One of my fav’s. Had Black Bass and a chicken special. Felt the chicken was overcooked and the preparation on the fish wasn’t to our liking.

The best chicken schnitzel!

With COVID we needed to eat outside....they did a great job creating a cool sitting area and the food remained hot and and was amazing as always...continues to be one of the best places in PS

I could tell they were trying their best with new outdoor dining restrictions, but the food was average at best, which is not what I expected as a long-time patron of Johannes.

Inventive cuisine that includes multiple schnitzel variations and some unexpected choices like Malayan meatballs. Everything was flavorful and beautifully presented. Extensive wine list and flawless service. The outdoor patio is perfectly situated to enjoy gorgeous mountain views and fun people watching.

Great job on the outdoor space! It is beautiful and inviting. Barry is the best :) We will support you through carryout during the lockdown. Keep smiling and thank you for all the hard work.

Fabulous. We enjoyed a ‘last supper’ before the lockdown of December in a very chic outdoor patio built specifically for elegant outdoor dining. Food was amazing, proper, fresh. We are total fans of new Austrian fine food so I can say without reservation that the Wienerschitzel was perfect. Only a real Austrian can make it perfectly!! Apfelstrudel was one of the best we have ever had, even in Tyrol and Vienna we have not had such a perfect dessert. One can taste that there is no compromise here. Order the Gruener Veltliner white for a mineral/nutty perfect Austrian white wine from the house of Laurenz. I hope that they can open up soon for more outdoor dining!!!

Wonderful food & service!

It would be great if Johannes could continue with their patio setting/outdoor dining. The atmosphere was amazing and the food delicious. They were extremely accommodating and friendly at check in.

We were expecting sidewalk or makeshift outdoor dining space but was a pleasant surprise when we were led to our table. It was a beautifully decorated and lighted area, fenced, used to be part of the street but you really can’t tell (with rug, candlelight and everything). They did a great job on distancing and health protocol I think. Service and food selection were both delightful. It was a great experience.

Although we live elsewhere currently (we’re in escrow for a house in Palm Springs) we've been to this fine dining establishment time and time again for 20 years with every visit to the desert. The food is always superb, the service is friendly, yet professional, and their outdoor seating is comfortable and COVID safe. You must try this wonderful Palm Springs restaurant which has become a local institution! 10 stars! ( I’d give 20 stars if that were possible!)

Only rated ambience mid range because dining was street side due to COVID. We've eaten in their dining room in the past and it was very nice albeit a bit on the dark side.

This was our first time back since the shut down. It was as amazing as usual. So happy to see Berry (probably not spelling that correctly). She provided over the top service as always.

Everything was wonderful. Love the née patio..lovely. Only negative is the Arenas bar music was too loud.

Went on the first night of the bar closures and restaurant reductions and was anxious on how it would be. They've taken all of the precautions necessary (more space between tables, accepting fewer reservations, etc). The food and service were outstanding. We're going through some rough times so I will continue to try and support them as much as I can.

Good place. Good food. A group came in after us, obviously regulars, were treated so well. We wished we’d been treated like that. Staff maybe could use that as s benchmark.

Excellent food well served in a friendly matter.Good wine list.I had inadvertently entered only 2 instead of 4 guests but it was easily remedied.My favorite Valley restaurant.

We dined with guests from out of town. Table of five--everyone loved their meals.
Food arrives hot, and we all appreciate the use of noise baffling on the ceiling.

Much to my disappointment as a returning guest we were seated in the back dining room which has no ambiance. It was a 6:00 p.m. reservation which meant that a table in the main dining room could easily be turned over. I did not wish to make an issue of it before my partner but it is difficult to understand why we walked by a nearly empty main dining room to be seated in the back.

The server seemed rushed every time we interacted with her. The attention to the patron has gone down in the past year. Johannes used to have a European like atmosphere where the table was yours for the night if you wanted it. Server recited the special items in a rote manner and showed little or no enthusiasm for the Chef’s special offerings that night.

The noise level also has gotten deafening. Not a good place to have a conversation with your partner or your guests.

Fabulous food and service. I have very often eaten in this restaurant and never been disapointed.

A classic Palm Springs local restaurant. One specialty the Schnitzel is consistently great. Most everything else is good.

Johannes really is near the top of places to dine in Palm Springs. The food is always exceptional and the surroundings pleasant and relaxed. And the staff is impeccable. Highly recommended!

Wonderful place to dine. Service is excellent and everyone is friendly. The food is awesome and they have a great selection of wines, if you are not a wine expert, they will pair you with a nice wine. Prices are reasonable.

First time. We’ve talked about going for a number of year and finally did. Loved it for the most part. Service was a bit erratic, but the food and cleanliness were terrific. We will go back.

Excellent schnitzel (and I am Austrian by heritage!). Really interesting appetizers and salads. Lovely meal and solid wine list.

This was a lovely experience. I had the raw Brussels Sprouts salad and the Lemon Caper Chicken Schnitzel ... heaven! I am craving it now. One of the best meals I have had in the desert. I can’t wait to go back. For those that don’t drink - they also have a signature mocktail to help you feel special. I loved my meal here - and reservations were a breeze. The front desk was also very accommodating. Nice servers too. My only complaint was the bread and spread. Not a fan. Would have preferred a nice French bread with butter.

Service fair. Twice had to request items that were overlooked. Biggest issue was restaurant policy to not split the check. Found this out of the norm where most restaurants have no problem dividing up the check as a courtesy to their patrons.
