A los Olas favorite. Never disappoints. 5 star food and similar service. Moderately expensive, but worth every dollar.
The cocktails were great and food delicious!
We have eaten at Johnny V on three occasions, every time we have been eager to return.
Our favourite on the Las Olas strip.
DIDN'T ENJOY MY EXPERIENCE HERE AT ALL. WE HAD ANTS ALL OVER THE TABLE. WLIGHTING WAS HORRIBLE. & FOOD WASN'T GOOD!
It was our second time here, highly recommend this restaurant, all our meals were outstanding. great patio too!
I have eaten here many times but his past Saturday night the food was pretty awful. For the price we paid, it was not up to par. My fish was sent back bc it was undercooked translucent and then it came to the table as hard as a rock. The strip steak was like leather and the drinks took over fifteen minutes and yet the place was not that busy. I was extremely disappointed and the waiter knew so. I have eaten here over a dozen times but will think twice next time
A bit warm in the back.
The service and food was excellent
This is my family's favorite restaurant in South Florida, hands-down. This is a must if you're in the area.
Very good food, pleasant atmosphere. Good staff
Have been staying at the hotel across the street for the last several years whenever we come to Ft. Lauderdale and never once tried it. Well this time we did and will be sure to make it a priority stop on our next trip. Maybe a bit pricey but not so much when you figure the quality of the food and the great service. Even my husband raved about it and he rarely cares about food in general. Don't miss it!
The food is unusual yet not overdone
The wine list is innovative
The service is excellent
Always something new to try
Our server was wonderful. We never felt rushed and were able to enjoy our night without
feeling pushed to get on with the next course.
We will be back!!
4.0 star rating
Have eaten here several times before and always enjoyed it. Was in town for the weekend and planned dinner with my brothers and their wives. We were a party of 8 and were seated in the back in a room off the main back dining room where we were the only ones. It was a perfect place for a large party since it was quiet and allowed easy conversation. The waiter was prompt and thorough going over the specials. We ordered appetizers which all vame out together, except my salad which he forgot to put in, fortunately the salads were very large and splitting my wife's maytag blue cheese salad was perfect so I canceled my salad. The entrees were all delivered at the same time and were all well prepared, I had the grilled Mahi Mahi with plantain rock shrimp dressing and cranberry-mango chutney. The fish was perfectly cooked and the stuffing was amazing. My wife had the duck, duck duck, a great dish for duck lovers. We were there for quite some time in the back room and there was never any rush to get us out. Only negative was when the waiter hit my wife in the head with a plate because of a table poorly placed behind the curtain behind us.
The food was fantastic. The restaurant is separated into 3 distinct areas. Outdoors, bar and dining. The dining is past the kitchen and lovely. The outdoors is great for people watching and the bar is quite busy - but as we learned - totally unsuitable to an enjoyable fine dining experience. If you want to enjoy your dinner companions - request a table away from the bar and be specific when making your reservations. The lack of separation between diners and happy hour merry making unfortunately detracts from what would otherwise be a great dining experience. Great service and definitely will be a repeat - lesson learned though.
Unbelieveable food you can't make at home. Sea Bass melted in your booth Oso Bucco best ever had. We will be back.
Despite being on Las Olas Blvd, Johnny V's was quiet on a weeknight. Limited outdoor seating so we were inside. Very attentive service, good selection of entrees. Food was prepared well. Good streaks and sea bass. Big slice of cake for dessert. Not cheap but as expected. Overall a nice dinner.
Took my wife there for her birthday dinner and it was nothing short of amazing! Must go 🙌
Food was great, bringing out small plates with chef selections for us to taste(that we didnt even order, just as an added bonus) was a big hit. Our server was charming and personable.
We love Stone crabs although they do get a bit pricey :)
We are typically only in Ft. Lauderdale area once a year (every February), but we would definitely consider returning to Johnny V next year. Thanks!
I was disappointed with the quality of my experience. My fish was undercooked and we were seated next to an absolutely obnoxious couple in the back right in front of the kitchen. One kitchen staff member wore a trucker hat while others projected a less than classy vibe.
I like this place, food is very good, but I think price is very high!
We came for lunch. The turkey club with bacon and avocado is delicious with homemade barbeque potato chips. The fish tacos are also delicious.
