One person in our party was vegan and although there were no specific vegan options on the menu, the staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. Very impressive customer service!

Great food!!! A relaxed but upscale venue.
Selection and preparation was excellent. Last time we were here we enjoyed a great duck entree. This time we ate vegetarian and they offered a great tasting entree and starter cheese plate with the best tasting local cheeses. Lots of selections for everybody.
Well done.!!! A great French wine at a reasonable price. My go to spot in Lancaster.

We went on an off night(Tuesday) for an early dinner. My husband's dinner was very tasty and well presented. The first thing our waitress did is inform us that one of the soups was sold out and one dish the was only available for an upcharge. Because the regular price meal was again sold out. This was at 6:30!! The upcharge meal was a New York Strip steak that was tasteless and tough. Not impressed with the food at all. Won't be going back anytime soon.

We were celebrating our son's new job with he and his wife. The staff, ambiance and menu were outstanding. It was our first time there and we loved the place. The variety of both large and small plates was perfect. Thank you!
We'll be back

I was very disappointed! My wife and I had a date there and it was our 1st time trying John J Jeffereis and I was very disappointed. I ordered the scallops and the price was $36.00 I received 3 scallops and a very bland rice blend. I felt ripped off. I was so hungry when we left we went to checkers and ordered more food. I will not be back and I will not recommend this place to anyone. I am a professional chef and have been for more than 21 years and I understand upscale means less food but come on $36.00 when scallops are going for $18.00 a LB retail and the rice was really bad.

Overall the food was good. Service at the bar and at the table was just ok. Bartender didn’t offer a beer list when we asked for a beer. He not very accommodating at all. Our service was the same, went over some menu selections but we listened to another server go into great detail about everything on the menu. We didn’t feel welcomed at all for our whole meal. It was very disappointing.

This was one of the best meals of our lives. We live in New Orleans so we've had some amazing meals. We were in Lancaster because our son, Ian, committed to Franklin & Marshall College for next year. This was our last night in town and it was a lovely end to the weekend. Our waiter, Henry, was superb. Extremely knowledgeable and personable. We will most definitely be back many times.

Lovely service, nice atmosphere. Everything great except steak was tough. Vegetables and sauce great. White wine by glass selection not extensive enough. How about a nice, by the glass, French burgundy?

My daughter and I both have celiac disease. Henry was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating to our dietary restrictions. While this in itself is always appreciated, Henry went above and beyond by not only telling us whether a dish was gluten-free, but also by making suggestions for substitutions to ensure that our meals were not only safe, but also as enjoyable as they would have been without any restrictions.

Thank you Henry for making a special night with my daughter perfect.

Excellent and creative menu offerings using locally sourced fresh meats and produce. Supports local. Menu is pricey but well worth it. Noise level is high though for an upscale dining experience. Spent the evening listening to loud conversations on all sides which was highly distracting from the experience. Likely will not return due to that which is a shame.

Have been here several times with friends who live locally, and we’re pleased every time. The Blue Point oyster appetizer that we shared was delicious. My scallop entree was perfectly prepared, and the others enjoyed the beef and the pork dishes. The wine list has a very nice variety at several price points. I tried a sparkling Gruner Veltliner that was quite good! The Mexican French press after dinner decaf coffee was excellent (and I’m a bit of a coffee snob). Service was extremely attentive, polished, and professional. The only complaint about this visit was that we were seated in a small dining area, not the main room, and there was a very noisy party of eight seated at the next table. We could barely hear our own conversation, but that’s not the fault of the restaurant. Popular place, made our reservation late, so that’s where we got stuck.

We love dining at your restaurant and have been many times. We always make it a point to come to Lancaster to both experience the Central Market and eat at your restaurant. But this time - we had a very disappointing and unsafe experience with one of the entrees. The rest of the food was amazing but the guinea hen served was poorly breaded, the flavor was not very good but the serious issue was that it was undercooked - when cut into there were lines of blood that formed where the meat was cut. It was clearly undercooked and very unsafe. Fowl should never have blood present and this wasn’t just a drop - there was a significant amount. We were not happy with the apparent response from the kitchen which was then passed along from the server, that dark meat is often gamey and therefore was to blame for the blood and the server stated she didn’t notice as much blood when she herself checked it out which was insulting as if we weren’t telling the truth. Yes guinea hen is gamey but there’s no excuse for blood to be in fowl like that and it needs to be addressed and instead of attempted to be explained away with untruths, to deal properly with a mistake and not undercook anymore fowl to be served to anyone else and potential make people seriously ill. Please be more careful because that dish could have made us sick and potentially seriously so. Due to that event and how it was explained away improperly we don’t plan on returning to the restaurant but perhaps someday in the future we’ll reconsider. Other than that dish the food was wonderful as was the service other than the server’s and kitchen’s excuses rather than thanking us for making them aware of a serious issue. We were glad the dish was removed from the bill and the server did provide a free desert which was extremely nice. Thank you for all the past wonderful meals and we hope your kitchen remains more attentive to proper meat care for the safety of your patrons and the success of your business.

Was right inside the front door. Curtain kept on blowing against my husbands head whenever someone opened the front door. Service and food was up to par but I'd rather be in the main dining room for paying the same price. Drinks were small and our waiter said all drinks are measured and the bartenders get a bonus if they turn a profit.
