Perfect and the Maître d' is friendly and knowledgeable. Must go!
This was an awesome find! Great ambiance and I would recommend this place for a happy hour, date, special occasion, birthday or anything! The food is phenomenal and the service is impeccable. I highly suggest staging on property, too. Can’t wait to return again!
We enjoyed dinner at JOhn Ash & Co whilst we stayed at the Vintners Inn. Their cocktails are great and also service very good. Being in wine country I expected the food to be more special than it actually was. t was not bad at all. We tried the lamb trio.
The food and service were fantastic. They seated us ahead of our reservation and had a great selection of wines and beer. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. Meal was pricey so I wouldn't eat there every day but for a special occasion it is worth the price.
Bar and lounge was great.
Disappointed with the dinners in restaurant.
The server was very attentive and made sure all of us got what we needed in a timely manner. He checked with us on a regular basis without being intrusive.
Our glasses were filled with water all the time without having to wait or ask.
Food was delicious and nicely presented. Drinks were tasty.
We did not have coffee and had to skip dessert, but we were very happy overall.
We appreciated the efforts to accommodate the toddler at our table and will be definitely back.
Excellent food, pretty good choices. Excellent service. A bit snooty, but that's common for the better restaurants in Sonoma County (for reasons I've never understood). Not a very good selection of wines by the glass -- lots of room for improvement there. Overall, though, probably the best restaurant in Santa Rosa.
Great food and service. Low noise, easy to hold business meeting here.
Went to JA this week for a birthday and uniting with lost cousin. Steve was our waiter, as he has been for years. The service staff was attentive. I did the prix fix with sea bass. Good sea bass but the greens underlying the filets were just a blob of green protoplasm. The soup...forgot what soup it was...was excellent as was the beet salad and desert.
I noted the wine list by the glass was extensive and well selected though we had a bottle from the extensive list.
Always a great experience
Very attentive service
Beautiful setting. We had reserved a patio table which I had heard has a lovely view of the vineyards - it does. But when we got there the receptionist said they couldn’t give us a table there and can’t always accommodate requests (even though the person I had spoken to when I made the reservation said we were set for a patio table), and more or less brushed me off. Then the manager stepped in and asked if he could help. I told him the situation, and he said he’d see what he could do. He ended up giving us a nice table on the patio after all. The rest of our time there we had excellent service and food. So it was a good experience in the end.
It was our first time there. The place we normally would go for Easter brunch was burned in the October fires. So this restaurant came up in my search. We had our family Easter brunch it was awesome. Will definitely be going back.
The place is lovely, and the servers were very attentive, almost hovering. The chairs could have been a little more comfortable; not as if you could just sit back and relax, but I guess that’s what the cocktail lounge is for. Overall, it is definitely a place where you’d want to be for a special occasion. My only disappointment was the food. It felt at times that too much was going on in the plate. It was almost as if the chef was trying too hard to be inventive.
Four of us had a lovely Easter brunch. Garden view, good service and food.
Enjoyed our Easter brunch the food and service was excellent. The special prices made it even better.
We had a wonderful Easter brunch and birthday celebration. Our server was absolutely charming and very attentive. The food was excellent, even my kids loved it. Thank you for a lovely experience. We come here often and we will keep coming.
Lovely staff, beautiful setting, great meal!
Had to ask for waiter to come to the table to initiate order. Long delay before first course. Main course was excellent. Expect better customer service from John Ash.
Lovely food in a beautiful setting. Reasonably priced wines by the glass as well as an extensive wine list.
My wife and I dinned at John Ash on two consecutive nights. This was our first experience there. All of our meals were original and creative. The tastes were absolutely wonderful. The prices were very reasonable, representing excellent value. We also liked the restaurant's corkage policy. We will definitely be back.
This restaurant has really gone done in food quality since John Ash is no longer there.
Nice bar. Very expensive for local wines though.
The breakfast at The Vintner's Inn was 5 star fabulous! River Vine Cafe.
The food, the service, the ambiance are all wonderful. We especially like The Terrace. The view of the vineyards, mountains...so beautiful! The Terrace is also quieter. The service is very attentive and helpful. We also like the fact that they do not bring leftovers to the table until you pay and are ready to leave. Truly, a great dining experience.
We appreciated that they had a nice vegan dish on the menu.
Everything was awesome. The manager Dave stopped by to check on us and he was so friendly & suggested some great dishes.
Beautiful restaurant with wonderful dishes. I highly recommend it.
John Ash & Co. never fails when it comes to a superb meal with great table service. We have been here numerous times and it is perfect for a special occasion. My wife's birthday was the celebration with two close friends and myself. Seated in a quiet area we were able to converse easily, enjoyed the delicious meals and received outstanding service. Always considered when we want a first class meal.
Alan is the best and the whole service team is excellent. Chef Thomas and the kitchen crew always put out great food!
As always, this is a dining experience. The Amuse thru the Desert Truffle, ALL is amazing. The Olive encrusted prawn cocktail is our favorite.
John Ash never disappoints. Always a great meal and great service. Highly recommend.
Pretty room. Friendly service. Quality food. Beautiful vineyard views. A worthy stop.
Bucatini with Dungeness crab was spectacular. A friend had the lamb three ways which he loved. The wine list is extensive and very reasonable.
Lovely dinner! On an R&R in a neighboring city, we purchased a Travelzoo voucher for John Ash & Co. The somewhat rustic ambiance of the covered area was comfortable and allowed us to view the well manicured landscape. The hosts and wait staff were very cordial. Our waiter, Alan, was very friendly. The food was delicious and the presentation was lovely. Highly recommended.
I've dined at your restaurant many times and each time I am never disappointed. Always a delight and the staff is exceptional. Also love the bar as it is incredibly comfortable.
Enjoyed sitting on the patio with the heat lamps, and enjoyed great food and service. It felt like we were the only ones there.
We were there for the Sonoma Restaurant Week menu, and it was an excellent meal overall. The menu offered solid choices. I almost never order dessert, but that turned out to be the best part of the meal. Service was friendly and the room was elegant and lovely.
Each year, when we vacation in Sonoma, we dine at John Ash. Typically, its a wonderful dinner. This year, however, we were sadly disappointed. The salads were fine, although splitting one would have given us both enough. Unfortunately, our server told us they were small. The entrees were where it all fell apart. We both love lamb, and a lamb trio was on the menu. Although we almost never order the same thing, that night we did. Big mistake. The lamb sausage had little flavor and the texture was so fine that it tasted more like a mousse than a sausage. Oh, and it was cold. Some lamb chopped in small pieces was mounded on the plate. The seasoning was odd and the flavor was not at all appealing with the lamb. We ordered the lamb chop rare to medium rare; it was blue and cold. We did, however, like the Israeli couscous! Why didn't we complain; we never saw our server again. Others came sporadically to the table, but not our server. We noticed that she did hover over patrons who ordered wine, but since we had been wine tasting during the afternoon, we weren't interested in more wine. This really was a miserable evening, and I almost never write a bad review.
Everything was wonderful, from the service to our table and the food was exquisite! We love dining here and highly recommend this always consistent restaurant.
