Joey Gerard's - A Bartolotta Supper Club - Greendale Ratings and Reviews
Really wanted to have a great evening to celebrate my husband's and daughter's birthdays. Our server, Jeighsen, was inattentive throughout the entire meal. Kept telling us how busy he was and then proceeded to ignore us. Drinks took 15 minutes, one left at the bar, appetizer was good, but an unacceptable wait. Had to ask multiple times for a wine list. Very frustrating to say the least. Our food arrived and my husband's fish was fine. I had the toughest Steak Diane I have ever had. Tasted like a piece of overcooked round steak, absolutely drenched in sauce. My daughter's bernaise "sauce" came to the table in a congealed clump. Plates were cleared one at a time, even though we were all clearly done with the meal. Carrot cake was served ice cold-straight from the fridge. Then we were were treated to a sales pitch for a dining card, discounts, loyalty points etc. Loved the interior dining room but should have taken a picture because I'll never see it again.
My husband and I took our family here for our anniversary. I stated it was our anniversary in our reservation and upon arrival, the hostess stated "congratulations on your anniversary." Our waitress, Kim, did not want to take our entree order right away, instead encouraging us to get an appetizer, which I thought was odd. The place was busy, so I was confused. However, I waved Kim over shortly thereafter and stated we were ready to place our food order (5 people). She seemed irritated and was snotty when taking our order, never repeating our orders back to us. Kim only visited our table once in the beginning to bring our drinks. 30 minutes later, we were wondering where she was, since we wanted to order more drinks. We waved down a busboy walking by and asked him to please find our waitress, whereas Kim abruptly appeared, pushing the busboy out of the way, stating he didn't know what he was doing. At this point, I'm getting fed up with her attitude. We call the manager over and explain the situation to her. The manager is quick to defend Kim, stating Kim is not like that! So, after that, Kim starts acting nicer-superficially. At the end of our meal, she brings the bill. My husband tells her it is our anniversary and asks if we could get a compliment dessert or something. Kim states she asked if he wanted dessert, and he said he was pretty full, so that's why she (Kim) didn't offer dessert!!?? Come on! We frequently visited Joey Gerards in Mequon before they turned into Mr. B's and LOVED the service and ambiance. This place I would rate a 2/10 and never return.
The entire meal was fabulous: I ordered the chopped salad (fabulous); the popovers (excellent); the Steak Diane (sauce is to die for... the steak was a bit tough, but delicious... I ordered it medium well - my sister ordered medium... both were tough. We had coffee (very tasty)... I would order the Steak Diane the next time I go... because the dish is so tasty.
We were very pleased with our recent meal at Joey Gerard's . Several raved about the prime rib, and a couple of others were quite pleased with the ribs. The service was top-notch and the birthday guest loved the Shaum Torte. The coffee was a disappointment, not very hot and on the bitter side. Overall, the experience was above average and I would take guests in the future.
Ashley was an unbelievable server! Very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful! Best steak ever! Loved the glazed carrots! Ok reliable was, well reliable !! Grasshopper, excellent!! Making the reservation was easy with “open table”. Pricey, but, you get what you pay for !! Excellent job folks!
Very nice handling of our special occasion. Judy made sure that we had the "priceless" guest menus we requested which required extra work on her part. She informed the staff from front desk staff to our server, Jayson, what was our wish for the handling of our guests. Jayson was great. Very informative and knowledgeable. He was kind enough to bring to our table glasses of champagne for a toast without being asked. Celebrating our son's engagement with his fiancée and her parents was spot on due to their incredible service.
this is a little bit of a mixed bag. I had steak Diane and it was a little tough and the brandy sauce was quite thick. I have had better in my life. My husband had the trout almondine and it was delicious. Also, our waiter was excellent . Very attentive without being in the way. When he found out it was our anniversary he brought over a shaum torte.
I guess I would say that Joey Gerrards may need to step up its game. It definitely has a unique opportunity as far as being a Bartolottas restaurant and all the good will that comes with that and also a great idea of a supper club but the food should be at a higher level .
This was our first time here and we had a very nice dinner. The BACON appetizer was delicious, we have very good salads (Caesar and Wedge), the Filet was really good, the strip was good, and the Prime rib was very good. Its a supper club atmosphere (a bit loud) but the food was outstanding. We will come back again.
This seems to be our go-to place for a great meal with great service. It's close to the freeway when we need to get to a show in Milwaukee, and fairly close to home. We generally ask for a certain server, but all the servers are so professional and helpful! The menu is very classic supper club, from the relish and bread trays to the schaum torte. This was the first time I ever ordered the Friday fish fry (we're always there on weekends) and it was crisp, flavorful, with really super potato pancakes! Can't wait to go back again!
