Great experience... meal, service and ambiance!
Valentines Day dinner while on vacation. Once again a wonderful dining experience. Exceptional service from staff and management.
We have been here a few times before and don't usually have a problem with our visit which is why out of all the restaurants to choose from in the Doctor Phillips Orlando area we decided to come here. This was valentines day and early in the evening at 530pm.
I am not one to complain but the service was mediocre. It took at least 15 minutes to get any drinks and then it appears that our server outside wasn't around a lot due to the fact that he had to cover someone else's shift. He wasn't very knowledgeable about the valentines day specials which slowed the process down a bit.
We ordered steak and lobster and both our meals came out cold. We were going to send it back but we we're extremely hungry and due to the service and the entire situation there we didn't I think it was worth sending back. I understand it was Valentine's Day and things do happen but unfortunately it was at our expense. Neither of us were truly happy about our special celebration there. Since we've had decent food and service before we will come back but not excited about it.
Upscale seafood restaurant. We went for Valentine's Day and each had the Valentine special, a 6 oz filet paired with lobster tail. Service was excellent. We both ordered our steaks medium but they came out medium rare. This was rectified and the steaks were melt-in-your-mouth tender. Neither me or my wife had ever had a caribbean lobster tail before and found them to be bland. (Being from the northeast, we are used to north atlantic lobster). Otherwise it was a very pleasurable experience.
Went for Valentines Day dinner early and although it got really busy later in the evening it was a very enjoyable dinning experience!
Food was bland for how expensive it was. Was hoping to get more food for the price as well.
I recall the food being more memorable on previous visits. The salad was a bit wilty and overwhelmed by dressing; the fish a bit overcooked and lacking any distinct flavors and the service only energetic and enthusiastic when it was time to upsell the next course.
Wait service was terrible- he could not identify the various types of oysters, and he was very slow in bringing my espresso and then (a section of lemon) vs. a peel for my Sambucca.
Our first experience at Johnny's was on Valentine's Day 2017. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and the service, especially given how busy the restaurant was. We have since gone back four more times and have been disappointed each time, especially on our last visit. We sat on the patio and the music was so loud that we couldn't hold a conversation. The wine that was served was old, our wedge salad which is very large and easily shared had about 1 TBSP of dressing on it. We asked for more and were given about 2 Tbsp more, hardly enough for one of the wedges. Our waitress was kind and accommodating, but she hardly had time to help us. I think perhaps they were understaffed. So, we will not go back even though we tried several times to make it work.
The best steak & seafood in Orlando !!!
Great cuisine. Our server, Matt, was very pleasant, personable and fully explained everything.
Placed our order and waited 40 minutes.....no exaggeration....till it was served. Manager apologized
Great service and the food was very good!
We dined here on a Monday--all you can eat Stone Crab Claws. They did not disappoint. I started with a great Caesar salad, which made for a good pre-dinner salad the next day. Service was attentive and friendly. A bite or two of Carrot Cake, and the rest went hoe as well. That lasted two more days:) Point is, large portions!
Food was great but the service was little to desired. We had a reservation, ordered apps but never received it. Waited for the bill for more that 45 mins!
Good food, great waterfront table, perfect noise level as we barely noticed other diners, Friendly staff and good service
One of Orlando's last remaining great restaurants! Good food, great service, and very reasonably priced!
Mikal was an excellent waiter. Thx to Dan the manager.
What a waste of time & money. First, our table wobbled so much our server called it a “surfboard.” He wedged some stuff under the legs & got it stable, after about 10 minutes. Then I ordered a Pinot Grigio...and got a Pinot noir. Forgivable, so then we get our entrees which were ok, but the baked potato we ordered was cold. The jerk who brought it mixed shredded cheese into it that never melted, then got an attitude when we asked where the butter, sour cream, bacon & chives were. We told our server & a manager came over, but was only focused on the “cold potato.” She took that off the bill, which was good, but the whole experience (and food) sucked. We had lunch at Coopers Hawk which was LEAGUES better than this place and half the price. Don’t waste your time & hard-earned money here...not at all worth it.
