Joey's Italian Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Adorable inside and outside patio. Food delicious. Service, a bit hurried, rushed, curt even thoughts started 1:30 past the busy time - they weren’t rushing us for our table. Perhaps just her demeanor. We’d have stayed for a second bottle of wine but the hurried service- we chose to go elsewhere. I’d definitely go back.
We enjoy the pizza and Italian fare. The staff was friendly and attentive. The Wynwood location is very hip. We have been there several times. The friends we took for late lunch loved Joey's and said they would most definitely go back. The value is excellent and the venue is light and fun. Its a favorite of ours.
Joeys is a nice place in Wynwood for dinner, but they should stay open longer on the weekends especially on a Sunday. We went there during the LIC concert and they close at 9p.m. which we were actually surprised to be told since Wynwood was super busy on Sunday night. Also, the manager is a bit cold and rude. After having dinner there, we stepped outside but one of the people in our party wanted to go back to use the restroom. When he walked back inside the manager followed him and ask him what he was looking for? Obviously, the manager must have assumed he was someone just walking from outside to use the restroom. He had to be told that we had dined at the restaurant and were coming back inside to use the restroom. The manager seemed annoyed about it. Honestly?? After we spend $200 inside your restaurant! If we tell you we have to come back in to use the restroom, you should have a DAMN SMILE on your face and be gracious and accomodating! Not sure if we will return to Joey's after that undesirable attitude by the manager. LEARN some People Skills because you have too much competition in Wynwood for places to Eat!
Bottom line; service was very poor, very lazy. We arrived and the place was busy but not slammed. Our waiter Ty said to put the order in at once to avoid delay. So our salads and entrees at once. After 45 minutes our new neighbors received their appetizers in 10 minutes so we were 35 minutes ahead without even a salad. Ty said, “they ordered appetizers.” Well, Ty told us not to. By now the restaurant is 30% full, 70% empty. Our neighbors received their entrees, ate and left before we received our food. And as a bonus for waiting 65 minutes we weren’t offered water refills or pepper or cheese. The food and hostess all great.
Our waitress was just lovely, attentive, warm and helpful with special requests. The food GPM the gnocchi to the chicken entree to the fig pizza was delicious. The waitress even helped arrange a custom pizza for us without mozzarella and adding shrimp. Great place fir good food with family, friends or a date.
We were four Canadians enjoying Wynwood Walls
Food, service and ambiance were fantastic!!
Probably the best pomodoro outside of Italy. The Fig, pizza with honey was the best Pizza we ever tasted. Our server was charming and extremely professional. Definitely going back on our next trip to Miami.
We live close by but the last few times things just didn't seem right. However this evening everything was just different. Seemingly there is a new chef and our waitress was beyond excellent. It's now our go-to place again and we are glad it's back at it's best. Well done Chef and staff.
Very much enjoyed the food, we ordered the salmon tartar, caprese salad, Bronzino and Pear Tart. Everything tasted delicious and cooked/prepared very well. The music though is questionable, very quiet and non energetic while surprising for this area of town. A little better style of music would bring in even larger crowds.
Went for a special Mother's Day Celebration. Was very disappointed with the LACK of service. Took forever to get a server. We had two young daughters and we were starving. The spaghetti and meatballs was good but the steak was way overpriced. It just came with a salad. Not worth the $31. Also meatball appetizer was $16-and small. Unfortunately, we would not go back. The big plus was being right next to the Wynwood Walls but I have to say that is it. Also, they should offer to validate your parking as soon as you leave.
This was our 7th visit to Joey's. As always the quality remains intact. The food is always excellent and the ambiance is great. We recommend the Linguini Carbonara which is the best in Miami ! Also the thin crusted Pizza Margherita. This can be accompanied with the excellent Sangria (either white or red). Service always very pleasant with lots of smiles.
This is a perfect restaurant for before or after the Wynwood Art Walk.
We look forward to our 8th visit !
