So looking forward to coming here - has so much potential but the service was terrible. We waited just under an hour for our food (it wasn’t busy), the servers were totally disinterested - we could have easily walked out without paying had we been so inclined as they wouldn’t have noticed. I’ve never not tipped in a restaurant until our visit here.

Good food— but when the washroom door opens, the smell of cleanser fills the back room. Lovely meal, but I’d definitely do something to fix that. Thanks!

I think Thanksgiving dinner was a bad choice. Turkey was OK, but sides at 6 at night felt like they had been sitting in the oven all day. Impossible to cut or digest the roasted potatoes. Really a lot of glop on a plate. The appetizer of a butternut squash ravioli was actually good, if a little to cold. The roll was dry. Next year just close and let someone else do the cooking. The bar itself and space are very nice and I will return and try the regular menu which I have a feeling is better than this.

We were disappointed. The place is basically a upscale sports bar and we wanted a nice restaurant with calm ambiance to have a Thanksgiving dinner. We were not greeted when we got there and then the host seated the people who came in after us, even though we had a reservation. The staff seemed overwhelmed and once seated, our table wobbled about 2 inches and it took us 3 requests to get it stable. The music was too loud (Rolling Stone, Jefferson Airplane), and it was not a good place for a quiet dinner. We left and found a lovely restaurant, Parma Nuova on 3rd Ave. and 79 st. It was lovely there. So if you're looking for a pub scene you might find Jones Wood OK, but we thought the place disorderly and grating on our sensibilities.

Ughh this place used to be good, used to have good food ,and used to have great staff. What a fall from grace. Learn how to cook a carrot, your staff used to eat the food and give honest recommendations ....I don't think even the chef trust it....the carrots are too hard. They gave my dairy free son feta and the waiter tried to tell me no dairy , same with dessert, mistake after mistake and nothing made up for it. What did you do to all your old staff to make them leave....

Service was very slow and no follow through had to ask multiple times for things. I love the place and have been many times but service has really gone down hill, unfortunately.

Customer service was excellent but I do have some thoughts on the food. I had the Sunday roast - roast beef, Yorkshire pudding etc. It was warm at best. Only the roast potatoes were hot. The vegetables were undercooked and hard to cut. I noticed another diner having the same issue with the cutting them. I didn’t send it back because I had asked for a different glass of wine, the first tasting ‘off’ to me, so I didn’t like to send my dinner back as well but I have to say while I ate it, the temperature ruined the experience. Also the recipe for the sticky toffee pudding needs some thought. I suspect they are using molasses instead of golden syrup. The sponge was over cooked and heavy, and the sauce was bitter and verging on black. It was not sticky toffee pudding as I know it.

Our book club met last night and chose JW because the book took place in England and mostly in a pub. First time for all of us and we all agreed it was a great choice. Loved the atmosphere and even though we are “older” enjoyed the background music too. The food totally surprised us! We are all a bit picky and enjoyed each of the many dishes we ordered. Btw, don’t miss the chips (fries) some of the best in nyc. Enjoyed my first Earl Grey, 75, but the other women enjoyed everything from straight champagne to a beer on tap. What a fun place and happy to see it full when we were leaving.

Awful food and service. We were so disappointed and came a long way to try as we had been recommended by friends. The service was so slow from the start. We had booked a table weeks prior and they put us outside. After a very long wait our roast dinners they arrived cold, we told 3 staff and no one took them away or offered a replacement. 20 minutes after asking for the manager, he came over and asked if we’d like to have it reheated. They forgot our drinks. The list goes on. Don’t bother. 3 out of 4 of us left without eating.

Wonderful British-style pub combines a homey, rustic quality with casual elegance. Terrific menu and beer list. (Only slight complaint: I had to access the beer list with the QR app on my phone. Note to management: Just print the darned list out and distribute it with the menu.) Food was excellent; popovers and pies especially recommended.

Have been many times and have always loved it. This time the service was terrible the girl was not interested at all in service and it was not busy. Had run out roast beef which was my main reason for going. Chips were over cooked.

Good food amazing service. Loved our waitress. But our food took FOREVER. An hour passed and we didn't even have our starters. They gave us free drinks and bread to make up for it but still. We had plans and we're getting delayed.

The bar was lively on an early Friday evening. It took a bit to get the attention of the bartender although he was serving the folks on both sides of me… a big peeve of mine. Fish & chips were very good… shepherds pie a bit dry and underwhelming. Loved the vibe and the perfect draft pours. Bartender provided good service once I was acknowledged
