We arrived for the oysters and were not disappointed! most amazing selection of top quality oysters, mostly from the east coast, with one selection from BC. All very good.
Freshness and quality was outstanding, and the wine pairing was amazing. Servers were very knowledgeable and helpful.
Small, buzzy Restauant serving great oysters, seafood (mostly) and other good food. Fantastic service...good range of drinks (beer choice a bit limited for me) and definitely recommended.
Always great food and service. Super reliable place for a business lunch or a quick after work drink.
A simple bar like space but with some of the best seafood I have ever had!
We likely hit an off night. I’ve been for lunch and the food seemed fresher and tastier. Not sure if a chef issue. Also, and I get it, it was super super loud in there with patrons basically yelling and no one asked them to tone it down. So we ate fast and left as soon as we could. Thanks
Great fresh seafood. Great service. Great little spot.
The haddock and chips was great. Easily one of the best batters and preparations that I have ever had. The fries were yummy too, and malt vinegar comes to the table without having to order it. I would recommend this for a business lunch or a friends gathering for sure. It's a great little place at the bottom of the ocean of office towers. Worth the visit.
My wife and I had an amazing night at this great spot downtown. The whole service, from Oysters and cocktails right through to dessert and coffee was amazing. Cool speakeasy vibe with a great bar menu and food tonrival the best in the city. A must-hit spot downtown Toronto
I met a client there for lunch at her suggestion for a fun lunch. The Chablis with the oyster plate was just the beginning of a wonderful relaxing time. The tuna tartar and calamari that followed were the perfect follow-up. It was hard not to polish off the bottle of vino...so we did leaving 1 1/2 hours later. I would recommend this to everyone within walking distance for a lunch experience you will remember.
Inventive presentation and superlative service from a cozy spot on a downtown side street. Deserves greater recognition.
OVERPRICED for what you get
service girl not very pleasant
octopus ok not the greatest and not a lot for the price
smelts small portion and not krispy
good as usual. Only problem was that because of the backlog the oysters that we ordered when we sat down did not come until after the mains which were ordered a half hour later. Unfortunate.
This is a great place for after work drinks and oysters. Our server selected a variety of oysters for us, and they were delicious. I would definitely come here again.
The staff were so helpful and energetic and made our experience better than it average. They really care about you and I would recommend it. Go here if you want to have a nice date.
Oysters where amazing back for second visit 2 days later
My husband and I had dinner hear a couple of weeks ago when we came to Toronto to watch Meatloaf the Musical, and we were not disappointed! The food was AMAZING and the staff was very knowledgeable! What a great time we had! Could have stayed there all night! Will definitely be going back next time we are in the area! Thanks to everyone at the restaurant!!
Had a awesome time, reservation was for 6 family members. Everyone loved their choices. The wait staff were very attentive. Food was fresh, great selection of beers, wines and spirits with an even better selection of oysters. Great time was had by all, would definitely go back.
Once again the finest oysters in Toronto.
Food was outstanding.. clearly great chef.. creative items.. refreshingly different..
Great drink menu as well.. recommend seafood platter
Oysters were very good. rest of the food was just OK. The reviews are right...stick to the oysters and drinks and all will be great.
Consistently good place for lunch and dinner. Small well executed menu with good wine list and nice beers on tap.
What a great place... Super service and brilliant render if oysters...FRESH
It took almost an hour to get our food. Service was terrible.
The ambience, wait staff, and service were superb. The oysters they serve, with the freshly grated horseradish is some of the best in the city.
I would highly recommend John and sons solely for oysters and drinks, they are magnificent.
Where they consistently fall flat (for me and gf) is their food. It is very poorly done, and frankly, they need a new executive chef. Every time we go, we rave about the oysters, staff and drinks, but discuss the food disappointment.
Don't make the same mistake - have oysters and drinks, but go somewhere else for dinner if you need.
Great experience service was excellent food very good all oysters were excellent except BC. My friends first time and they were very impressed
Met a friend before the game. Good drinks, food and oysters
My wife and I went for some oysters but got a whole lot more. Great food , excellent service and will go back.
The servers make you feel at home and mix great drinks.
Hidden gem in the middle of the financial district, the place is small so make sure you reserve in advance. It can become a bit noisy as the space is small but food is great, good wine menu
Food! Oysters, Tuna Tartar, Octopus, Scallops
Service! Wait staff is limited and difficult to get a hold of.
Bathroom! Just one... be prepare to wait.
You have to arrive ON TIME. Arrive before or after does not guarantee you a spot
Always a great cosy date spot for delicious oysters. Fish tacos were a new delicious add on!
Overall great experience. My Parents came to visit and I was able to get a reservation last minute on a Friday night. The food was amazing and the servers knew the menu and were welcoming. The only downside was that they forgot our mains and we waited for a while. However, they quickly made it up by giving us free glasses of wine! Would recommend this for anyone who is looking for a unique and fun dinner place downtown!
The food was great! Made a reservation several weeks in advance. Our table was not ready but luckily we only had to wait a few minutes for the corner bar seats to open up. Service was a bit slow but we really enjoyed our dinner. It's a great place to pop into downtown.
We were ten minutes late and they had already given away our table/reservation...They found a seat at the bar for us, but it wasn't ideal.
Service was excellent#
This is one of my favourites in Toronto. Always fresh seafood and creatively put together. God wine selection and friendly staff.
This place had the feel of a Boston Oyster house. A bit tough to locate, however that added to the "feel" of the Oyster House. Food was amazing, although just had oysters and tuna tartar. Service was excellent, with added touches of ambiance. We will definitely be back for dinner!
This place is awesome. Food is outstanding (try the burger!), service is excellent, and the ambiance is amazing.
Great food, little noisy. Will definitely return.
Loved it! Been to Rodney's, Oyster Boy, Pure Spirits, and Diana's but John&Sons was the most memorable! A real cozy feel with the wraparound bar. The shucker was so calm and cool, shucking dozen after dozen, and not a spot on her nice white blouse! Service was fast and friendly, and we even went during busy happy hour when everyone was ordering $1+ Avonlea's.
Great apps to go with the oysters: lamb sliders, fried smelt, and grilled octopus were fantastic.
Will go again. And again!
