John J Jeffries at the Lancaster Arts Hotel Ratings and Reviews
For our first time at the restaurant we were so happy with everything. The server Henry was by far the best server we've had anywhere in Lancaster county. The food also was amazing. I tried things I didn't ever think I would and to my surprise I really enjoyed it. I would recommend the restaurant to everyone. The price is worth it. We will he going back!
The service was great, both at the bar and at our table. The food was fine. I’m from out of town and read so many great reviews, so maybe there was too much hype for the food to live up to. I would come back and give them another try as their menus are interesting.
We had a nice evening at John J Jeffries. Both our meals were prepared very well. Our waiter was fantastic. We weren’t in the main dining room, so atmosphere suffered a little. The pace was a little quick, so it didn’t feel like we had much time to sip our wine and enjoy the evening out.
We chose this restaurant for our Valentine's Day dinner. I liked the healthier options of grass-fed meats from local farms. The menu had a good variety of dishes with a vegetarian option. Everything I had from the beet & lentil salad to the French press coffee and flourless chocolate cake was absolutely delicious. The only thing I would change is an option for more private seating. The tables were very close together, so noise and privacy of conversation were a slight issue.
I am always skeptical of new places, but was blown away by this place! Food was excellent and so fresh! Waiter was very informative and helpful. I would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. Will make this one of my regular stops for sure! Well done!!!!!
My husband and I have dined at John J. Jeffries twice, once for our 50th anniversary, and once for my birthday the next year. The food was delicious and beautifully laid out. Portions are not large, but are certainly adequate. And 'delicious' does not do it justice. The service was exceptional, and the ambiance was quiet, comfortable and relaxing. Especially (but certainly not only) for 'special occasions', we highly recommend JJJ. The staff goes out of their way to congratulate and make you feel special and welcome, and they do so in a sincere way, not at all perfunctory. Highly recommended!
From start to finish, a phenomenal experience. My husband and I shared an array of small plates: the cheese plate (best we’ve ever had), the tartare, the fried potatoes, meatballs, and jim bim bop. Furthermore, they went out of their way to make our anniversary exceptional. This is the place to go in Lancaster.
My husband and I were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. Dinner was nice (our server, Henry was excellent)! After dinner we went to the bar for an after dinner drink, and was very disappointed. It was only around 9:30 p.m. and the atmosphere was almost depressing. The music was awful for a bar environment. When we asked the bar tender to change it, he said he couldn't because the owner wants his music played (even though the owner was not on the premises); very disappointed!
John J Jeffries is a great restaurant that uses seasonal local foods to create their menu. They provide a small tasing of soup once you place your order; fantastic breads, amazing drinks and phenomenal food. The service is always superb! The servers are knowledgeable with amazing recommendations.
