Jonathan's Ristorante - Huntington Village Ratings and Reviews
Had reservation for 8:30 Saturday night. Didn’t sit until 9:10pm. Didn’t order food until 9:45pm.
We waited for the table in front of us to leave. They just sat there. I understand it is busy in a Saturday night. But manager should have offered a drink and moved them to the bar.
I love the food but I was disappointed this time in the management.
We were seated in time for our reservation. The table was perfect ! The waitress named Red was friendly, informative and helped make the evening fun. The service was exceptional. We all enjoyed our appetizer, dinner and dessert. We would definitely go back again.
Jonathan's is a restaurant I like, but everything was off on my last visit. The service was not great, and my food wasn't good. I ordered the duck, and it was the toughest duck I have ever had. It came with broccoli rabe and wild rice. The wild rice was horrible and obviously a side dish given no serious consideration. They should either make it good or choose a tasty side dish.
Excellent cuisine, beautifully presented. It was uncomfortably loud, but maybe that was to be expected on a Saturday night during Huntington restaurant week. The special restaurant week three course prix fix menu was varied and enticing, and good value. Service was efficient considering how crowded the restaurant was.
Jonathan's is amazing! It is one of my favorite restaurants in Huntington. They have a very nice selection of wines, and the waiters are polite and super knowledgable. Turns out the last time we went, it was restaurant week. But despite the craziness that this happening presents to the staff, they were impeccable at making us feel welcome, the service was exquisite, and the food unrivaled!
Had to find a place for a dinner for my boss and some clients and a friend recommended Jonathan's. Good Restaurant Week menu - the salmon with roast vegetables was fantastic - and nice ambiance. I'd mentioned when I made the reservation that it was a business meal, and I don't know if that made a difference in where they put us, but we got a great table in the windows at the end of the bar, away from the busy-ness of the rest of the restaurant (which filled up while we were there!). Staff was accommodating and friendly, manager offered us a round at the bar (which, because of the hour, we declined) when he had to turn over our table to another group. Would definitely go there again.
Four of us had dinner and all meals were great with one exception. The double cut pork chop was the most tasteful and tender I have ever had! Our waitress was very informative about all aspects of the food and wine pairing(we had two bottles). We will be back soon
Jonathan's has good--almost great Italian food. It's not super Americanized or overly traditional. They have a great mix of things and I'm always happy with my order.
HOWEVER, I have had multiple issues with the service! On my last visit, with a reservation, I waited over 1 hour! 1 hour to be seated! And it wasn't even that they didn't have open tables! They seated a slightly smaller party who walked in with no reservation before my party. (I was a party of 3) they had multiple open 2-party tables that could have been put together. But they didn't. I will say Jonathan's does offer you some freebies or some type of consolation for this kind of mess up, but is it even worth it after being told to wait at the bar for such a long time?
Again the food makes the restaurant stand out, but the service is honestly enough to make me think twice about even making a reservation.
Jonathan's never disappoints and the food is better than ever. Service was top notch, our waitress recommended an excellent wine in our price range - just ask and they're always friendly and more than happy to offer a suggestion. The food was amazing and we'll worth it. A good mix of classic and creative menu items and always interesting specials. We hope to return soon.
Very good food. Very nice atmosphere. Value was good this time because they had a midweek price fix. The management/maître de were very attentive, but the particular waitress serving us was only average. She seemed to have a few too many tables. Overall though, very solid place for dinner!
Jonathan's is a consistently outstanding restaurant with exceptional food and service. It's a local gem that never disappoints. Our favorites are the artichokes or tuna tartare for an appetizer. Any fish dish is fresh and flavorful. The duck and Pork chop add also standouts ( cherry sauce on the duck and a truffle balsamic reduction on the pork. Yum! The desserts are a stand out too. Don't miss the mascarpone cheesecake (don't expect NY Style but delicious!) and flourless chocolate
Cake don't disappoint. Creme Brûlée? Perfect. Thank you Tito (chef), Alex, manager, and Keith (best bartender!). The coffee service is respectable too. Enjoy!
On Sunday at 6:15 it took forever for our waitress to come to our table and she even went first to other tables that were seated after us. Then since she knew we were annoyed, said that "she's been rushing around." Perhaps they need more servers. Then she began to take our food orders! I had to say that we'd like drinks!!! Also, a friend had told me about a Sunday to Thursday priced fix dinner.... but those menus were not given to us when we were seated, we had to ask. The food was good though and I would consider going back.
This was the second time in a week that I ate there with a friend. Two years ago I had my birthday party there with 50-60 people. I like Jonathan's because it's very close to the food served in Italy, not typical Italian American food. I had one complaint to the waitress - and that is that the words linguine and zucchine are spelled with an "e" at the end and not an"i". The menu is well written in the main part. I hope that the restaurant will offer cinghiale , which I love.Otherwise, the restaurant is excellent.
