Dining at any of our restaurants is a homecoming of sorts where guests can relax, enjoy each other's company, and celebrate life's big moments and small rituals. That communal approach is an extension of what we value as a business; tradition matters; family is important; serve your community.
Our first choice - always!
Wonderful food as always. Not our best waiter but worked out fine.
Food was great. We left full and will be back soon.
The chicken spedini
is to die for!!! And the atmosphere is great.
Food was fantastic! This is the kind of Italian food that I was used to growing up on the east coast.
The veal parm is the best in KC.
We were celebrating 2 birthdays & our waiter, Richard took very good care of us😀👍
6 of us had a wonderful dinner . The chicken spedini was out of this world !!!!! Also you have the best bread in town.
This is a GREAT neighborhood Italian restaurant with really wonderful food.
The food and service is always excellent. I had the Tuscan grilled salmon with grilled vegetables and all I can say is I am ready to go back and order it again. Excellent!
Cascones is one of our very favorite places for dinner❤️
Excellent food as always! Prices have really gone up since the last time we were there. Service was acceptable. One of our favorite places!
We were inspired to eat here from past dining (and 1/2 off entree coupon). Friday night but not very busy. Our server Terri was a delight with well timed attentiveness and not intrusive. My Blackstone Merlot was served in a generous portion , full bodied and paired well with JC’s signature lasagna. The sugo was rich and had good cling factor for bread dipping. Generous serving size and good for leftovers. Jacks Pasta was served with a rich but light citris tasting sauce with abundant shrimp, perfectly cooked. I believe the dining room needs updating and it looks unchanged from our previous visits in late ‘80s and ‘90s. Leftovers tonight. This is a classic Italian restaurant that has maintained its identity as a neighborhood friendly hospitality destination.
No bartender on Sundays meant no pineapple martini. The food is fabulous. The portions make the table groan. You’ll have extras to take home and they often bring bread for you to take home, too.
We went for dinner with a coupon for 50% off one entree. The restaurant was busy because everyone there seemed to have the same coupon! The service was slow at the front desk getting our table, but once we sat down at our table, the service was very good. This is a typical red sauce Italian restaurant, but the food was good.
Service was slow and indifferent. Too much and too sweet were the tomato sauce and the meat sauce. House salad was very tasty.
We went on a Friday at lunch and the traffic was not heavy. The food was good, but the waitress was overwhelmed, yet friendly. We were there for an hour and a half, mostly waiting on periods of service.
Johnny Cascone's is one of our top choices for Italian dining in Kansas City! Everything from the bread, to the lazagna, and the creme brulee are delicious are all amazing!
Disappointed in my food. My usual choice (veal limonata) was not available, so I ordered chicken limonata. The chicken was overcooked and dry. I will not return on a special occasion menu because it is so limited. Also tiramisu eas very mediocre.
We went to Johnny Cascone’s for a special Mother’s Day. There were 11 of us and we had our own server and large room for seating. There is plenty of room and the food was absolutely delicious. They were great options for everyone at the table and nobody left hungry! I would highly recommend Johnny Cascone’s. They made our day very special. It was everything we had hoped. It is also nice that they can accommodate large reservations.
The bread was amazing and so were the entrees! Wonderful flavor but not crazy, gigantic portions. (Thank you!!) It was a little busy and with the band, a little loud, but we were able to converse and thoroughly enjoy ourselves!
Great restaurant! Been there several times and will go back. Good for families
We really enjoyed our experience! Our food was truly amazing and our service was OUTSTANDING. This will be a must stop when we are in town!
On of the best steaks I had in a long time. The music was wonderful and the service excellent.
Perfect as always. Have been dining with the Cascone’s over 60 years.
Delicious Italian food. Great service. Probably the best lasagna in KC. One of our favorites. Highly recommend!
We love the Cascone's on N. Oak and were happy to find out there is one in Johnson County - since we were celebrating a graduation. We had a variance 15-25 people and a time window of maybe 7:30pm--- could be as late as 8pm... just could not judge. I made the reservation on line and left a note explaining our situation. I received a phone call from the owner. He assured me there would not be an issue. We arrived and the staff was waiting for us and had everything organized. It was GREAT! The food is amazing and the atmosphere allowed for us to be able to enjoy each other's company. I wish we lived closer! Highly recommend. If Open Table does not have a time or date that you want, call the restaurant and talk to them.
I normally order the delicious salmon entree ...
Salmon was either sold out/unavailable...
I ordered the Orange Roughy as my SECOND CHOICE
It was delicious and just as satisfying to me as the salmon would have been.
Have been going to Johnny Cascone's since the night we got engaged in 1989...food is always outstanding and service excellent!
Very good food and staff. They are closing for remodeling for a week cant wait to come back in May!
My dad started taking us to Cascone's every time we came to Kansas City starting in the 1960's. One of the first restaurants I dined at when I moved here in 1977 and have been coming back ever since. Great food and atmosphere. The staff treats you like family. Chicken parm is bigger than your head! Lasagna to die for. Chicken limonota was my dad's favorite and is now what I order. This is where we go for birthdays or when family is in town
Always an outstanding meal, we love Cascone's!
Delightful service and delicious food delivered in a reasonable tim.
When we arrived for our 7:15 reservation there were 20+ people waiting for a table. They put our name down on a list and took people first come first served. At about 7:30 I asked if they were going to honor the reservation or not and was told everyone here has a reservation that is how open table works. I told him we use open table quite often and have never had this problem. Not wanting to wait for another 45 minutes we left. Carmen’s in Brookside was able to accommodate the reservation we booked on open table on our way over. So in the end we got a better meal from a much better restaurant.
We won’t be back to Cascone’s but my suggestion to open table is to call and explain how your system works or kick them off it as it will start to reflect your service negatively.
I got the sense whoever is managing the restaurant is coasting on its past success. It was very busy when we were there, but the food just wasn't that great. The fork-tender Osso Bucco was definitely the highlight , but it was slathered in a gravy that was nowhere near as tasty as the pork itself. I NEVER salt my food at the table and I salted this food twice, but it didn't help that much. The Alfredo had no flavor. Not butter, parmesan or garlic. I don't even know how one makes an alfredo that doesn't taste like any of its tasty primary ingredients. As dishes passed by, we could see that each dish of food was drowning in its corresponding sauce. I like sauce as much as the next person, but only if it has good flavor and adds something to the dish. None of the three sauces we tried that night were good. When we left, my fiance said that Olive Garden (which he hates) is better and I agree.
I loved the centerpiece of the decor - the lit branches, but the rest of it felt mismatched and like they occasionally updated this or that. I'm shocked at how busy they were, considering the quality of the food. I haven't been here in years and I suspect they used to be really good, but just don't seem to be trying anymore.
After all of these years, the food is only getting better. The service was great, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. The staff was running and amazing! Everyone was exceptional. That includes the host who spent extra time with our 6 and 2 year olds. He made them feel special. Our waitress was totally on top of things, we wanted for nothing. This has always been a special place for our family.
An old family favorite we visit when in town. Generous and very flavorful portions.
A group of friends and I went to eat here before prom. It was overall a good experience. We loved having the choice of the high school event menu, even though I do not believe it was rung up correctly for the check. The food was delicious and we all enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend it.
It was awesome! We just finished our leftovers....so much delicious food!
One of my favorite restaurants
My husband and I have been eating here for many years. The food is always delicious and served in a timely manner. The servers have always been professional and very attentive. We will continue to return often.
