Joey's Italian Cafe
Tuesday lunch. I had miami spice, salad, fett w salmon, n cheesecake. Very good. My friends had chx milanese, excellent.
Wine took too long to get to the table.
Good music n ambiance.
Wonderful outdoor seating. Very good service and a delicious meal! Great M-W $10 deals.
I'm not a big Italian food guy but overall the food service and ambiance was excellent. I would definitely recommend and go back.
This is my first review in a long time. Joey’s was a bit overpriced and the food and service were not great. I informed the hostess and my server that we were there to celebrate my daughter’s birthday because no one noticed the note on my Open Table reservation. The hostess wanted to cram 6 people in a tiny round table in a corner right next to the entrance where the draft of opening and closing the door would be a constant nuisance. We had to ask for the complimentary bread and refills on our water and sodas several times. At the end of our meal, the server brought out a small dessert with a candle and sang “Happy birthday” song along with a few other servers. Yet, I wasn’t expecting to be charged $15.00 for a single serving of Chocolate Mousse Cake. Most restaurants will not charge for a birthday dessert and will inform you ahead of time if there’s a charge for it, which I’ve NEVER experienced. It was our first AND certainly the last time eating there FOR SURE. It was a disappointment.
Nice but the speed food came out was too much, hard to relax
It was a Hot summer night and we hoped to kool off at Joey's so we elected an indoor table....the restaurant is always consistently good. My only complaint is that it was very warm inside! The staff was terrific in presenting great fan fare for a birthday.....no they did not comp dessert, but they did provide a candle and singing waiters.
Took a colleague for a farewell lunch. I had the Chicken Milanese which very tasty . It was very moist and the coating was crispy the way it should be. My colleague had the spinach ravioli in Alfredo sauce., I assume it was good since the plate was clean :-). The wait staff was very accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend. Joey’s. Mon-Wed they have $10 menu specials and select wines for $20.
By far one of the best restaurants in Wynwood. Their gnocchi was delicious and they have an amazing drink menu that includes a buy one get one free bottle during their Sunday brunch.
The air conditioner wasn’t working and it was really hot inside. The food and service amazing.
The food is really good but it’s expedited Italian food. Side salad $8. Everything a la carts. Drinks tourist prices. The pizza is good. Service was very good. Lots of staff around checking on us.
A neighborhood gem. The entire staff is focused on delivering a great experience. I am making this place a regular brunch spot.
The food is absolutely delicious. I can personally recommend the chicken parmesan (the absolute best I have ever had), along with the gnocchi. I have been to Joey's more than once before, and I keep coming back because of how good the food really is. It is a little bit pricey, but the quality and consistency is outstanding. We sat outside this last time we visited and it was great - the fans were on while we watched the Miami Pride Weekend activities take place in the street. It was an excellent experience overall and we will certainly we back.
Like always the place is great the service is excellent and I highly recommend the passion fruit sangria which is made by the bartender in the inside bar. The food is also very good and the environment is sophisticated and elegant, you gonna have a good time at Joey's.
The food was delish and drinks were perfect! I will be back.
Server failed to correctly order our dinners. Two came after the other three were done. Bad attitude.
I was there on a Monday for lunch and although the place was empty, service was disappointing. My server was not around when I needed him, he forgot my order, the food was OK and all in all I didn’t have a good experience. I wouldn’t return.
Heard a lot about this place so we were really excited to go. Unfortunately we felt like it was fake nice. The charcuterie board was a mishmash of just sliced deli meats. Spaghetti and meatballs were good but nothing to write home about. I would probably go back because it was still decent food for a good price.
Food was amazing. Waiter could have been more attentive, there were times when we needed something and he wasn’t around. Me friend and I also asked for meals to be made spicy and this was forgotten so we had to add chilli flakes ourselves. Would definitely recommend though.
We requested a table on the terrace and our table was there when we arrived. An we were going to a performance in the light Box at 8 am, and the server made sure we didn't not have to worry and wait for food.
And best of all, the main courses arrived hot, fresh from the kitchen.
