John Ash & Co.
It is a beautiful location and the food is delicious. However the service is not very friendly.
The service was excellent. The food was very good and we had a very lovely time celebrating my daughter’s birthday. Based on what we read we all made quite an effort to dress properly only to be surrounded by people in sneakers, flip flops and shorts. If you advertise a dress code you should enforce it.
My wife and celebrated our first anniversary Saturday and I have to tell you, the entire staff knocked it out of the park. Fabulous experience. Thank you for helping us make that night one to remember.
Excellent food, person staff and the best chef. As always we thoroughly enjoyed our dinning experience.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner with friends on the terrace on a beautiful evening- perfect setting! The food was delicious and our server, Josh, was very attentive and friendly.
Excellent food and service!
We have been there before but were invisible. This time we used open table and were timely seated. Our waiter, Eric, greeted us and asked if we wanted water, tap or bottle, not speaking of a charge for bottled. Service was OK, we ordered drinks then wine with dinner. my wine was delivered after I was finished with my entre. The short ribs were good, not great and the pork chop was average. It was our 55th anniversary and they did do a special dessert for us. WE would go back again but it just seems like they cater to folks who are not like us.
Great food and vegetarian options were great
Pricey but the ambiance, food and service make it a memorable experierience.
Excellent. Waiter knowledgeable. Table asked for and received! Thank youb
Great food but the service was a bit off. Front of the house was lovely and welcoming. But either due to high volume or something else we didn’t see it took about 20 min to get drinks which was right when our appetizers arrived. The food was great but wasn’t matched by the same quality of service.
The atmosphere and environment of the restaurant is soothing and romantic because it has a tranquil view of its gardens from most any table. The dishes are prepared with care using high quality and local ingredients with a definite attention to plate presentation. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the foods we ordered such as the Beet and Arugula salad, Vegetable Curry, Lobster Risotto and Strawberry Rubarb Crisp. They have an outstanding wine list as well. We will definitely return to try some other dishes.
Decided to give John Ash another try for a family celebration. Would have been nice to know that they have no children's menu, though they were able to cobble together a cheese pizza and fries... After explaining the specials and allowing us to order, they came back a few minutes later and said they were out of the specials; about a 45 minute wait between appetizer and entrees with kids growing tired. Then the steak arrived cold and under-cooked and vegetables were close to raw. They did comp the cold, raw steak but no reason to return any time soon.
Food, service and ambiance is impeccable.
My favorite place for all of the above
Excellent service, fantastic covered patio seating, and great food.
Picked from OT recommendation, just perfect for a great meal. Excellent wine list, actually went to one of the wineries from the list the next day, loved 32 Winds!
Outstanding meal for my Fathers B-Day. Made it very special. Glenn
Steak was ordered medium but came we done
Lobster risotto was completely overpowered by the added Cheese. It didn’t need cheese so why use so much and so strong
Very outdated service etiquette and ambiance. Youngest people by 30 years. Incredibly salty food, undercooked potato’s, and undercooked beans.... For the price they can’t even cook a minor component t in their dish properly. Lackluster service, slow, never refilled water or wine, checked in on us way after we finished food. Inexperienced, server.
Not worth it for the price if you like a quality experience.
Everything was delightful except for the price. A very nice atmosphere complimented by great service and excellent food. Highly recommend for a special occasion or a romantic dinner.
We were staying at Vintners Inn and had heard good things about John Ash & Co. The restaurant itself is very nice and has great views of the vineyard garden outside. The food was reasonably priced and okay but not great.
We ordered crab fritters and beets salads, halibut and chicken pressed with a brick. The beet salad and corn muffins were good. The halibut and chicken were both flavorless and over-cooked. The service and atmosphere were nice, but it is a restaurant, and the food has to be on point.
It was a great dinner. We were there with a group of 6 celebrating my wedding. The waitress was awesome. Actually all the staff was great. They were very attentive. Made sure we always had water or another drinks. Food was great. And for dessert they came out with what we ordered and had a candle for us to blow out. It was very sweet. We look forward to coming back every anniversary
The ambiance is amazing. The service was on point. The calamari plate was huge and beautiful. Shame it was pretty cold and bland. The salmon special was great, but the filet tasted a little like fuel. So, overall I love this place but it is not my favorite list right now.
Four of us were celebrating a birthday and this is definitely a place for a special occasion. The food was outstanding especially with the perks of the Amuse-Bouche before and chocolate truffles after. The service was above and beyond, I think we had about four people waiting on us at once! Love this place and will definitely be back!
This place always has the best food, service and views.
Beautiful facilities, great bar... the food (Halibut) was lacking flavor. The Thai dish was flavorful and as expected. The cocktails were delicious. One server in the bar area (pre dinner cocktails) was having a bad day, but service in the restaurant (John?) was spectacular.
The beet salad was a small portion but good, orderes the lamb trio, the chop was bland and the small portion of shank was okay. ate here a few times a little dissapointed. The scallops and prawns were good. Very good service
Excellent food, very good service, beautiful interior
I typically love John Ash but our table was a little disappointed in the portion size of entrees in relation to cost.
Our service was excellent and the food was very satisfactory.
I wasn't impressed with the halibut. there wasn't much spinach and some strange pasta balls under it. Just didn't go together and not much food. My boyfriend was happy with his food. steak potatoes and asparagus. the wine was good but expensive. we loved the atmosphere. there were kids outside banging their forks on the table. we had to move inside due to that.
The food was unique!
I always order the four-course tasting menu. The pork tenderloin is exceptional.
Amazing! Had always heard through the years it was wonderful
It was unusually quiet tonight, which totally worked out for my hubby and I for our anniversary dinner. The services from beginning to end was incredible, as well as the food and wine pairings. We absolutely loved everything!
Always enjoy our Yearly celebration of our anniversary. This year 54 years. Treated excellent, great table, view of garden and grape vineyards. Food very tasty and good.
There were 6 of us. The guest of honor ordered a dish that had scallops. She had to send them back as they were barely cooked, almost raw. My wife ordered the Halibut which was grossly over done consequently quite dry. I and another person ordered the SPECIAL rib eye steak with crusted coffee which was to be caramelized on top. What we received was a very cheap piece of meat that was heavily grizzled with excessive fat. The crusted coffee was never caramelized and was more like a sickening heavy gravy that you would associate with short ribs. The meal was VERY disappointing as this has been one of our favorite restaurants ever since they opened in Montgomery Village. This used to be the restaurant that we would recommend to anyone who wanted a recommendation. I can't recommend anymore.
