Experience the comfort that comes with knowing all of the details are taken care of.
The food was subpar. The French Dip was among the least satisfying I’ve ever had and my wife’s pasta was over done and dried out.
Sil was a fabulous waitress and the hostess sat us at the best table in the restaurant. A wonder pre-theater dining experience!!
Excellent service and food as usual. I noted it was our anniversary and they even customized the printing of the menu and gave us a champagne toast without my prompt or ask. It was perfect!
Unfortunately, it appears that our waiter became ill during our meal. The only complaint is that no one came over to tell us or take over his duties until approximately 1 hr after our apps were served. We were seated at 6:30pm and were the last ones to leave at 9pm.
Typical steakhouse, prices somewhat more than average for the food.
We arrived exactly on time for our reservation and was seated immediately. The restaurant was immaculately clean (including restrooms) and the food was PHENOMENAL - definitely worth the price! We will definitely come back here again :)
Mother’s Day brunch was great! Generous cuts of prime rib, awesome seafood! Everything was perfect!
We were impressed with Johnathan our server and the food. Delmonico’s was very busy because of UW graduation, but did extremely well. Our food was prepared with excellence and Jonathan despite being very busy gave us his best attention. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
From the ambiance, service, quality and quantity of food, it is hard to pick the best. One of the most enjoyable meals I have had in a very long time. Our steaks were tender and done to perfection! I will definitely recommend to others, as well as returning myself. Thumbs up!
Early moms day
Food and service were outstanding! We had an early reservation so the restaurant was very quiet. When we left it was getting busy.
We were seated on time at 7:15pm, but didn't leave there until 10pm. The length of time between courses was ridiculous.
Service was slow and not the friendliest. Was not offered dessert menu.
Enjoyed the ambiance and the low noise level that allowed my daughter (who was home on vacation) and I to have a conversation while we enjoyed a glass of wine and the delicious Salad prior to our entrees. I had the grilled salmon (delicious) and my daughter had the grilled tuna (also delicious according to her comments). Service was excellent. I definitely recommend Johnny Delmonico's for a great night out!
Wonderful food, very nice server....But watch your final bill closely. Why: Celebrating my wife's birthday - a birthday with a 0 in it - so we were told that two glasses of wine were complimentary. Did we want them? Yes. Why, then, did my final tab include $18 for two glasses of wine - $9 each? I think this happened because our very nice server was too harried/too busy.
The food and the service were both Good however the time between a appetizer and entree a pretty Long And a coupon given with a check I thought a bit tacky
Great service! And great food. What more do you want?
Excellent meal as always. Kerry made wonderful suggestions and the kitchen turned out outstanding steaks.
Thank you for the birthday menu.
We were given a private corner table (exactly as we’d hoped and requested) and the menus even greeted us with a Happy Anniversary banner across the top! We were also given a complimentary glass of champagne, which really did make the occasion feel special. Thanks for a great experience, Johnny Delmonico’s!
Steak was cooked perfectly. Priced for fine dining and well worth the price.
Great food and great service. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the desserts were to die for. We will be back.
We enjoy dining here, but rack of lamb arrived medium-well rather than medium-rare as requested and the sauce was somewhat congealed suggesting that the food had been sitting in the kitchen for awhile before it was served. My partner's salon was fine and the hash browns with the lamb were tasty though too much for one. Salad orders were also too large. Smaller portions at a lower price point with more attentive delivery of the food would make this an outstanding restaurant.
Great job! As a joke, I requested money green napkins on the online reservation. Someone called and apologized that it wasn't available, but offered anything else to assist. I explained how I asked Rare Steakhouse once for a picture of Chuck Norris at the table as a joke and they never did it. When we arrived, there was a picture of Chuck Norris at the table! Great job, it makes for a story we will for sure share. Viral marketing at its best.
It took 2.5 hours to get our entrees. Arrived at 6:00pm, didn't get our steaks until 8:30pm. The steaks were cold and one gentlemen ordered a salmon that wasn't cooked all the way through. He sent it back and they comp'd the salmon. Overall very poor experience. Would not eat here again.
The downfall to this entire experience value of the food. Though the food was good, it was not $150 good.
The atmosphere was wonderful. Everyone there was very welcoming. The waiter was nice and very helpful in helping with menu selection. Restrooms were clean.
Best lobster bisque and Fillet Oscar I’ve ever had!!!
Our favorite restaurant, the salmon and trout were excellent as was the impeccable service. Getting our favorite table was a bonus!
Amazing food and even better service. Our waiter was Kerry, who I would say is one of the best waiters we have ever had when dining out!
It was great. As usual.
Always great food and great staff!
Warm and friendly greet by the hostess; bartender makes a good martini and allowed us to sample a few wines!
We were there early Sunday evening and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the experience. Our waiter, Donovan, was perfect! He was really helpful about suggesting items without being annoying. The meal was delicious and the quiet atmosphere was lovely. My husband had the filet and I had the cod. Both of our entrees were done to perfection and were very tasty.
The food was delicious! The service however was disappointing. We were seated right away but took over 10 minutes for a waiter or anyone to acknowledge us. We had to go to the host to ask about when a waiter was coming.
Sadly, this was one of my worst experiences @ Johnny Delmonicos. Chose this restaurant specifically because it is one of my favorite steakhouses in Madison and went there to celebrate a birthday. Upon arrival, the whole restaurant was filled with smoke. We were advised they had a cooking vent or some other kitchen item that backed up and evacuated smoke. It was overwhelming and thought it would subside, however our seat was right outside the kitchen and seemed to get progressively worse until the mid/end of the dinner. It was a bummer and ruined the experience as left me and my girlfriend overwhelmed from sitting in it. I certainly know things happen, but was very disappointed that this was our experience on a special night as it made the experience and choice of restaurant a regrettable one.
Wonderful meals. Wonderful service! Great experience!!!
We had terrible service at the bar and when we were seated. My brother and I both got sick from the lobster bisque, that came out super watery and oily. My wife didn’t get the bisque and she was the only one who didn’t get sick. The steaks used to come out with a half of garlic and they don’t even do that anymore. Used to love going here but not sure we will return.
The food at Johnny Delmonico's is consistently fabulous. I have never had a bad bite of food at this restaurant. Unfortunately, what I put in my mouth was greatly depreciated by the less than adequate service, timeliness and nearly unbearable noise level this past Saturday night. The noise came complete with a crying baby and some very loud, over-served patrons in the corner. After ordering our appetizer (that never did arrive) we ordered our meals. While we like a bit of a drawn out evening for a nice restaurant, 1 hour and 20 minutes exceeds normalcy. The manager made it right by reducing our bill but it was a colossal disappointment to have such a chaotic dining experience when paying for a high priced meal. I hope that there are some creative adjustments to accommodate those who are likely to be a bit noisier (aka they arrive with a STROLLER) or having had a few too many. They would have best seated at the bar. Wait staff need additional training in balancing the needs of their patrons and providing some sort of update for food that is delayed for over an hour. My father, also a frequent patron and sponsor for our meal was saddened to hear that our experience was so awful. We'll have to reconsider our usual location for celebratory meals because this was nuts.
Went on a Saturday night for my birthday dinner. Everything was very good. The restaurant was busy, but we still had good service. We had the lamb and the ribeye, which were both delicious. Great dessert and cocktails as well.
Food was very good. But was very slow. Two hours for dinner seemed excessive.