Service is ok, but way too fast : we were out in 45 minutes... It feels like they want to get you out as quickly as possible. The food is good (not super good, but ok), but really overpriced : standard salmon filet for 32$ (with green beans and corn bread)... Not worth the money!
Related to the other restaurants on Las Olas, it's probably the best.
Good food and good ambiance.
The food was as usual excellent, the service on the other had was awful. I really wrestled with how to review but am still in shock at how bad the service was. I had friends in from out of town and one was in the restaurant business so I was sure this was a going to be a great treat but sadly the waiter was all we talked about. Perhaps he was just having a bad day but the Manager never stopped at our table either though he was close a couple of times.
The place had good reviews and nice articles in magazines, but it was not what it was lead up to be. Service was ok, but the food was not good at all
i've been here several times for brunch & loved it. however, i was disappointed this time as our food came out cold.
Amazing experience; great food, great service and great time
Food came out substandard. It seemed that a busy night meant they prepared a lot in advance (understandably) but that meant food was dryed out and not very warm - in fact, some food, including my my "seared" foi gras came out cold. Also thought the food combo had just too much going on that meant bold upon bold flavors. I've been there before and had a good experience. A busy night however didn't deliver as I had in the past.
We wanted a nice celebratory dinner together and thought we would try Johnny V based for the first time since moving to FL on a Saturday. Instead of a happy celebration, we got a 45 minute turnaround. The tasty and well presented food and an informed waiter did not make up for the disappointment of the total absence of any time between courses. We still enjoyed our celebration - continuing for desert at one of our favorite spots nearby instead.
Johnny V was an absolute pleasure to dine at, as always. The food is consistently amazing and Johnny V is a favorite restaurant of my fiancé and I.
This was the first time for brunch and just like my past experience with lunch and dinner, I was not disappointed. Our server went above and beyond. The food was delicious and we will be back again.
Took my wife here for a romantic birthday dinner. Everything was perfect! I had ordered flowers to be delivered to the table and everything was spot on! The food was outstanding and the service first class. I highly recommend this place to everyone.
We dine here fairly regularly. Food, atmosphere and service usually very good. Decided to have the lobster special this evening. While the lobster itself was delicious, the stuffing was very breaded. I asked if it was supposed to have lobster in it. The waiter said yes, however my husband and I did not find any. Was glad to see the menu is changing some though.
We went there on the New Year eve, so I can understand it's crowded, but the hostess behaved so unpleasantly and not nice. It's enough to spark some positivity, to make visitors enjoy the place. But it wasn't the case there.
The food was excellent
Our server was very good
Went to this restaurant for New Year's Eve. Seating hostess was the rudest hostess ever met. She "wore" anger on her face. She did not like that my wife requested to sit on the other side of the table (so she could see the restaurant interior as opposed to looking at the wall). She slammed the wine class onto the table and shoved the menu into the stomach of the other individual with us. When we asked what "was wrong", she said her new year was starting off very badly. Certainly glad that she was taking it out on us. I mentioned this to the manager and he said that he had already had an issue with her earlier in the evening...said he would deal with the issue. Quite frankly this hostess wrecked the whole ambiance. Told manager that we were leaving without having dessert.
Food was "ok" for my wife and me...though considered it overpriced for what was served and taste/refinement. The party with us ordered ribs. It was a tiny piece of meat (more like pot roast) served on a waffle. Yes, a waffle the size of the plate. I could have made it in my own waffle iron...it was identical. Had zero taste. Person with us did not eat it. Would have been better off ordering this at an IHOP and eating it with maple syrup.
For a restaurant that is considered one of Fort Lauderdale's finest, entire dining experience was poor. Do not plan on going back...there are better ones in Fort Lauderdale.
My son and I Had surf and turf. My lobster dried out. Had far better filet at Brios next night for far less money. Wife liked diver scallop dish.
Upped their prices for New Years Eve by $20 a main course. Poor food compared to their regular days. Having eaten there frequently, may not go back in the near future.
Adding $20 to entrees because it's New Years Eve, shame on you Johnny V
As always. Fantastic food and experience. While everyone was great. You really need to check out Marlena the bartender at happy hour. She is phenomenal
Consistently good food and service. One of our favourites in Ft. Lauderdale.
