John J Jeffries at the Lancaster Arts Hotel Ratings and Reviews
Exceptional food and service at John J. Jeffries - we are never disappointed when we dine here. We love the locally sourced ingredients and the chefs are superb. Outstanding beef and pork options, and an intimate, relaxed vibe makes this a place we'd like to return to again and again.
Great ambiance, great food, great service. Most hotel based restaurants are overpriced tourist traps with lackluster food. I'm happy to say that this place is an exception. Food was delicious, service was exceptional, price was reasonable considering the quality, and the place was quiet enough to actually be able to carry a conversation with your dinner partner. I'm definitely planning on dining there again whenever I'm in the area.
This was our second time here. We love the variety and that the menu is different each time. We have not been disappointed with anything thus far. Service is always friendly. We will be back! If you are looking for a special night out this is the place! If you want to go when it isn’t packed I’d go at 5:30. By 6:30 it was packed and a little loud, but I am sensitive to background noise. Thanks for a great night!!
At time of reservation, I noted it was our anniversary. When our waitress Angela came to our table she immediately wished us a happy anniversary and offered a complimentary glass of champagne or dessert. As it was our first time there, Angela explained the restaurant concept and the menu. Throughout the night she was very attentive and friendly. Food was great. We had the scallops and brisket. Restaurant was packed on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Would definitely recommend to others. The quality of the food and service was worth the cost.
This was our third time eating at John J. Jeffries. Each time, the seasonal/local menu has outdone expectations. Our waiter, Henry, was both knowledgeable and friendly. The menu was highlighted and our questions were answered. My wife ordered the Pork Gordita and I had the steak, both wonderful.
This is a great location for special occasions and dates.
I do believe that we had a relaxing and enjoyed the food as well as the service.
The food was very well presented.
The only comment I would make concerning the food is that there are people who do not like spicy food. At the same time it was a joy to be served my food minus the spice.
I am not sure why many restaurants today think they need spicy, and tell you sorry but it was made that way and should be as accomidating as you were.
Our server, Angela, was one of the best servers I've had. Local sourcing of food can cause this, but ran out of all pork dishes by our 7pm reservation on a Saturday night. Too bad, there were some lovely choices we were interested in. Noted a creative twist on many enjoyable ingredients!
My wife and I enjoyed our first anniversary dinner at the always impressive John Jefferies. It was an incredible experience and our second visit was as enjoyable if not better than the first.
We had mentioned online that it was our anniversary and both the host and server were both aware of our anniversary and we received complimentary sparkling drinks.
We will certainly return once again!
JJJ was a must on places I needed to visit since graduating from F&M in 2015. Fortunately there was a wonderful selection to chose from for their three (3) course dinner for $55. There was 2 of us accompanied by a wonderful Riesling from Lehigh Valley. $170 including taxes and tip. The salmon cake was above average and the NY Strip Steak was cooked perfectly rare. A wonderful Pumpkin Creme Brule to top it off. For $55 I got responsibly sourced food cooked by a great chef. Cannot ask for anything more. A steak in NYC cost $55 so to get a full meal for the same price was wonderful. Highly recommend for anyone looking to bring a date.
