Joey's Italian Cafe
Joey's serves Wynwood's burgeoning arts community with a fine-tuned menu of healthy, classic dishes from Venice and other culturally rich Italian regions. The affordable, chic restaurant is owned by Joey Goldman, a partner in Goldman Properties, which rejuvenates urban areas and transforms them into thriving global destinations.
It was very good. Service was great!
Usually the place (at least 10 previous visits) for my favorite pizza and also my favorite pasta. However, today something was not quite as usual. Perhaps the regular chef was out or some other reason. It was "good" but not "perfect" as usual.
We come to Joey's whenever we come to the Walls. Great selection and delicious food. Only complaint is level of noise.
Service very poor but still a fun place to go in Wynwood
Very nice servers and prompt and attentive even as the place filled up. Good size but not monstrous portions
Great service and the food was to par!
The service was really good, and our waitress fantastic and attentive. However, this is not the Joey's that I have dined at before. The bread basket came with very thinly sliced pieces of bread. For what you are paying to eat here, a small loaf or maybe thicker/warmer slices would be better. The food was average--not exceptional.
What a disaster. I ordered a couple of entrees and a bottle of wine for my girlfriend after having some appetizers. While I was waiting for the entrees, I excused myself to go the restroom. When returning from the restroom I ran into some people I knew at the bar restaurant and I started talking to them for a few minutes. Keep in mind the bar is located in the middle of the restaurant. While this was going on,
they delivered the entrees to my table. My girlfriend went to get me from the bar to let me know the food arrived. When we returned to the table our entrees were all gone. We asked the waiter where did our food and wine go and he said he thought we left the restaurant. This is a small restaurant so how could he not see we where at the bar. I asked him to please return the entrees and wine to the table. They said they could not as they threw them away! So they threw it away within a couple of minutes of them serving them at the table
Who does that. So then I asked them to re prepare the food and they said they would have to charge me twice for the food and wine. I told them that was unacceptable and they created this mess. They demanded I immediately pay for everything including the entrees and wine that nobody drank that they threw away. They threatened to call the police if I didn’t. They ended up running 349 dollars on my card that I did not authorize . In addition I didn’t sign the bill since I wasn’t going to pay for something they threw away in their own error. To make matters worse I found out 2 days later they actually decided to add a 100 dollar tip to something I never signed. This waiter and possibly the manager is a complete thief. I will be taking appropriate action against these crooks who committed this credit card fraud against their customer. What a bunch of bad people.
Worst dining experience of my life.
Food was good but service was “lost in translation”...
Better supervision seems to be needed... Too much chaos and lack of effectiveness... On top of forgetting half the things we asked for!
Amazing waitress and staff. Polite and sweet. Food amazing. Gnocchi in pink sauce is awesome.
Food was great, but my vegan friend didnt have any options... they prepared a vegan pizza for her that she loved it, so maybe they can just add a couple of vegan options in the menu to make lives of vegans easier!
Terrible in every way. Worst meal and service I have had in a long while.
Normally it's a bit noisy outside with cars and tourists, today was specially noisy due to construction and the music being louder that usual. Hopefully it will be back to "noisy" soon!
I GO TO JOEY'S OFTEN TO CELEBRATE EVENTS AND FOR GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE.
Overall good experience
El servicio fue bastante deficiente y no muy amigable.
Only issue exists outside this wonderful restaurant where a parade of morons park and blast music at unimaginable decibel levels. It’s incredible that the police don’t stop this!
They got our order incorrect and forgot to bring out a dish- then proceeded to service completely raw Chicken. My son has severe food allergies and thank god they kept in safe but they did bring his pasta w cheese despite us asking for no cheese. The staff was nice and took off our chicken dishes but after serving it raw and me saying something, they left it in front of me and it was such a turn off- would never go back!
Took a long time to get seated even with reservation. The place is very busy so service is slow. Tables outside are very close together. Noise level is high because of density of seating.
Food is very average at best.
I have not received my Open Table points a week after dining even after calling them to remind them. No promised phone follow up either.
Outstanding service, amazing food. Just a little loud, but other than that it was perfect.
My reservation was confirmed and when we got there it was closed. We had show tickets and had planned our evening. We had to scramble to find someplace else. Valet said they were closed for a holiday party. They should have adjusted Open Table to reflect this and not take reservations.
Worst experience of my one week trip to Miami. Horrible bean soup (tasted like it came out of a can). Very average pizza. Terrible service. Busboy too busy chatting with a buddy to acknowledge my request for water. They don’t care because 20% tip is automatically added to bill regardless of level of service. Central location in touristy area lets Joey’s get away with it. Will never go back.
We were very impressed with the food quality and service, especially considering the restaurant was packed full during Art Basel. The new landscaping outside is well done and better integrates with the Wynwood energy on the street. Nice job- We will be back soon
Very polite and knowledgeable waitress. Some vegan menu options. Soup of the day is vegan. This time, red bean soup. Nice bowl, lots for beans, flavorful, filling. Could use a little less salt. Two vegan pasta options. Spaghetti pomodoro was a good choice. House salad (small size), hold the cheese was nice.
Hope tofu, seitan or some other options or entrees will be added in the near future.
Plenty of staff around and cleared plates timely. Prices could be a little lower but it is Wynwood. Outdoor seating was pleasant. Recommend making a reservation, it does get busy.
It was my husband bday. I made sure I mentioned as I place the reservation and also mentioned to the maitre D and the waiter but no one made any effort to make it special.
The food was really good. The pizza was great
Joeys is one of my fave restaurants in wynwood. The service is always great and the food never disappoints. We always get the Dolce E picante pizza- DELICIOUS sweet and spicy and a pasta to share. We got the gnocchi with the meat sauce. I’ve also had the gnocchi with the four cheese sauce both are amazing. The food is always so good and fresh!
Great customer service
We had the best dinner here. Such great flavor in the dishes we had. Got the salmon house salad and added salmon and it was amazing? My boyfriend got the spicy shrimp pasta and it was also incredible. We will definitely be coming back.
We had a fantastic server. He gave us great recommendations. We ate inside, although Joey's has a great patio for dining. The music is a little too loud. By the time dessert arrived, I was tired of screaming to communicate with our friends. I never asked for the music to be turned down, but perhaps I should have, as my husband said the same thing when we got home. Overall a great place to grab a bite.
Very nice staff, amazing food. We had a great time.
Not so great. Food was mediocre and very expensive. Beet salad was a tomato salad. Small chicken parm portion, over done, and I have had better from a frozen box. Embarrassed that I made the recommendation to my friends.
I had a great time and I'm definitely coming back. The food was delicious. The ambiance is delightful. The service was great.
Great place to eat during Wynnwood Art walk! Everything was delicious at a great price.
Great lunch. Can’t beat location
Local gem Friendly staff
Amazing service and amazing food!!! I will definitely be back!
Used to be better
always great food and dining experience , everyone very friendly here !
Overpriced for what you get
I reserved a table but they sat us outside. It was extremely noisy and hot. We had to return the food bc it was extremely salty. Server was very nice and attentive.
Exemplary service and the food was divine.
Exactly what we wanted red wine and delicious Italian food. Order the Gnocchi and chicken parmigiana.
Our waitress Rocky was so sweet, so fun, just perfect.
The manager stopped to check the table and was also such a pleasure. Loved our dining experience.