My family and I have been going to Johnnie’s Hideaway a few times a month because we usually love the experience and the food. This time it was terrible. They’ve changed management, did not want to honor a birthday special received in an email (we are VIPs at Talk of the Town Restaurants). The waiter took forever bringing out the food and messed up the check that had us waiting at least another 45 minutes.
Multiple complaints over the service and food from fellow colleagues. A couple reported getting sick the same night from the steaks. Worst $1,000 spent on a meal.
Service was extremely slow food was good but this isn’t the first time will poor service
Not sure if I would bring gust back
Fantastic service, great location and wonderful food.
Great food and service was excellent.
Having eaten here numerous times before, I was a little disappointed. Our server was friendly, but a little harried. Our garlic cheese bread was cold and we had to ask for another basket. Our meals came out at two different times (and there were only two of us). We ordered two desserts but only one came and we had to ask for the second one. There were several large groups in the restaurant, so even though I'd made reservations, we couldn't eat inside. We ate outside in the bar, which was fine since it was 80 degrees in February.
There was an excellent guitarist, but he was a little loud, so it was difficult to talk when he was playing. I'd built this restaurant up to my colleague and then it didn't quite deliver on all cylinders, which was disappointing. The food was excellent, it was just the little things that could have made this a really great experience were missing.
Always a great place to eat. Been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience.
Once seated we ordered drinks and waited 40 minutes. I finally sought a manager out and apparently our waiter "disappeared". The manager was nice and assigned a new waiter. He then brought over an appetizer and reduced our bill. However service was still disappointing. My crab bisque was cold and had to be sent back. When ordering I inquired about the $3 per ounce lobster tail, thinking it was too good to be true. I asked the average size and the waiter said eight ounces. When the meal came the tail looked bigger than that, but I figured they were trying to be nice. Regardless the tail was tough and somewhat burned. To my surprise I was charged for 16 ounces. I let the waiter see the bill and he uttered an expletive about the price, tried to make a joke of it, and that was that. I didn't pursue the matter since the bill had been discounted. But buyer beware. I wouldn't recommend going to this restaurant.
Very accommodating great staff presence
Tom provided very good service. Extreme large parties were very loud and slowed down the service.
Server was very attentive and responsive. Food portions were good. Especially the desserts.
We sat on the patio and enjoyed the live music. Food was good but the filet mignons lacked much flavor for the price point. The garlic bread and house salad included with the entrees were delicious. Service was good and they brought out propane heaters as the sun went down and it was a bit chilly. Overall pretty good experience for a trip to Orlando as a family.
Jerry was our fabulous waiter who thoroughly explained the menu choices for us. Cocktail suggestions were perfect and his service was great! All of our menu choices were delicious and I cannot wait to come back again.
Our server, Jimi, was exceptional. We were a table of 2 who, I am sure, had a much smaller tab than many of the large tables. However, he took care of us as if we were his sole focus. Delicious steak, salad, veggies and a well-mixed drink. We will be back when in the area.
Food is Great, Service is usually Fantastic but this time we did not get our usual server .. our server was very overbearing insisting we do things on his timing and his way .. did not care for that at all since I am paying the bill .. also they charged us $139.00 for a bottle of champagne we did not order .. luckily we caught that ..
Everything about this place is awesome. Great service and don’t get me started on the food. Everything we put in our mouth was top notch.
they must be going thru a bit of a culture change... waiters seemed a bit stressed but held it together... they are a great team..need some leadership pulling them back together..
The food is great. The only negative is they will not split the bill which made it difficult for our group.
Had a wonderful time! Our server Paul was the best. Would go back just because of the excellent job he did!
Love this place. We are a regular and bring friends there all the time. Food is so good
Excellent food, service and ambiance - a wonderful dining experience.
