I always enjoy Johnny's. Our server was Kevin. He was very attentive and was kind enough to make good recommendations and even (without requesting it) brought a special birthday surprise to the table because he overheard us teasing one of our party about her birthday. Kudos to Kevin!
Very good food. Pleasantly surprised how good the food was from the last time we were there. Service was good and the restaurant was filled.
Exactly as expected!
Great food and atmosphere! Would def go back!
Love the changes in the menu and the attentiveness of the staff. Soups and burgers were delicious and save room for homemade desserts.
First time patron and a new resident to Maryland and Mt Washington.
Hard to get parking spot
Made a reservation only to be told it would be 20 minutes to be seated in the dining room
Didn't have either types of gin for our cocktail and settled for house brands
Waiter could not take order and so another person took it
Apps came slow and then plates were not cleared within any amount of time
Waiter came back with the desert menu before our entrees were served -- apologized when he came back and said orders were not put in but could be out in less than 5 minutes.
Food did come out but was cold and horrible.
Will not return
Great ambiance. A chic, casual place. Good for families and couples. I had the crab cake which was very good. My son had the turkey burger which was also very good. Will definitely stop in again.
The meal was great once again. Johnny’s brought back the Caesar Salad and it was outstanding. Thank you, Johnny’s
Tuesday is 1/2 price burger night! Best deal in town.
Great spot for a business lunch. The left side of the restaurant is quieter.
The food at Johnny's was really great. One of our party had dietary concerns and the chef was so careful and came out and talked to her about it. Very kind.
Food and ambiance are great! Steps down into the left side of the restaurant are very dangerous. The light on the steps shine into your eyes as you descend, which makes the descent very dangerous. It hasn't stopped us from frequenting the restaurant, but I thought I'd mention it now.
I had a disappointing experience with the food. I would barely give Johnny's a one star review.
We live in the Roland Park area, and we love eating at Johnny’s. The food and service is always outstanding. I wish they would bring back their Caesar Salard to their menu again. It is out of this world😊
When the French fries come to the table lukewarm you know the kitchen isn’t up to snuff. The burger was just ok. On the positive side, the fried oysters were fresh and succulent and the vodka martini was icy and the pour generous.
Great service, delicious food....had a wonderful experience
Great night to meet , half price hamburgers!
I have been to Johnny's many times over the years and always think of it as a very reliable, good place to eat. It's not too formal and the food has always been good. Well, this visit, the food was really great. I don't know if they changed up the menu or got a new chef, but it was really even better than we expected. So, kudos to whatever changed for the better! Great food at reasonable prices. I would always recommend sitting in the back room in one of the booths - it's much quieter than the bar area.
This was my 2nd time here for brunch and it was wonderful! The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. I’ll definitely be back
The waiter/staff were very polite and nice. We love our food! We will be coming back! I love the decor as well...so cool.
This is in our neighborhood, and we eat here at least once a month. That said, we would drive to Johnny's from other parts of town because of the excellent menu, staff and ambiance.
Amazing short ribs and great wine selection. My boyfriend had the Hanger steak and it was good but the sides (salad and potato wedges) didnt go well with the entree
Good but not sure I like the changes. At least the fantastic cocktails haven't changed. The fried oysters were good but not great, & the brussel sprouts were sadly kind of boring. Good but not memorable.
Pleasant lunch with great service. Both the fish & chips and the Cobb salad entrees were very good. Decent wine list.
Incredible service! The burger is one of the best in the city. We were very pleased with the well-rounded meals and reasonably-priced entrees & wine. The crab option from the kids menu was a hit, too!
This restaurant is absolutely lovely. The atmosphere is soft and quiet and the service was truly wonderful. I even tipped the busboy because he is so personable. The food will leave you with a foodgasm, every thing was perfect when the homemade ice cream and sorbet.
Valentine’s Day - great food and great service!
You can't miss with Johnny's. It's a great place for lunch, dinner, and down-home comfort.
I always find just what I want on the menu, and am more than pleased. Is it any wonder that I am fast becoming a "regular?"
We ordered a burger (delish) and the Hanger Steak, medium rare. The latter was very rare (that’s ok), but VERY rubbery/chewy (NOT ok). Let the server know and he offered to toss it back on the grill. Said ok, but although it was more medium rare on the 2nd try, my steak knife still couldn’t make it through this rubbery slab of meat, nor could my teeth. It triggered a gag reflex in me. I let him know I simply could not eat it. He said ok and took it away. He said the chef said sometimes that’s the case with hanger steak. (I beg to differ, as I have ordered it an innumerable amount of times before elsewhere, as I am also in the food industry and I have never had a time when I simply could not eat my steak.) He offered a complimentary dessert. That was nice and all, but a $3.50 cookie doesn’t really make up for the $26 steak that I did not get to eat. Therefore I left still hungry, and $ in the hole. I love all Foreman-Wolf restaurants and want to believe it was just a fluke, so my review is still middle of the road. But on the other hand, FW is not new to the industry and should have a better solution lined up, such as offering a new entree.
Everything to my satisfaction.
This was our first visit to Johnny's, after having enjoyed all of the other Wolf-Foreman Baltimore restaurants. The place is hip, fun, very cozy (nice, comfortable leather booths), good ambiance. Service was excellent. The food is fantastic! We each had the Cuban sandwich and it was a very unique approach. The sandwich is traditionally "pressed" like a pannin, but here it was a house made "grinder" roll. Excellent. Traditionally, the meat is sliced roasted pork and ham. Here, it was very juicy pulled pork and smoked bacon. House made pickles, Swiss cheese and mustard rounded it out. Best Cuban we've ever had by a wide margin:). The slaw on the side was perfect. We also shared Old Bay chips with a malt vinegar aioli. Wild. We shared drinks and a bottle of chardonnay. For dessert we had the house made banana bread (great) and my wife ate a slice of the house made red velvet cake. She said it was the best she'd ever had. This kitchen is on its game. Our only complaint is a common one with the Wolf-Foreman establishments: very anemic pours of spirits. We drink our whiskeys neat, so this stingy approach to the bar really jumps out. It's the only consistent complaint we have with their restaurants, which otherwise are fabulous.
I took my niece for a birthday lunch date. We both had the crab cakes and Chesapeake fries. This is the first time I've been here and not like my meal....would never get the crab cakes again, my fries were like the fries that yu get at the bottom of the frozen bag and I had a coke and a ginger ale both of which were flat. I've dined here several time but this time it was not good and it was the first time I'd gotten the crab.
Great brunch! Mimosa was a bit pricey for the size but great nevertheless. Will be back again!
Wonderful fresh fish for dinner. On another weekend had yummy pancakes and French press coffee for brunch. One of our favorites!
Johnny’s has recently revamped their menu and it is fantastic! The restaurant was very busy and even though we had a reservation there was a bit of wait. To thank us for our patience, the hostess sent a complimentary shrimp cocktail to our table. It was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated. For our entrees, my husband had the salmon and I had the rockfish. Both dishes were delicious and beautifully presented. Our server was a very pleasant, considerate young man who was attentive without hovering. We will definitely go back again.
I love this place, but they were off their game that night. Twice the wrong food was delivered to our table, and with great confidence! Other than that the meal was delicious!
Always enjoy Johnny's since the food is wonderful and the service is excellent. We invariably feel very pampered after a visit.
Johnny's need to improve the quality of the wait staff!
