Foundry is beautifully historic and the most delicious beers!! I had one of each draft.
Love the Scottish Tennants. I think I may go have another now.🍺
Girls Brunch, everything was great - location, price, food. Happy to come back again for brunch!
The food was excellent but our server this time was preoccupied but she was nice. The food is so outstanding that if it wasn't that good I'd never go back again
First time dining and everything was lovely. Loved the fish and chips and the brussel sprouts. Will try other dishes when I return very soon.
Wonderful place with great food, atmosphere and service.
A toast to the new year! Wonderful food and service!
Food was okay. Server took our order and that was the last we saw of her until the check. Probably won’t be back.
New Year’s Eve was fabulous
They have a great beer selection and really good food! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants/bars in the Upper East Side!
Jones Wood Foundry is a great little pub on the UES. Food was exceptional!
We love Jones Wood Foundry and keep coming back.
Great food, homey ambiance. Authentic British fare.
We had a wonderful dining experience at Jones Wood Foundry. Our server, Eric, could not have been better. He was attentive, charming, and quite helpful. The food was delicious. Love, love, love! Can’t wait to go back!!
Great good and beverages!
We had our holiday dinner here with my colleagues to exchange secret santa gifts. I had requested outdoor seating to be COVID conscious which they were able to accommodate. We were seated in the back patio area, which is a great setting. We might have been the loudest table, so apologies to whoever was near us! The wait staff was amazing, checking in consistently. The food came out quickly, and was fantastic as always. The team was very pleased with the experience.
Love this place, go quite frequently and never disappointed
Their outdoor dining is COVID-friendly. Service is great and food is high-quality.
Excellent food, bevvies and service. It was quiet - being a Monday evening on the early side. Definitely will return often
Food was great, especially for the price. Will be back again!
Food was delicious and James our server is the best.
Passed by this place many time and finally had brunch. Service was very good and they have both outdoor and indoor dining options. Interesting menu - would like to see more options for Brunch but overall very good and will come back.
Everything was very good apart from the noise level.
We had the best time here last night celebrating a friend's birthday. The food is fantastic! The service is super friendly. Great atmosphere!
Great English pub food! All the standards plus more done very well. Staff is terrific. It's a great neighborhood place, but if I lived outside of the neighborhood I would travel for this place.
A quaint British pub and restaurant on the upper east side. Very cozy and inviting with an old world charm. Surprisingly excellent food. The onion soup with gruyere cheese and thyme was mouth watering and the crispy fish sandwich and sticky toffee desert were both delish! The only downside seated in the indoor space next to the outdoor area in the back: every time the staff opened the door, it was left open and we ended up feeling cold. I’d suggest replacing the door with a door that automatically closes each time someone goes through. Or else covering the door with a curtain. I’m sure a solution can be found so that that indoor space is more comfortable temp wise for diners. Everything else was great and we’ll be back soon!
Thank you, see you soon
With a British gastro flair, the Foundry proved, on my second visit here, that the kitchen knows what they are doing, and we were there on a Saturday at 12:30 so it was BUSY! Started with the Yorkshire pudding (popover) and tasty albeit a little spicy (which is unusual for) Scotch egg, Then the hubby had steak and eggs, which he described as delicious and perfectly cooked. I had fish and chips (please ask for malt vinegar. It's a sacrilege to not have fish and chips without) and it was fried perfectly with a light batter and flaky fresh cod. There's so much to chose from, I look forward to exploring the menu. Only downfall was the service; slow and inattentive (staff walked by our needing to be bussed table at least 8 times, and I've never been a fan of spectating dirty dishes).
We arrived on time for our reservation and promptly ordered drinks, appetizers and entrees. The drinks came at a reasonable time but the appetizers took about half an hour and the entrees another hour after that.
There were no appetizer plates so we either had to eat off our napkins or on the fly. Someone did apologize to say the kitchen was backed up, but the restaurant was not too full when we got there so we should have received our order sooner. The hot buttered rum was tasty but barely warm. The thrice cooked fries were not crispy at all. The rest of our entrees--fried fish, eggs Benedict and steak and eggs--were delicious. We also enjoyed the banofee pie and caramel tart. All in all, JWF is not a bad place to eat but certainly could use improvement.
I was excited to try this place, but it was just so so. My eggs over avocado toast were literally ice cold, the tea I ordered came with half a cup of hot water, they sat us outside which was kind of cool with heaters. We waited a long time to be served because they were busy so I didn't want to send anything back and wait even longer. The French Fries were amazing!
Very nice ambiance, excellent service and very good food. Very enjoyable experience!
Great find on the UES! As close to an upscale pub in Mayfair that you’ll find in NYC. Solid food, attentive and knowledgeable staff and good British drink selections (but no hard liquor FYI). Can’t wait to come for brunch!
When we first arrived the room was quite chilly, and we were at the very back of the restaurant. The heat level did go up until right before we left there was a rush of cold air through the restaurant. I would dine with you again, with a extra sweater
Our lunch was delicious and the service was great. We look forward to going back and trying more items on the menu.
We sat outside and was very cozy with the heat lamps. Our food was delicious and the service was great. Our waitress was helpful and concerned about us being warm enough and even offered to move us inside if we got too cold. All was well though. It’s become my go to place in the neighborhood.
Very cozy place!
We've had thanksgiving dinner 3 years in a row now...the food is excellent. Turkey incredibly moist, delicious sides (brussel sprouts, stuffing, potatoes). Appetizer was tasty ravioli. Pumpkin pie was good, but portion was a little small. Bread was tasty, but serving was odd...one muffin sized corn bread type thing cut in half...one half for each person. Just thought that was an odd way to serve bread.
Price is what it is, $88 per person, plus tax, tip, drinks, so not cheap. But I thought the taste of the main meal was of high quality....best turkey i have ever had.
Dinner would have been better if you weren't playing rock and roll music during a Thanksgiving event. Holiday music, traditional music would have been much nicer for the amount of money that I had spent with my family but listening to eighties music while trying to have a nice beautiful respectful Thanksgiving dinner with family was unacceptable.
When you spend 500 dollars, you expect a wonderful event and not feel like you are in a bar.
Also, charging a 9yr old and a 12 yr old 88 dollars each was extremely tacky.
Our overall dining experience was excellent. It was easy to make a reservation. The ambience of the restaurant cheerful pleasant quite lovely. We were warmly greeted upon. entering and the wait staff was extraordinary. Service was quite prompt and the food was excellent. The restaurant was very comfortable end it was quiet so that we could enjoy yourselves in a very pleasant atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Prices were a bit high but it was Thanksgiving day so that is to be expected.
It took 40 minutes to get the appetizer. The food was delicious!
My daughter and I had Thanksgiving brunch here and sat in the outdoor tented & heated area. The prix fixe menu was just like what Mom would’ve cooked and a good value.
After living in NYC for 20 years I had left for CT & wanted a quintessential edgy NYC “local” place and JWF was all this.
Very friendly staff, and pub atmosphere indoors. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to feel like a local!
Our server was very rude. She yelled at us when we went to order off the regular menu. We were not aware it was prix fixe only. She yelled at us and said she had explained that when we sat down. None of us in our party heard her say that. It was fine to have just the prix fixe but we were very put off by her manner. And when my daughter ordered a drink she replied “Are you OLD enough to have a drink?” in a very rude way. My daughter was very upset by it and embarrassed. She had her id ready but the waitress was very unprofessional about it. The waitress should have just asked to see her id and not made a rude comment. Overall this was an awful experience to have on Thanksgiving day; a bad memory.
