Johnnie's Hideaway Ratings and Reviews
Fantastic food as always, live music outside on the patio made for a wonderful experience. Server was a bit abrasive with menu questions, acted as if we should have known! We eat here every time we are in Orlando and we will continue to do so. Wonderful cuisine.
The only word I can come up with the describe the entire night was amazing. The service was impeccable, the food was great, the atmosphere was superb. The portions are liberal, large, very flavorful and well seasoned. We had an appetizer called Big Boy tater tots and they were unique and flavorful. The entrees were well-prepared, and the desserts were outstanding.
We visit the Florida area several times a year from Pa and I would recommend this Restaurant to any and everyone. Jerry is the most amazing server we have ever encountered and takes care of all of your needs immediately. The food is absolutely amazing and we sat on the outside deck by the water this time. They had a gentleman playing his guitar and singing and my wife and daughter and myself thoroughly enjoyed everything about Johnnies. Make sure to ask for Jerry as your server. You won't be disappointed
Always a good meal at Johnnies . This time Daniel was our server and he did a wonderful job. We almost always go with some of the specials for our mains. I had the Madagascar shrimp for the first time and it was a treat. Steaks are always cooked perfectly. Its the little things like the bread and the mash potato that push Johnnies in front of other fine dinning restaurants. Happy hour here is a great deal.
Noteworthy service by Daniel P. Super good waiter with a ton of personality. Table of 3, 2 had filet which was cooked to temp but just OK overall. Other was Madagascar Shrimp. Tasty spices but was served lukewarm. Bread was excellent as were the salads. On the pricey side from the standpoint of overall value. Good wine list and wine recommendation from waiter.
They sat us isolated from everyone....one table on the back of the bar.
Service was terrible due that we were the only ones on the back, so when we needed something
we had to get up an call the waiter.
Food was not good, twice we returned the madalgascar shrimp because they brought it raw.
What a dissapointment,WILL NOT RETURN
I took my wife to Johnnies for our 48th wedding anniversary.
We were greeted at the door and led to the bar to wait for our table and enjoyed a happy hour drink.
Our waiter Jerammy was just incredible.
The manager brought us a special appitizer on the house to celebrate.
The salad was great the wine matched our meals which were incredible (seafood platters)
Not a cheap night out but completely memorable.
I would recommend Johnnies to anyone foe any type of occasion.
This wasn't our first time there and won't be the last.
I thought the prices were a bit high although the portions are generous. We had a party of 4 and would have liked to have had a leisure dinner but our waitress, Linda, was not happy about us taking our time with ordering and wanted to obviously move us along. Then she put all the food on one bill and although it was clear who ordered what she just split the bill and charged 1/2 to each card - less than stellar service for this type of place. The filet was excellent. The fried oysters were a bit over-breaded. The salads were good. I was very anxious to return to the restaurant as we had had a very good meal 6 years ago. I'm not so anxious to go back.
Had a reservation for a party and spoke with the manager a week before and told him we would be there for the all you can eat stone crab. Got there ordered drinks and apps for the table them they told us they ran out of all you can eat. They weren’t going to accommodate us in any way and we ended up getting charged for multiple items we never received. They told us they couldn’t split the bill so the entire partied had to figure out what they ordered and how much they owed. They had us in a room with no music that was freezing cold, we asked several times for music and to turn the AC down . They waited until we were having dessert before they turned the heat on. My bill ended up being Double what it should have been bc they charged us per lbs. Would never recommend this place!
This place is very expensive but does great steak and seafood. In an area where kids menus are more important than adults this place is the opposite. Two major gripes, our very friendly waiter pushed hard several times to ‘upsell’ the large Crab dish versus the medium one. It was so called market price therefore $79 versus $39 for the other. Sticker shock when we got the bill. Second the wine steward was haughty and downright rude after a while.
My husband and I had just finished a week of Disney Parks with the grandchildren, and we set out to have a relaxing good meal by ourselves. We were completely disappointed in Johnnies, first they sat us in a backroom corner, surrounded by very large convention size tables. I requested for a table in one of the front rooms which had windows. Our waiter was poor at best. Kept sneezing and coughing, and never made any attempt to answer our questions about the the menu, very small brief responses. It appeared to be a good place to dine, for large tables, which were everywhere. The large groups appeared to get a lot of attention and the best wait staff. There were two other couples near us, and they did not get much time from staff either. No recommendation !!
Was hoping to find a local spot with some local color. Restaurant was in the middle of a shopping center with way too much traffic. Wine was hugely, absurdly marked up. All of the seafood dishes (which I had high hopes for being so close to the water) were covered in some sort of sauce which usually means not the best or freshest quality. Waitress told us all of the dishes were pre prepared and no substitutions or changes were allowed. Friend and I both wound up eating steak. Highlight was a front desk staff that was quite accommodating in responding to our seating preference. Waitress tried hard and was really not her fault.
Our waiter also had a very large group so we were practically ignored. Had to ask him to take our wine order. Food was just ok. I had sea bass with mango salsa. The mangos were not ripe and were hard. Sea bass was very good though. Have dined here several times. This was not a good experience
Loved it!! Was there back in February this year. Had great experience than aswell. Loved the wine pairing with my rib eye. Table side truffle butter. Side lobster tail to die for! Only thing I can say I ordered the asparagus came with no hollindase. Blain tasting, but it did not ruin the meal. I recommend eating here every night if I could.
My only issue was that we ordered the Seafood Tower as an appetizer, we did not see this on the menu and were not told the price, which when we got the bill took us by surprise. It was exceptional but being a business dinner we would not have ordered something so expensive.
I ordered the tomahawk ribeye 32 oz! I ordered the steak medium and it melted in my mouth and was the best tasting steak i have ever had! The oysters were also incredibly tender n delicious! I would definetely reccommend johnnies hideaway for its excellent food and value! We are planning to go back again this week
