How stupid is your software to seek a review of a restaurant your system knew months ago was, very unfortunately, closed permanently?
This is our 5 or 6th time to Johnny V's and the best by far. It has always been a great time with great food and service.
On this occasion, we had out of town friends and my 2 kids. Our waiter (Michael) was excellent (if I could find a way a word to further express our gratitude and satisfaction I would use it). Michael was superb and had great recommendations, was of great help with the kids and having the bar prepare a drink to my specs.
The meal was great and the experience was great for us and for our out of town friends who complimented our choice and had great things to say about the meal and the service.
The restaurant itself is charming and on lovely Las Olas. We have dined there a few times previously over the years and I must say we were much more impressed at the time than this past visit. For the price, the food was just so-so. $30 for a vegetarian plate, which was only side items (which are $10 each) was ridiculous. Duck was flavorless and over cooked. The "whole" lobster was a tiny tail. Wine averaged at least $15 a glass for basic vintages. Service was attentive. Doubt we will return with so many other options in same area.
Great place for dinner - both outstanding service and exceptional food. The cheese menu offers great variety and the Drunken Goat cheese was very memorable. The entrees we ordered, the bone-in pork chop and the NY strip were quality cuts of meat and cooked to perfection. If you can, you might want to split an entrée as the servings are very large. Looking forward to the next time we're in Fort Lauderdale and once again eating at Johnny V.
Excellent food and service! Great date night for good conversation!
We were there to celebrate my birthday with a handful of my friends and we had the most amazing time. Food was delicious, service was superb. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. We'd definitely be back soon.
Very expensive for sub-par food. I expect better quality meats and ingredients for this price point.
great food and great service. Not too overcrowded so perfect for a larger business dinner.
We had an awesome experience! Friendly atomosphere and the food was superb!
Food and ambience were exceptional. We had Duck and Mahi Mahi and it couldn't have been prepared better. Our waiter was also excellent. The only reason why I am giving only two instead of five stars was the comment of one of the employees that brought the food. He advised me that the plate was as hot as my fiancée and I should be carful touching it. In a restaurant like Johnny V, I would have expected manners and not some waiter hitting on my company or trying to be inappropriately funny.
Fabulous, as usual, although the the service was a bit slow. Everyone raved about the food (when it arrived) and it made for a very special Father's Day.
Very nice quaint restaurant. The waiter did not rush us and allowed us to enjoy our time. The food was presented well and it was delicious. I will recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
Service was the worst I've experienced in my professional travels in the last 20 years. Server said I wasted his time asking about foods that I have allergies. The manager waited on my table after the server's tyrate. However, the manager never apologized once and didn't offer the table even a complementary drink.
I should have walked out when the server bullied me, but I did not. I will not let this happen to me again at Johnny Vs. I will not be back.
One of our favorite stops when we come to town to go cruising.
The restaurant was wonderful, as always, but our server was attentive, knowledgeable and respectful. Outstanding.
Great cheese menu - just wish dinner menu was a little more diverse -
I ordered the NY strip steak and my girlfriend had the filet mignon, both were outstanding.
Came here with my husband for my birthday before a cruise and I must say, this restaurant is amazing. The ambiance is very romantic at night with dim lighting and the noise level is at a minimum but the food is what steals the show. The seafood is so fresh and the presentation is beautiful. Our waitress was excellent and she even put lit candles in my dessert for my birthday. Would definitely recommend for a late night romantic evening.
my credit card scammed there and use at Publix 4 times
Service and food was amazing!!!!
booked a table for 1pm and was seated at 120PM. no menus available, they had some large groups in the back room. Food took forever to be served with around 25 mins from appetizer to entrée.
disappointed, but put it down to the occasion. will go back on non holiday or event days
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. I also liked that a water bowl was provided for my dog while sitting outside.
The food was innovative. Chicken and Waffles was great and coated with Capt crunch. The caprese salad was awesome. I loved the ground short rib and foie gras burger. Great spot. The service was exceptional.
Been there many times w out of town guests. All impressed. Food, service exceptional. Had 3 grandchildren w me and they were treated like special guests!
I generally avoid the tourist areas but Johnny V's was worth bucking the crowds. We enjoyed dining al fresco and "people watching" as well as catching the live entertainment across the street in front of the hotel. The food was quite good and the waiter showed just enough attention to be helpful but not intrusive. We thought the shared tapas plate was exceptional and the spiced grouper special was worth a return visit.
The restaurant was active but not overcrowded and the ambient noise wasn't too loud for conversation. Overall, it was a very nice evening.
Great treasure on Los Olas. Our waiter, Malcolm was extraordinary! Excellent evening. Thank you
Amazing!!! fantastic! We had a girlfriends birthday party here! We could not have been treated better ! Johnny V's made the night even Better! Thank you !
The Bronzini was excellent
My friends and I had been to Johnny V's a number of times over the past few years and always had a great experience and a well cooked meal. It was our place to go to celebrate while on vacation in Fort Lauderdale. That changed with our last trip there. The wine we ordered was good but took forever to arrive and we had to send the food back to wait for the wine to catch up. The starters and mains we ordered were of mixed quality, some good, most just ok but not up to the standards of the past. The wait staff was overly attentive, clearing away plates before everyone was finished. The waiter was attentive to a fault answering questions on the whereabouts of former waiters and chefs. Perhaps he was trying to fill in time as the restaurant was not very busy on a recent Thursday evening. All in all, we will be looking for a new special restaurant in the Los Olas area next year.
I'm a repeat customer at Johnny V's. It's got a great atmosphere, I would call kind of metropolitan, with interesting design and warm lighting. Nice outside seating option too, if it's not too warm. Service is always excellent. Menu is very impressive too.
Rack of lamb appetizer served over-cooked and burned.
Replacement rack of lamb served super rare, undercooked with cold center.
Beef short rib served way over cooked, dry and flavorless.
Restaurant fail...too many great restaurants to chose from so I'd recommend eating elsewhere.
A little pricey for what you get just because it is Las Olas. But I would eat there again as they have fresh food and nice service staff.
A colleague recommended the restaurant, yet I was still surprised at how great the food tasted. The presentation was on point, the waiter was excellent, and we met a new friend. Everything was perfect.
perfect spot for a business meeting with quality food and excellent service. Don't miss the fish tacos!
I have eaten at this restaurant many timea and found the food to be excellent. This time the food was terrible
Nice place to eat and great atmosphere.
It was a Saturday night
The place never was more than half full
We as a party of six sat in an alcove which was even more isolated
As a foodie this is one of my husband and my favorite restaurants but the emptiness ruins the ambiance
My experience was terrific. The service was attentive and food delicious. One if my favorite spots.
Food was fantastic, service was excellent. Everything was over the top. Will be going back again and again.
The service was slow, as the waiter had too many tables. Also my surf and turf (pricey) came out cold and when they brought it back it was obvious they added gravy on the steak and microwaved the plate?? Everything was rubber and I refused to eat it. My wife's salad was ok. No going back.
