I have been here many times and have thoroughly enjoyed my meal... however, our dining experience on Saturday was definitely up a notch. Delicious appetizers, main courses and dessert. Friendly and attentive service made the evening feel like a special occasion. My husband and I will be back again soon.
Wonderful restaurant. Consistently great food. Friendly service. Highly recommend!
Everything was wonderful. The staff and service was outstanding. The food was delicious. We closed the place, then I left my phone and they hung around for a half hour so my husband could pick it up.
Recently had dinner at Jonathans. 2 people at the table ordered the spinach ravioli for dinner. The plate consisted of 8 small ravioli and a handful of tomatoes. Nobody at the table ordered appetizers, soup or salad. I wish the waitress would have mentioned that the portion was so small. Left disappointed and hungry.
Fantastic food and service! Will definitely be back!
Consistently good food and service Alex runs a tight ship
Food was great. Parking made us late for reservation, and we weren’t allowed to sit at the empty table and order drinks while our spouses were parking.
Bathroom has a broken toilet that wouldn’t flush. A dinner guest wanted to flush so he opened the water tank and the inside was clearly fixed in a very cheap way that broke. With the food prices not so cheap, attention and money should be spent on the details.
Free drinks were offered to us to move to bar when we sat too long and ordered appetizers, two rounds of drinks and desserts, but the bar was too crowded.
First off, this review is more about the staff than the food, which I actually thought was amazing. The squid ink pasta and burrata were second to none, and the duck cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, though the wait staff and hostess were friendly and took care of all our needs, the manager Alex made this great experience a horrible one. When the bill came, we tried to use a visa gift card to partially pay, but were told absolutely not. Honestly, that would have been fine if they simply apologized for the inconvenience and everyone went on their merry way. Instead, the manager literally pulled up a chair to the table and stated that he now had the time to explain things to us (in a very condescending way). He was rude and obnoxious the whole conversation, though I cannot even understand where the escalation came from, and even stated "the customer is sometimes wrong." Not sure where that is written in the food service handbook, butgave us a bad taste to an otherwise great meal. The owner did come by after and even though he just reiterated the message of the manager, his approach was first class and case was closed. In any event, I do recommend this place for the food and general service, but thought it important to inform the public and restaurant about how their manager made their patrons feel.
We have been dining at Jonathan’s for 25+ years & have always enjoyed the experience. The food is consistently delicious & the staff is first rate!
We frequently make the drive from Smithtown to dine at Jonathans. Our recent dinner was Easter Sunday. In some restaurants, the quality of the menu is compromised on a busy holiday. But not Jonathans. Food was outstanding. Drinks well made. Attention good without being intrusive.
Only thing I'd like to see improved is when dining with 6 or more people, wait staff doesn't remember who is getting what ... and sometimes the food is not brought out all together. Don't mind a little wait but when everyone is waiting to start - 5 minutes is a lot.
Easter get together for dinner. Loved the cheese platter and the farro salad which we 3 shared. My family loved the bronzini (filleted) and the salmon entrees, but my halibut, for me, was overly salted (I did mention it to the manager when he asked me). Good service and a very lovely place.
we have not been there for awhile and as always Jonathans was fabulous! Alex was there and always with a great smile and a warm welcome. The waiters are friendly and efficient and the busboys are awesome. The Jonathans team makes our dining experience wonderful!
I only go there for the Pork Chop which is absolutely the best....this time it wasn't right, tough, fatty...not the usual cut...of course I love it at this restaurant so I'm thinking just a bad piece....I'll order it again and I'm betting it'll be perfect! The fried artichokes are amazing and the bartenders always make a great drink!
We had to change our reservation a couple of times as the amount of people joining us for dinner increased. The manager & hostess could not have been more accommodating to make it work for us. The food & service was exceptional. We will certainly be back again!
Salad, appetizer, entrees- all outstanding! as was the service. Arugula salad, burrata, scallops and tuna, so looking forward to our return.
Love this place and have for years ... always spot on. Executive chef Tito a master, great wines, superb food, happy and festive
My go to spot for any special evening or just a random Tuesday night!
My husband and I always enjoy our meal at Jonathan’s! The food is always fresh and delicious. The service was great too
Great meal, as usual. Jonathan’s is our go-to for a dependably delicious meal where you always are greeted graciously from Alex, the General Manager. Make sure to order the pork chop. No one but Tito, the executive chef, can cook a pork chop like that. Delicious, juicy, flavorful and satisfying. We aren’t eating bread right now but their bread basket and olive oil are top notch. Thanks again for another enjoyable night out.
Jonathan’s never fails to provide great food and service. We have been coming here for many years and have never had a bad meal. The manager always comes to the table to make sure we are pleased with all aspects of our dining experience
Dodd was good. However, it is usually excellent. I don’t think the usual chef was in since it was Presidents Week. But, as usual the service, ambiance and cleanliness was excellent
Friendly staff and very good food! Would definitely dine there again!
Our waiter was great !!! The food not so much not for what we paid . The steak was tough had a hard time cutting it . I know it was al carte at least dress the place up just a piece of meat on a place was not appealing
Wonderful meal. Excellent service
Early Valentine’s Day dinner. Sea bass was amazing. Staff is always great.
My husband and I came to Jonathan’s for an early Valentine’s Day dinner and had an amazing g time. the ambiance , the food, and our server mike, were outstanding!! Totally recommend this restaurant
Been there many time and love it
Went a few weeks ago and very much enjoyed the food and ambiance. This time food was only so-so.
Wonderful restaurant. Food is amazing. However had a reservation booked 10 days prior and was given a table next to the bar. Extremely loud. People who book in advance should be given a priority in the back of the restaurant where it is much quieter.
Jonathan's has always been at the top of my personal list of best restaurants in Huntington! I once had less than stellar service, but this time more than made up for that bad experience. Our server was very professional, warm, and accommodating! The rose wine we ordered was wonderful!
We are long-time Huntington residents and in a town known for excellent eating places, Jonathan's is our favorite. The menu is varied and the standard items are consistently great.
Prices are in keeping with the quality of the fare but the drink p;rices are up there.
I recommend it highly.
We waited 45 minutes for a table past our reservation time. The restaurant did not make any concessions on our meal, but did apologize several times.
Great food, nicely presented. Very attentive server. Overall a very pleasant dinner...will definitely return.
Fish dish OK
Wines over priced. $14.00 a glass when I know that the wine I selected is going for $14.67 a bottle.
Food was delicious - great wine list. On the pricier side for Huntington but not unreasonable.
Very mature crowd.
Service was very good apart from the bartenders who ignored new guests at a full bar while carrying on a private conversation. Once we were seated and ordered from the table, we finally got our cocktails - which were very well made. Nice balance on the jalapeño cucumber martini.
Tuna tartare app was a highlight - duck entree was delicious. Desserts were okay, bread pudding slightly better than the tiramisu.
Always and excellent meal and great service. Been several Tim,es and it never disappoints.
Jonathan’s doesn’t disappoint. Lovely restaurant week menu. Delicious from appetizer to dessert. Nice deal on bottles of wine. The service was very good.
Great service and a great time with friends during restaurant week
I always have a great meal at Jonathan’s! Excellent food and service.
