Delicious, perfectly done steaks. Garlic mashed potatoes are the best, creamy and so good. Drinks came quickly. Server was very personable and did not rush us, but checked in the right amount. She helped create a lovely, memorable experience!

Our waiter, Kerry, was excellent, as always. He’s the best! His wine suggestion was perfect. Filets were cooked perfectly. Hash browns were excellent. A great meal & great staff.

It was our first time to Delmonico’s after living in Madison for 15+ years and it was fantastic. Ribeye and hash browns were amazing and full of flavor. Our waitstaff, Laura and Amanda, were very attentive, friendly, and overall great! We will be returning in the near future.

Returned after a 5-star dining experience a month ago to a slightly less pleasing experience. We did get the window table we requested which was nice and our server was polite and informative. One person's steak was overcooked but quickly remedied by the restaurant. 2nd time was perfect. We took a risk and tried the bone marrow as our first course. Not bad, but others on the menu are better choices. Portions seemed smaller this time - especially the sides. Bread was promptly refilled when requested. We never ran out of water and plates were promptly cleared. Usually served a short pour of complimentary champagne for a special event - this time we were served the champagne for our anniversary but it was not complimentary. Our after-dinner drinks, with chocolate and peanut butter were a definite highlight. We'll be back, but will likely try the Tornado Room next time. It's been awhile.

Dinner at Johnny Delmonico’s is always a highlight after Art Fair on the Square. We didn’t think the overall experience was as good as in years past. Had to repeatedly ask our server to remove a bread plate with water on it. After the third time we handed her the plate as she wasn’t picking it up. Also repeatedly asked for a glass of ice. Ended up asking the support wait staff for one and she brought it immediately.

Service was outstanding. Our server was very attentive, courteous and informative. My wife and I had the filet and my two sons had the New York strip. All were delicious. The Wisconsin Max and Cheese wasn’t the cheesiest but the hash browns my sons ordered were generously sized and enjoyable. Was a little noisy but that is to be expected on a Saturday. I wish the high tops where we sat were a little larger because it became very crowded when our meal came. Overall great experience and would definitely go back when in the Madison area.

We had a wonderful meal! Keith was fantastic helping with a last minute change to our reservation. The appetizers — steak tartare and tuna tartare were outstanding. Everyone’s steak was delicious and prepared exactly as ordered. The Dover Sole was also great. We were celebrating a birthday and we’re very happy we chose Johnny’s for the special dinner.

Tried this steakhouse for my dad's retirement dinner and we were not disappointed. There were 5 of us at the table and we all ordered a different type of steak, and we all loved each one. Every steak comes with a large portion (enough for 2+ people) of mashed potatoes, hash browns, or a baked potato. I was nervous to book her because we are from out of town, but I followed the other reviews and they were accurate! Hope to go back again sometime!

Oh my gosh! Love Johnny D's! First we got our favorite waitperson Julie, who is helpful and attentive and delightful and the wine she recommended was wonderful. The drinks (Negronis) were delicious. The wedge salad and tomato burrata dish were scrumptious. Once again, the steaks were done to perfection, as were the sole and salmon. I love their hash browns - fabulously crispy and tasty. The shaved Brussel sprouts were fantastic. We had dessert drinks for the first time and I ended up ordering 2 of the chocolate peanut butter concoctions they were so good! The creme brûlée was beautiful and yummy. Overall it was an exquisite evening. We will be back!

Our server was amazing. The team ensures your experience is great and is very attentive to the little things that matter. Fillet and Scallops were excellent main course items. Lobster bisque was outstanding. Just. Get. It. Garlic mashed, if you are a potato fan, is the way to go. Chocolate Peanut Butter after-dinner drink and the apple tart dessert were both excellent. A champagne toast to celebrate topped it all off.

I thought it’d be prime steak… I’m 90% sure it wasn’t. That said, it was excellent choice steak, cooked expertly. The filet oscar style was spot on. No XO Cognac selection which was a disappointment. The real attraction, gentlemen, was the corner window seat. Do your best to get this table on a nice summer evening. As it turns out, there’s a Seven Year Itch style air exhaust right outside the window at that table. Service was close to impeccable, except that my server did not know what an XO cognac was. All in all a good dinner.

The maitre d’ was pleasant and accommodating. Our 2 waitstaff were personable and attentive. The staff worked together to ensure our dining experience was exceptional. Our meals, from salad to dessert, were delicious! It was difficult to have a quiet conversation at our table due to a patron at an adjacent table with an extremely loud voice.

The food was bland and not well seasoned by everyone in the dinner party. The steaks were under seasoned and the baked potatoes had little flavor. I would not go back and instead will frequent other lower priced restaurants.
