Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab - Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
Our dining experience at Joe's was awesome! We had a very seasoned (and and amazing) waiter named Peter that helped us with a few decisions. We chose to split a 12 oz Bone-In Filet that was incredible, two 10 oz lobster tails that were cooked to perfection, and even the sides (broccolini and mashed potatoes) and Caesar salad were great. While this is not a restaurant we could afford to eat at every weekend, it is worth the price and lives up to everything we heard and/or read.
Expensive is always the first word that comes to mind when I think Vegas. Especially when it comes to good food. Let's face it, a majority of the time you're paying for ambiance or a particular chef. My experience at Joe's was all of the above for the average cost of an entree at a steakhouse. The food was cooked perfectly and they had amazing red wine. I would go back. The server wasn't very attentive and never really checked up on us, but the food was great and it was exactly what we were looking for after a mid-level day of travel. Definitely worth it!
Reservation was for 8.30. Did not get seated til 9.30. I checked in 10 minutes early and was told that they are running 20 minutes behind, which is understandable. I check with manger again at 9, table was not ready, again 15 minutes later. I told him that I was entertaining a client and this is not acceptable. We finally was seated at 9.30. No apologies, no na-da
They had me at stone crab claws, but everything else we had was excellent as well. My wife and I ordered two different dishes and sort of split them, which ended being an excellent idea! My sea bass was sweet while her ahi tuna was savory. By alternating bites, we were in heaven. The George Pinot Noir was an excellent find and paired really well with everything.
Started off a tad shaky with a 20 min delay in seating and indifferent host. Then we sat to ha e a drink at the bar and I mistakenly dropped my room key and the bus person saw it and picked it up for me. Really kind too. Was seated and our server was fantastic. I had the ribeye and it was perfect temperature, medium rare and bursting with flavor. My business partner had the striped sea bass and it was also well prepared and delicious. The food was prompt and it was a great evening. Will be back.
We enjoyed a lunch with our wait staff, Todd. He was friendly and helpful making our selections. I enjoyed the wine he suggested very much with the stone crab lunch special. Todd also warned us that the sides that accompany the meal are large, so we shared the potato dish and coleslaw, which were both delicious. I really like the flatbread served in the bread basket. Fantastic!
We come to Joe's most every year for our anniversary weekend. It's usually great, but we must have hit it on an off night. We always have the Snow Crab Claws, and although they were very good, they weren't cracked properly and the large claws were not as meaty as usual. Very tasty though and would've been better if small pieces of shell weren't everywhere. Hard to take a bite without hurting your tooth. The coleslaw tasted vinegary and the crab bisque was OK.Dessert was pretty good- banana cream pie which needed a touch more sugar and coconut cream pie that was mostly whipped cream. We had a good $70 bottle of 2013 Merlot, and it was lovely sitting on the patio. Our waiter just went thru motions but smiled a lot. A little disappointing this trip, but we'll go again. Love their stone crabs even with the shell:)
