Joe's Café is a classic Santa Barbara dining and drinking institution and is the oldest restaurant in the city, established in 1928. The legacy of Joe's continues into it's ninth decade: Over the years, this vibrant downtown destination has become a favorite for locals and tourists alike, who mingle over cocktails (the stiffest in town) or chat during dinner in a buzzing traditional atmosphere. The exceptional ambiance underscores its rich heritage and long history. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7:30 a.m. til 10:00 p.m. or stay later and get to know our locals at one of the busiest bars in town.

Joe's has a very homey feel. The menu is filled with diner-like comfort foods. The staff is very friendly and welcoming; I see why this has been a Santa Barbara staple.

They have a nice bar where the cocktails are good and strong!

Joe’s is the best! Been going there since 1978. Great food and strong drinks. A must do if you are from out of town.

We went Joe’s for my birthday breakfast and it should be something very American. We ordered Joe’s omelette and banana pancakes, to drink coffee, cappuccino and fresh squeezed orange juice. They’ve too much of potion for us but we loved it very much. By the way the omelette tasted really like my mom’s homemade. ❤️

Not sure how this restaurant gets the ratings it does. I eat out A LOT. The service was less than average and the food was diner quality. Specifically, I had the raviolis in meat sauce and it was just "ok." The cornbread was dry and wasn't delivered with the advertised "butter/honey" that was on the menu. The server was nice, but his english wasn't great and he was handling too many tables to be of good service. If you're going to advertise that you're the oldest restaurant in town and deserve my business, please provide some ambiance or food to validate that claim.

The waitress was super nice and really fun. The prime rib is to die for... and on a trip back to the bathroom I noticed they had pie. OMG, the blackberry pie was the topper to a fantastic mean. I am sooo going back as soon as I can.

I have been dining at Joe's for almost 50 years. The drinks are stiff, the food is reliably good, and the price is right. The calamari steak is highly recommended.

Joe's is always a great time. They reserved my table for me through OpenTable without a problem. I love Joes and have been dining there since 1978. It's like home. A must see for people visiting. Always recommended.
