Really sweet bartender! We got some complimentary bubbly and chocolate for a birthday too
Another great diner and service experience at John Ash & Co. The service is really great and the food fantastic. I am vegan so really appreciate that I can count on them to have at least one (two this time) vegan meals on the menu. It was one of the best meals I have had. I wish there was a place in Healdsburg that offered vegan meals (without advanced ordering) but since there isn't, John Ash will get our business.
We have celebrated our anniversary at John Ash & Co. for 25+ years. (We are on our 41st). We brought two friends to dine with us, as our treat to celebrate us and the beginning of indoor dining. Our service was slow - -and we sat for 45 minutes before our order was taken. The charcuterie platter cam with a pan of 3 rollsd for the 4 of us. Had someone tpld us there were only three, we would have ordered more. But we waited for 10 minutes, couldn't find the server opr anyone, so we just starting eating - - and finally after about 20 minutes we saw our server and asked for small plates for the platter we were sharing. When we did order, the wait was even longer, and we continually had to ask our server for sugar for the iced tea, he brought out a champagne even though we asked for a glass of rose. The service was horrible - -and to add insult to it all (I am not even going into everything that was wrong) the bill still had the champagne on. it as well as the glass of rose. We asked the server how long he had been there, and he said 4 years! We were going to cut him some slack if he was new. So not the case. We may need to find a new placewto dine and take friends out if this is the new normal. VERY disappointing.
Excellent food in a lovely location, with professional service. Fantastic A favorite local and wine country place!
John Ash has been our special event go to for decades. With that history and the various guidelines from the restaurant on the website and in emails, seemed the perfect place for our first seated restaurant dining since COVID.
The food was as good as always but otherwise it was not good a good evening . A minor point was that the waiter did not tell me that the vegetable side I ordered was also coming as a bed to the rice cake entree I ordered. The service was slow. We were there for 3 hours and long eager to depart. Despite double vaccination we will be fretting about catching COVID from our dinner for the next week, partly due to the duration of the meal. More importantly was the congestion.
We dressed as advised by the restaurant for cool outdoor seating. Instead when we arrived for an early dinner we were seated as the only party in a room. The numbers and volume increased dramatically. I was seated with my back to the room. When we stood up to leave I waa shocked to see that the room was essentially aa full as it would have been before COVID. Our county just increased allowable indoor dining to 50% capacity or 200 people, whichever is less. The restaurant clearly exceeded those parameters.
We are learning as we go, but we expect more of this fine restaurant and will not be returning for awhile.
Despite being seated where it was drafty, we enjoyed the excellent food and service.
slow service, reservation was late cold in dining room
John Ash is everything it always was! The food is small portions but really good sauces and presentation .
This was at least our 5th visit to John Ash & Co. and each time we have not been disappointed.
Our friends that were traveling with us, were told by their son-in-law that JA&C is the best restaurant in the region. After their dining experience with us they definitely agree.
We are looking forward to our next visit to JA&C.
This is our favorite place to dine and have cocktails.
I can't wait for the Cafe to re-open.
I miss having breakfast at the Cafe every Friday morning.
Didn’t have the 2014 vintage silver oak so we had to settle for 2016
We had a nice, long, leisurely dinner, however the last 30-40 minutes not as enjoyable as we we very very cold.
While we had a pleasant dinner, the food has been slightly better prepared on other occasions.
Overall it was a great experience. The food was excellent, serve was very good and the setting was good
John Ash is always a treat.
The setting is pristine and the food always delivers on flavor and presentation.
The lemon cheese cake was heaven and I would eat that as often as possible.
A perfect setting for our brunch. The food was excellent, the service impeccable, and all in all a most delightful experience.
Fantastic patio! Delicious food and great service. Brunch was amazing and dinner is always good. A go-to for us!
Our Easter Brunch was perfect! I really wish I remembered the name of our waiter. He was the best!
Always a great time! Thomas and Steven are fantastic! Food was great, cocktails were perfect, everything was excellent! Thank you! Will and Mary...
Getting married there February 26th, 2021
Had a FANTASTIC meal at John Ash with the QuarenTEAM to celebrate our friends 40th. That lemon cheesecake is something I won't soon forget....I believe that lemon cheesecake might just solve all the worlds problems. ;)
Great place for date night..
The food was delicious. We sat on the patio and watched the sunset. We were very pleased with all Our server 's suggestions from the menu including the wine.
If you’d like to enjoy and be able to hear in an intimate setting, choose the dining room and not the sunroom!
Otherwise Fabulous !
We have lived in Sonoma County for over 25 years and John Ash is still one of the best restaurants in town. Thank you Johns Ash and Vineyards Inn for a wonderful experiences.
Loved it Never disappoints. Will go back when ever possible.
The ambiance and the service was great, however the food was just okay.
Everything was excellent. Short Ribs were great!
As we reopen during these unprecedented times the staff makes you feel comfortable safe and attentive.
The food is fantastic.
We will be back in June
Happy 🐣 Easter
We had scallops and halibut. Both meals were tasty and cooked to perfection. Great flavors and moist
we ate outside on a perfect spring evening. Everything was spot on.
It was wonderful to sit inside and have perfectly prepared food. Fresh and quality.
Thank you for getting a table so we could talk and celebrate life as it has become.
Lovely outdoor dining spot; food and service were impeccable.
An outstanding evening, so relaxing to sit and dine near the vineyard. Started the evening with a local beer on tap from Cooperage Brewing co., great depth of flavor. Had the calamari appetizer and listened to other reviews to order the short ribs... the best EVER! Great service to boot! We will be back!
Amazing food, great drinks, and excellent service. I would recommend a million times over. This place will not disappoint.
Short ribs were phenomenal! Highly recommended. Awesome evening!
Excellent service and food as always. We have never been disappointed. The swordfish was excellent as well as the Weiner Schnitzel. Such friendly staff as well.
Both nights we were seated in the room off the bar. It was cold (door was open due to COVID, understandably). We couldn't understand why some guests were seated in the tent with white linens and heaters, while the room off the bar was cold and sterile.
Loved the food, service and atmosphere! Everyone had a great time!
The most wonderful dining experience in years!!!
Everything was fabulous, especially since this was only our second time going out to dinner in the last year....COVID. We had the same wonderful waiter we had when we were there for our anniversary last September.
W got great service from the hostess, Veronica, who made sure we had inside dinning. The menu choices were excellent. The service was professional and intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed both nights dinning there. We will be back the next time we visit the Vintners Resort and Santa Rosa.