We have been dining at joey's since they opened and always enjoy our meal.
As always, the food is excellent. Had the dolce picante pizza and the salmon entree. Both were perfect and made the trip worthwhile. The one annoying thing about Joey's is that there are flies inside the dining room. This has been the case the last three times that we've eaten there. I imagine that it has to do with the traffic of guests and waitstaff going from the dining room to the outdoor area. Management should install a repelent mechanism or find a way to deal with the flies. Other than that, it's a great place.
The food wasn’t anything special. I wouldn’t go back.
My daughter is vegan , she ordered a vegan burger
They brought in a regular burger with cheese
So after the wait she needed to reorder
Then she asked what was the vegan soup of the day the server said it was bean soup, he brought it and it was green, so he said , sorry we were out of it so I brought you brocolli.... 🤷🏻♀️
Great food. Too bad the servers throw it at you and nobody knows who gets what at the table. Seems easily fixable if there is a manager on site or a good manager.
Fantastic food and service!
No good experience. Food is medium level and they propose us food of the day that we did’nt order at highest price. No good recommendation.
One of the worst restaurants I ever been !
Don’t ask for Pasta dishes “Totally uneatable “ why , because the Pasta is rubbery , has been pre cooked , never al dente, has not flavor, then they combined shrimp & porcini Mushrooms together , a clash of two strong ingredients that shall never be together ! Either make a good Porcini sauce or make a good seafood sauce but never together !
Disgusting! That was the special of the day & the waiter ( terrible service ) failed to explain the Pasta dish had mushrooms, he only emphasized the shrimp past & the wine sauce reduction! it wasn’t written it was verbally explained , I should had sent it back ! Also why do they serve red wine from the refrigerator? Red wine must always be served room temperature!
Good food. Easily reserved for a large group. Casual and fun! Loved the caprese salad!
Food was ok nothing special. Server did not bring appetizer thar was ordered. Never offered bread with meal.
Everything was good. What you’d expect from a diner.
We were placed at a table next to a group of 14 people. A typical ploy of a restaurant with new customers who they don’t necessarily expect to see again. The appetisers were good but the main courses did not live up to the hype. The service was very slow and they had trouble delivering our drink orders in a reasonable time. It was also a long wait to receive attention from our server through the evening.
Wasn’t sure what to expect for brunch as I hadn’t dined at Joey’s in years. Happy to say how good every dish was and that the BOGO on bottles of bubbles was a welcome surprise and well taken advantage of!
Pizza's were great and the outside seating was the perfect vibe.
Overpriced, lackluster food, mediocre service--did not enjoy dining here and would not recommend.
The service was amazing ..the waiters were awesome...we had pizza and it was delicious...will definitely be back
We sat outside by street so it was noisy. Party of 8. Service was slower than we can used to. Enjoyed our meal with friends
The service was absolutely horrible! There was a drunk person on the street who was heckling all of the patrons that were sitting on the patio of the restaurant and screaming profanities at us while we were eating. None of the management did anything about it. It seemed to be a regular occurrence.
We ordered an appetizer, salads and entree's. They brought everything out at one time! When we stated that the food should of come out in stages, they were disturbed at our request to have it brought back and served properly.
Too expensive do the quality of the food and the service
The food was amazing and our server was incredibly nice, went out of her way to make sure we had an enjoyable time and enjoyed our food.
Delicious food. Great Service. Would definitely go back!
The restaurant is on busy corner great for people watching if sitting outside. However they are trying to take maximum advantage of the outside seating so the tables and chairs are on top each other. You’re sitting/eating with your neighbors. There are two seating areas, one under the awning. One in a garden like area. We were under the awning, the garden might be more roomy.
The food was for the most part very good. We had the burrata which was a generous portion, the meatballs were just ok, the chicken parmigiana was one of the best I’ve had, but the pasta was a little too al dente. Tomato sauce on the chicken and past was very flavorful. Wine list was good and priced fairly. I think the meal was over all a very good value, especially for Miami, and I’d definitely go back.
