often several years ago, but hadn’t been in awhile until tonight. The first red flag was when we walked into the restaurant and it did not appear busy at all. This restaurant used to be packed with not a table ever empty. The menu has also changed a lot. They got rid of some great staples like the pierogis as a starter, as well as the custom salads where you’d create your salad on a little clipboard. I used to always get the turkey club several years ago which was delicious, but tonight when I ordered it, it was just a basic turkey sandwich on bread that was never toasted. It was also very clear the sandwich had been made earlier in the day and just sitting there, since the bread was soggy. The turkey club used to also come with homemade potato chips, and now it was clear they’re just serving Lays potato chips. Very disappointing experience in this restaurant we used to love.
Always excellent! Great service...fantastic food...all made for a wonderful lunch! Meatloaf for me...turkey dinner for my dining partner! We both left very satisfied!
We were disappointed they took off the calamari salad first off.The pot pie was delicious! The server was good but stopped by way to much!
Great service as always! Brenda is one of the best. In the winter, the grilled cheese and tomato soup is a must have.
We always enjoy the food and drinks at Jones, and the atmosphere is mellow but energetic. You made our birthday brunch so wonderful. We adore this place!
The food was great, the place was beautiful and the services was amazing.
Wait staff hover too much, but that is the manager's fault.
Door, Host staff are snooty...the way they say "do you have a reservation" is not always polite.
Jones remains our go-to restaurant for a fun dinner with family. It never disappoints.
Finally tried brunch at Jones and loved it! I've always had dinner or lunch and the restaurant never disappointed. I was glad to bring a friend who was new to Jones and we enjoyed our meal. If you plan to go during brunch hours, I'd make a reservation. We were glad we made one.
Been to Jones many times but this time was for brunch. It was absolutely delicious! My friends enjoyed building their bloody marys and I loved my hurricane drink! It was so yummy! Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. I am never disappointed at Jones!
Perfect place to get brunch. The food and drinks were delicious and our server was outstanding. Would visit again!
Meat loaf out of this world delicious.
We all enjoyed our dinner and cocktails at Jones. The salmon and crab cake dishes were delicious. One of us had the ahi tuna and commented how good that dish was also. We each had a cocktail and were not disappointed. Our waitress was attentive and did not rush us at all. Very good experience.
Beautiful dining area and fast service. The food was EXCELLENT but the best part were the desserts. Carrot cake, deep dish cookie, and peanut butter pie were life changing. Would go there again just for the dessert!
What a lovely surprise! We were not two "ladies who lunch," rather two old ladies having lunch, used to receiving not much attention from waitstaff, a lousy table, etc. But, we were welcomed warmly on a cold day, given a great table and cared for very well. Oh, and, the food was terrific. Grilled cheese with avocado and tomato soup - done to perfection. All the tables around us seemed equally happy with their choices - the meat loaf looked terrific.
One minor suggestion - serve the soup in a mug (I expected only a cup not a huge bowl) - easier to eat and I suspect less food will go to waste. You could even offer one refill for people who could actually manage both sandwich and all that soup.
Great place with good food and kid-friendly.
Also offers vegetarian options
I was able to get seating next to the fireplace like I asked ... not directly in front of it , but we were close ....
Food took over an hour to come out, while others around us got their meals much faster. Small portions, and quality was lacking for a Star restaurant.
our service wasn’t great. waiter wasn’t engaged with us, he was pretty boring in fact. food is just ok. portions are big, which is good and bad and taste is too rich.
My martini was watery.
The food is tired. I had tuna tacos: packaged hard tacos, wet cube of flavorless tuna, rusty lettuce, no spice. My companion had a burger: machine-made patty cooked in grease.
The server was friendly, but did not know when to offer what.
No one was in the restaurant when we arrived and the music and noise level was fine. Within 5 minutes the music volume was turned up so loud that little children were holding their ears.
Typical Starr restaurant that feels they must have the loudest music to be cool and create their vibe.
It's a shame that people complained and manager said " no one else thinks it's too loud!"
Couldn't wait to get out of there!
One of the watches brunches in the city! The bloody Mary’s are great because you can build it yourself. Personally, I like the bottomless mimosas the best because they give you a multiple juice options to make it what you want. Also, the food is fantastic.
Great experience and would recommend for any time of day!
Great place for brunch! Always a good time. Service and food were great
