Rubbery chicken. Rushed service. Mediocre place.
Really like dining there. Tables outside are terrific, burgers are delicious. Will try salmon next visit as I hear very good. Waiter was outstanding.
Service was good. Separation of tables was comfortable because dividers were in place. A bit pricey for drinks that were on the smaller side. And food was decent but nothing that was really outstanding.
Hidden British pub on the UES! Such a great spot. Food was amazing, highly recommend the chicken sandwich, so juicy and crispy. Will definitely be coming back!
guinness is very fresh
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite places for brunch. Love it!
Another nice brunch in their rear garden! English breakfast is the best!
Food always good, but there was only one heater. I know they are trying to get more, so once that
Good solid food in a very pleasant environment
Fun! very slow service for brunch but the secret garden in the back is the perfect spot to spend time outside with friends!
Good English breakfast if that’s what you want. No pancakes or waffles
Another wonderful experience at Jones Wood Foundry. Love the food, casual atmosphere, and our waiter Nathan was chipper and helpful.
Hidden gem in the UES! Friendly servers & unpretentious pub vibe w/ hidden back garden patio & front sidewalk dining. Indoor dining also available with very well-spaced tables at minimum (25%) capacity. Fantastic Scotch egg (perfectly crisped outer shell comprised of sausage w/ a spicy kick) & delicious Fish & Chips (perfectly beer battered fish with super tender, moist, flaky white fish inside!) served with triple cooked fries...so good! Burger w/ Stilton cheese also super tasty & well-prepared?
Wonderful food and service at Saturday brunch. Reminded me of pub food I loved when spent Much time in UK. Definitely would go back many times.
Was told there was a vegetarian pie , I checked twice before and I got there and the chef said he couldn’t make it. Almost no veggie options was hard to eat there as a vegetarian
Outdoor experience was awful. Server overwhelmed. Never served appetizer ordered, entree was wrong, requested drink replenish never came - just too overwhelmed. Need to manage controls. Server couldn’t even make eye contact when she dropped the check in our table - knowing how wrong it all was. Times are tough for the restaurants and guests . Will not spend my time here again.
While I initially missed doing my Open Table reservation correctly, the restaurant was able to seat us. The food was so o good and the experience so enjoyable we’re returning tonight! (Nov. 13)
Took a long time for food to arrive. Lovely atmosphere outside in garden. Tasty food.
Amazing food, quite and beautiful location, we loved the hidden garden and service was super attentive and gentle
Food, drinks, and atmosphere was phenomenal!
Fun British gastropub with great courtyard garden.
Seems like a small place in the outside, but is so beautiful and spacious on the inside! Great service, vibes, decor, and FOOD!! Definitely recommend the ricotta to start.
Neighbourhood gem with delicious food and great service. Outdoor dinning in the garden was perfect for maintaining social distancing .
Great food, great atmosphere. Will probably make this one of my favorite places in the city.
The garden is so cute and the food was great!
While the garden was nice, the food was very greasy and I actually had heart burn after eating. We had the big breakfast, French onion soup and scotch eggs. The big breakfast esp - everything was oily. I also had the sticky toffee and it was just okay - overly rum (or some kind of alcohol). Also another thing, they had that heater thing on the hall above seating area but my partner sat facing it and after dining and later on her face was red and red and it was because she was facing the heater thing even though at distance but after sitting for over an hour it could burn!! She quickly put some aloe Vera mask at night and she felt better. I would be very careful cos the heater thing doesn’t have those cover so the heat can be alarming. We are pretty sure it’s from the restaurant the burning sensation because we stayed indoor after the lunch so there’s no way she got the burn from the sun. I was sitting below the heater so wasn’t direct facing it. I’d say be cautious! Not sure that heater thing is safe!
Great food! Great ambience!
Great food and nice outdoor dining setup! A bit pricey but otherwise great.
We were there for brunch and although in pictures the backyard looks pretty good with few tables, in reality, it was full of tables literally touching each other with some shields in between but my feet hit the stranger next to me a couple of times or for example, there might be some of our adjacent tables food on ours from the openings around the shields. so NOT SAFE for Corona, serving COLD poached eggs and all in all, not a good experience at all.
• This place was fire
• We ordered the 'Welsh rarebit fondue' to start - The item we got didn't look like the picture from the website. The picture on the website looks super good, cheese melted on bread. We got bread with a dip on the side instead. We thought we got the wrong dish but were too nervous to ask because we already ate half cause we were hungry as frick.
• Burger & chicken sandwich were fire
Sincere effort to lease all under challenging conditions. Many thanks to the entire JWF team. Your hard work is truly appreciated.
We had a lovely lunch in the garden. Our waitress was very nice. There was only one problem.....they were jackhammering outside. It was SOOOOO loud. Not your fault but made the lunch very uncomfortable.
Nice place, good food, excellent attention, totally recommended
Amazing Sunday roast. Shame they ran out of gravy though and could only provide a small sprinkle per person, that’s tragic for a Sunday roast...
Excellent, super sanitized for Covid. Taking temperature, all the bells and whistle's to feel safe. Not to mention excellent food and drinks. Highly recommend
The service was outstanding, the food very good - though the poached eggs were undercooked.
Just make sure that you like dogs - during these Caronavirus times, we were the only table under the tent without a dog and the dogs were pulling on their leashes to both to get to each other and, in some cases, they came up to our table because of the smells. Everyone else seemed to find this entertaining - so depends on whether you would be one of them.
Had the choice to sit street side or in their garden. Chose the garden, wasn’t in the mood to hear street noise. The chicken liver fois goes pate appetizer- was amazing! My friend had the fish & chips. They were on point as usual. Great meal!
Salmon was delicious but it was a very small serving.
