I have been going to Joe's for years. I can always count on the restaurant to be consistent across the board.
I felt special and I was given a table right away. We were checked on and served in between shifts. Our server came a few minutes after the shift change and was very nice. She took our order and made sure we had drinks and bread. We had a great time. It was quiet and peaceful. It was very clean and the staff was very kind.
We had a great Easter Brunch! The food was delicious. Everything from the kids grilled cheese, 1/2 rack of ribs, the Halibut and mushrrom risotto and the eggs with fliet mignon. Our server was prompt and very personable!
Dinner was not great ...our burgers we're missing toppings, overcooked and underwhelming.
While the food was good, server appeared bored and a bit cranky when my colleague requested a clean glass for her iced tea (lipstick on the rim) ewe and New silverware (dirty fork). Music was playing too loud at lunch considering there were very few diners there. Overall a bit disappointed
We went back to Joe's where we have had a number of family gatherings and celebrations . This night we had special family in from out of town for a birthday surprise. I mentioned that my reservation was for a birthday yet it was never mentioned or noticed by staff. Food was good but not as good as it used to be. Interior is getting tired.
This place is not keeping up. Still good but could be better.
Extremely understaffed. Sat at table at 8pm for an OpenTable reservation scheduled for 7:30pm ..... 3 Host/Hostess, waiters and waitresses were scrambling around, waited 15 min after we sat at table before a waitress even came by. Took drink order 1 wine 1 iced tea and 2 waters..... wine showed up after entrees even, though we asked 3 times. Waitress never wrote down our order..... guess what happened (2 of the three soups ordered were wrong (sent back and never saw them again) 2 of the four entrees were wrong ( salads ????) and a third entree showed up 10 min after the others. I understand the restaurant business, but it’s happened too often at this restaurant. Everyone knew we were not happy (did not make a scene) ...... but you would have thought a manager or host would come by and acknowledge the situation...... never saw anyone.
Server was capable and pleasant. Dining with a friend. Both had salads which were good. Bread is delicious. Quite a large crowd, probably due to the recent storm and power outages. Was handled well.
We will not be returning. We came here only because we could make a last minute reservation on a busy night, and when we arrived the host implied he would be seating everyone on the wait list first since our reservation had just come in, then told my husband he was being rude for inquiring about it. Ordered a red blend and they brought out a bottle of Zinfandel and were very confused when we said that was not what we ordered. Food was sub-average - my husband's steak looked like it was cooked as a roast and then sliced up - only the edges were seared.
Joe's is a neighborhood gem and we are always happy to have a casual meal there, particularly when with young children, who are treated very nicely.
Lobster Roll for only $21.00 was the perfect appetizer when shared between my husband and I. Not surprising when you learn that the restaurant group that owns Joe's also owns Atlantic Fish in Boston. Hubby had a grilled chicken sandwich which came on a delicious french bread. I ordered the lobster mac & cheese and was very pleased with the flavors of the cheese and lobster. They also brought us a delicious loaf of bread & butter for the table. Our waitress was great! She promptly refilled our beverages and checked back to be sure we had everything we needed. My husband just had to try the warm skillet cookie for dessert which he enjoyed immensely. We will definitely be back as we had a very nice dining experience.
Even with a reservation, we waited 15 minutes to order bread and cocktails. The meals took excessively long, (our server apologized) . The chicken piccata: There was so much water on the plate because the pasta hadn’t been properly drained. There was NO sauce and the chicken looked pale white (boiled) with a slight brown color (quickly heated on grill). It was sent back, with my decline for a replacement.
Two orders of 7oz filet. One was ordered as medium well, it came out very red. The second was fine and enjoyed.
As we were celebrating our daughters engagement, our desserts were comped, which was very kind.
We’ve been patrons of this location of Joe’s for well over ten years and noticed that the overall quality continues to decline. Unfortunately, we will no longer be visiting and wish the location well.
The Menu seems more limited than years past. They did have prime rib on the regular every day menu but $29 seems rather pricey for it but the portion was excellent. It had a spice rub which had an odd church incense like flavor/scent to it, would to know what that is. It was interesting. The sides were excellent but my husband did not like his clam chowder which had a weird flavor and had to send it back. Also $3 for coffee and Iced Tea seems excessive too. The place was only 1/3 full for Valentine's Day. I loved the mashed potato and crispy green beans.
The service was excellent but the food was just average for the above average price. My 11 year old grandson wanted beef and had to get a $29 meal for steak tips. This was the only option.
Food is decent, but martinis skimpy and weak.
All was well, very good overall.. the staff was excellent
Disappointing menu with decreased selections.
Empty at 8pm on a Friday but service was painfully slow and inattentive.
For the money: go across to Legacy Place
Been there before started out OK when the meal came is was like warm and looked over cooked.
Good food in a friendly neighborhood atmosphere, but wine prices much too high - $13-14 for many of their glasses of wine not reasonable at all.
Salads were exceptionally fresh and full...the grilled honey chicken soft and delicious....
There is a new ownership of Joes. The menu is small, and food (at least mine) was absolutely inedible. I complain to the wait person, and it was taken off my bill. I don't want a replacement or courtesy free meal. I have been coming to this restaurant since it was JC Hillarys. Also, the new manager, was unhelpful, and was clueless about the reservation I had. It was noon, and unlike in the past, the restaurant was empty. Obviously, news spreads about the changes.
Not what it used to be. Food was just OK, took to long, and was not particularly hot when it arrived. Long periods of not seeing our server, but she did give the birthday girls free dessert which was very nice.
Restaurant really busy with theaters letting out and shoppers calling it a day. Service kind of slow at first but picked up and was fine. Food hit the spot —especially delicious on such a cold night with its warmth and good taste.
I NEVER leave a review but so many things went wrong. We met friends there on New Years Eve.
They were out of the beer I ordered
Food came cold
Service not great
Very knowledgeable about allergies, specifically gluten.
Instant seating with friendly waiter. Before we finished two bites of their delicious warm bread our tasty salads were brought to us. Very fast service - kudos to all!
Joe’s was the perfect spot for a post Stars Wars dinner! We brought six grand children to the movie and then to Joe’s. We were seated immediately and served promptly. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Food was perfect for this special group!
Nothing special about this place. Plenty of other restaurants around legacy place that I’d put ahead.
No frills. Simple menu with a good variety and attentive service.
Always good food, pleasant surroundings and great wait staff.
Joe's is a great option for casual dining in Dedham. I love the location to Legacy Place, making it a great before or after shopping spot! The restaurant has plenty of space to accommodate large parties.
The waiter was very nice. They recently revised the menu, with a limited selection. Overall would recommend.
Our service was great. I liked that our server brought your yummy bread right after we were seated while we were looking at the menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals-great salads!
Bad service, bad food, ran out of dessert on thanksgiving giving special so had to buy dessert. Bad music too loud to relax. Never again
The music was too loud and after many requests management made it clear they would not turn down the music. The turkey was excellent but the stuffing was awful. George our server was friendly, accommodating and he made up for sub par ambience.
We always enjoy going to Joes for thanksgiving. The food is better than I could ever cook and
I just eat and enjoy. It was only $25 a person for a three course thanksgiving meal.
We will be back again next year.
Thanksgiving. Great except the hostel sat us and it seems the water changed or she didn’t inform waiter we were there. So we sat for about 10 Mina before being greeted
Nice easy restaurant for a family with kids. Well prepared basic food is fine for casual dining.
Great experience. everyone in our party enjoyed the food and ambience. I would recommend it to all of our friends. Thanks for a great experience!
Great place for friends get together! Felt like youthful atmosphere. Food very good!
