We were all extremely happy with our dining experience there from the wait staff to our food selections. Especially loved the array of vegetables included in all our small plate selections. The oyster stew was some of the best my husband has ever tasted! The pretzels instead of crackers added to the stew was an additional touch enjoyed by him as well.
Notified restaurant that it was our anniversary and they offered us complimentary rosé or dessert. Wait staff was very nice and food was amazing!
What a wonderful meal my wife and I had. Everything served is farm to table, all locally grown. The server was very well educated on the items on the menu. His suggestions we're very helpful and well received. The venue itself is very interesting as it is located in a converted tobacco wearhouse with a lot of exposed brick. I'm looking forward to my next trip to Lancaster and John J. Jeffries.
I have been here twice, and both times have loved it! The food was delicious and the service was excellent! I chose to celebrate my birthday at John JJ effries with my husband and parents. We all had a really great time!!
Solid meal, good values on the wine list
As always, everything was wonderful. The staff and the service were outstanding. The food was excellent. We can’t wait for our next visit.
Lovely place with outstanding service, great welcoming expertise and good knowledge of the menu and recipes.
The food was great quality and not boring, complimentary focaccia and carrot muffin were definitely a plus.
The food was delicious and the menu was very unique. Highly recommended!
My wife and I spend all our special occasion dinners here. They have a great menu of locally sourced food that covers meat-eaters to veggie-eaters.
Everything was fabulous...Would definitely go back again
Great restaurant in the heart of Lancaster. It’s in a hotel and doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the food was great! Definitely a pricier location as Lancaster goes, but fabulous for a special occasion or a date night. Great setting for quiet conversation, delicious food, and top-notch service!
John was great! Really made our anniversary special.
Upscale restaurant with excellent food, great service.
The ambience was perfect for our quiet dinner for two. The food was delicious and interesting. Best of all, our service was outstanding. Casual and yet very professional.
Went for a dinner with our F and M college student on parents and alumni weekend. The restaurant called to confirm the night before and informed us about the prixe fixe menu. Not cool to find out the night before on a very busy weekend when the availability to change to another restaurant was essentially non-existent. We hoped for the best but were disappointed. The $55/person was overpriced for the meals. They were average at best. The dining room was lacking in ambience and was located in the bar behind a curtain.
Nice restaurant at the Lancaster Arts Hotel. Service is friendly and professional. Food is farm- to- market and seasonal. Pretty good but not outstanding. Atmosphere is casual and befitting the converted warehouse it occupies along with the hotel. Wine list is pretty good and well priced. Pricing is middle-of-the-road.
Wonderful as always. Best Tartare in town.
This was my first time at Jefferies. We arrived early so the dining room was not too busy - so
it was quiet - which I enjoyed. The food was very good and Chad - the waiter was excellent.
Prices were reasonable- so it was an enjoyable evening.
This is her usual go to spot when we are in Lancaster. Unfortunately tonight was definitely an off night. Starting with my initial appetizer my meatballs were severely under cooked. My entrée of skirt steak and potatoes was superb. My wife’s trout on a bed of squash and I believe it was orzo was OK but not super memorable. The worst part of the evening was the complete lack of attention by our particular server. With only one refill to my glass, constant disappearing looking for any sort of follow up to what was being served was between 15 and 20 minutes per go around. So I seriously had to stare at under cooked meatballs for 15 minutes, then wait for new ones. I had to ask a second waitress for more water, more ice tea, and it was becoming increasingly frustrating all the way to the dessert. And after staring at an empty dessert plate for 20 minutes I finally had to ask another staff member if my waitress could bring the bill. I would understand if every table was full but when we were eating our dessert there were only four occupied tables left in the restaurant. I hate to write this place off, and I will chalk it up to a one off. My wife and I consider this one of our favorite places to eat, and I hate to see this one incident represent the direction of the restaurant.
Food was great.
Service of ONE particular waitress absolutely horrible.
I dine at John J’s not infrequently and it never disappoints. Consistent and delicious.
This was our first time dining here, I have always wanted to try it because it has great reviews. Parking is a bit of a pain, but they took us to our table right away. Service was very good, our server was very knowledgeable. It was a nice atmosphere. Our food was just ok for the price I thought. My husband had the meatballs, they were great. I got the pork dish. It was basically a pulled pork sandwich without the roll. It was picnic food at the cost of $26.
Celebrated my grandmother’s 90th birthday. Everyone left happy...especially the birthday girl :)
Another great meal. Love to celebrate special occasions here.
This restaurant is one of the most comfortable environments ever for dining. The meals are creative and from farm to table. The food was great and the service was very good. Prices are moderate.
We love coming here for our special occasions. This time was for our first anniversary. The steak with onion reduction was to die for and the pumpkin creek brûlée was better than I could have imagined!
I wanted to find a great place to take my husband to celebrate his birthday. I picked well!
Excellent meal! Jerk chicken was perfect. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The pumpkin soup was smooth and flavorful. The meal was a hit from start to finish.
We chose John J Jeffries for a birthday celebration and couldn’t be happier that we did. Our waiter, John, was awesome and made a great recommendation for an appetizer that we shared. The food was well prepared and delicious. Loved the farm to table menu that listed the farms where items originated.
Food is amazing! Got to meet the owners super nice people! Chat was a great waiter - he knew all his stuff really well!
Great place for eating fresh and local. Romantic outdoor dining.
Our favorite restaurant in Lancaster! The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back.
Great overall experience for a special occasion. Exceptionally well done meal.
Great place! Great food! Great experience! I highly recommend it!!!
Farm to table approach. Thoughtful presentations. Very flavorful dishes
Our new favorite place. We know we will enjoy our food, and can always find new flavors to try. We just love it here!
Lovely as always! The service was thorough, but non-fussy; the food was delicious and inventive.
Very good food. Server Heather excellent!!
Atmosphere very good.
The food was pricey but absolutely excellent!! We would go again
We celebrated our anniversary there. Everything from special accommodations for gluten free guests, attentive and knowledgable waiters, delicious food and our special anniversary treat was superb! Wonderful evening!
Our waiter John was absolutely fantastic.
He has so much style and grace as a waiter.
