We are regulars—thought the beef shiskabob was not an abundance of food, not very much meat!
I don't understand why we book on Open table and then the restaurant denied our points for the visit - I think this is rude and wrong. I don't think we will be back - there are too many other choices to put up with that crap
I've eaten here a handful of times, but years ago, and didn't recall anything too great about it but my wife and I thought we'd give it another try. I was generally impressed by the vibe, the menu, the drinks. The live music was a little...OK. Soft piano offerings with not so great vocals, but the volume level was nice. I had the wedge salad with blue cheese crumbles and the bbq chicken. My wife had an impressive looking burger. I went there for some bbq, and was afraid of the heavy sauce type of over-cooked and dried out possibility, but the chicken was light and the sauce was thin and bright. Not over-powering at all. The Cabernet was pretty bad, but the Chianti was very good. I would recommend it, even though, like my wife likes to call all "less adventuress" places with American food and 1970 - 1990 vibe-- "an old-person place". Which is cool, since now we're also old. How about a cool, old person place?
We always enjoy it. We were disappointed though, that the kitchen had run out of one of the daily specials, the rotisserie prime rib. They state they serve it until it runs out, so we're not complaining, just disappointed it wasn't still available.
Wonderful food with great specials! Love the atmosphere!!!
Always love Johnny’s. Been going here for years. Service is great. Chicken brochette is my favorite Shared my friends mashed potatoes - out of this world!
Johnny's K&T is a go to place for me. Very dependable all the way around. I especially like their Chopped Steak as a low carb favorite for lunch. Staff is friendly and efficient.
First, having an Open Table reservation means nothing here. We had one for 7:00 and arrived on time. We were given a pager and told to wait just like everyone who did not have a reservation. Apparently, the Open Table just reserves the time I can get my pager. Second, the quality of food has really declined. They serve prime rib as long as it lasts. We \were seated around 7:20 and they had already run out. I guess we need to eat dinner at 4:30 to get prime rib. The waiter suggested that I get the Rib eye which was "from the same section". However, that is 20 oz., far more than I could eat. I ordered the 12oz. NY Strip, medium rare. It was tasteless and a bit tough. The baked potato was not even hot enough to melt the soft butter they gave me. My wife's roasted chicken was tasteless. She brought most of it home where she reheated it the next day and pout some seasoning on it. We used to enjoy Johnny's but it appears that their quality control has really declined.
Seated 25 minutes after 7:00 reservation. Requested booth but instead seated at table for 4 at back of 2d room, 10 ft from very loud bar singer. Service slow, food low quality.
Always inviting, special, and a wonderful dining experience!!!
one of my favs
Always good, never disapointed
good live music on fridays
Usually come for a dinner meal, but this time for a late lunch. As usual the food was good, service friendly and competent. Wish we were closer, but it was nice. No issues, just a predictably good meal and that's a very good thing!
Great place! Glad I found them!! Food was great and so was the service!
Food & service very good. Convenient location, plenty of parking.
We had a great dinner. The reason it was noisy is it was busy!
Wipe had the chopsticks said it was great. I had the pork chops barbecued they were outstanding. Check them out. Pictured is my work compadras lunch that day.
Excellent service and the waitress was so accommodating!!
Great food, staff is always excellent. Never had a bad meal. Always happy to go back to Johnny’s.
Our reservation was for 7:30 but were not seated until 7:50. The service was great our waiter was very friendly and attentive the food was good but not great and a bit expensive for what we got. I would go back it had a nice casual vibe I would focus on more of the burgers and sandwiches though.
Service was good but rushed . Crowd was definitely older and food was good but not great.
Katie did a OUTSTANDING job very attentive and such a pleasant personable person.
Restaurant was crowded. Even being as busy as it was, sever was very attentive. Only thing was they ran out of prime rib.
We were in the area for an engagement party, just needed to find a place for a "quick bite" before the event - what a LUCKY find....sat at a hi-top at the bar area - live music, amazing service and food. Looked like a "local bar in a strip mall" but boy were we surprised....the place was packed, so well known by the locals.....I would go back...
Johnny’s is one of our “go-to” places. Nothing fancy, but we enjoy it. Food is simple, well prepared, and good quality. Comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff and good service. Portions are satisfying and prices are reasonable. Overall a really good value. Can’t go wrong.
Back from college and always a perfect place to meet
Had a wonderful time celebrating my 92 year old father-in-laws birthday. He felt very special thanks to our server Debbie.
It’s a great place to eat food is good I would recommend to all my friends.
very good food that is reasonably priced. Good value for what you get.
Have a decent amount of gluten free options for those that are Celiac or gluten-intolerant.
Our server was absolutely incredible! Super accommodating. But the real reason we keep coming back is because of the food! The best burgers!
Close to house. Decent food. Decent specials but just on two nights it seems.
Food was good and plentiful. Servers were very nice! We had “chi” and he was very accommodating. They had gluten free rolls
upon request. We divided one dessert and they put it in 2 dishes. All in all, it was good.
Great food, ambience and without a doubt Diego as your server.
Love this place. Been going here for years. Great neighborhood place with nice bar. Tables are a little crowded. Pork chops and chicken shish kabob are wonderful. Don’t like live music. Doesn’t work well in this crowded restaurant.
We went there for the liver and onions. It was good but not as good as I had remembered it in the past. The baked onion soup was delicious. The side salad was lots of lettuce, 1 slice of cucumber and 2 grape tomatoes. They were very busy and our waitress, who tried her best to do a good job, was hampered by the short staff. She said there were a lot of new staff members who needed assistance which delayed her. In the past, I have had their 1/2 chicken dinner or their bar-b-qued ribs which were always very good. Those 2 items were also very good when ordered for take-out.
It's still one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants to go for a good casual and as well as complete meal.
Usually get the wood fire cooked chicken but, went with fish this time. Outstanding!
Katie did a OUTSTANDING job. Our ice tea never went below 1/2. The food was fresh and tasty and was priced at a great value for the size.
Reunion dinner with friends from high school days. Service was wonderful. Simon, our waiter, was very good. Food excellent! Will return for sure!
My experiences at Johnny's Tap was good as usual and Mary always makes us feel like special guests when she comes to the table to greet us. The appetizers were delicious accompanied by our cocktails and crusty bread. Some of our meals were selected from the special menu of the day: the lamb chops were very small; steak and lobster delicious. The BBQ ribs were a little too "stick to the bone". The accompanying veggies were more than al dente, but the mashed potatoes made up for them. Complimentary dessert bread pudding was YUMMY! Yes, we're going back soon.
THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD AND ALL OF THE PEOPLE THAT WORKED AT THE RESTAURANT WERE OUTSTANDING. THEY WERE VERY WELCOMING TO OUR LARGE GROUP. THE SERVICE WAS ALSO EXCELLENT.
