View Private Dining DetailsExcellent food.
After waiting 30+ minutes for our reservation, we were seated and had our order taken. The food came out quickly and it tasted good. Pricing is a bit high— $18 for a salad is steep— but it was good.
Friendly, noisy, young scene. Comfort food was very good, especially all the appetizers and the burgers. Very much a Boston collegiate and young professional kind of scene on a Friday evening. It's certainly not dining, but the waiters are attentive and the crowd expects good food to pop out of the kitchen to keep the party going. Joe's gets the job done.
Service was excellent! Our group of 10 was seated immediately and served drinks and apps quickly, despite the restaurant being absolutely packed with marathon go-ers. Nice work, Joe's!
We were asked to leave because we could only have the table for 2hours, which we were unaware of. We hadn't stopped ordering food and drinks and yet our bill was brought over and we were asked to leave because of this two-hour time limit. I didn't find anywhere in a TOS or T&C that says there is a limit to the table time. I understand if we aren't ordering food and or drinks but not only were there empty tables but the staff was rude about the whole thing. Disappointing.
Steak wasn’t allowed to rest before serving. Mash was full of big lumps.
Great venue and well worth a visit, thoroughly enjoyed.
Joe's never disappoints. Consistently good food and service. Gluten free options.
We made reservations for a large party on a busy weekend. Service was excellent and the food was great!
Great food to eat before the marathon! Sits awesome in your stomach and prepares you for the next day.
We had a lovely lunch at Joe's American Grill. The restaurant is very comfortable, the staff is pleasant, and the food is delicious. My daughter has Celiac disease and they had a wide variety of options, including french fries, and are extremely careful about cross contamination. And the price was very reasonable. It's a great place to eat in downtown Boston!
Waiter had attitude, and was slow to bring water, which was very important to the marathon runner with us. Music was too loud at our table on the patio.
Food was very average, beer selection was average but was overly noisy with unseated people spilling into the seating area and blocking the stairs.
It was super busy after the B.A.A. 5k during marathon weekend. We got in fast and had great service.
The service was average and we had to wait for a long time even though we had a reservation.
Love the grilled honey chicken salad and that bread!
My server had an attitude from the moment I was seated. He was angry because I asked for a menu variation which he blatantly refused until a manager was requested.
The entire experience was taunted by his manner.
Great place! Lobster Roll superb! From Maine. A little loud but ok.
An 8 party group all found everything to be beyond perfection. The food, the drinks, and the atmosphere were outstanding. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
I made a reservation for 20, not knowing how many would be joining us for lunch following my granddaughter’s Baptism. We were only 12, & were shown to a private room which was wonderful for visiting with one another. The menu had lots of choices and everyone seemed happy with their selection. I had a delicious Cobb salad. Our server was friendly & efficient and the food came out really quickly. I would definitely choose Joe’s again if I were in the area.
Great. Friendly service.
Mary Jo our server was AMAZING. The El Diablo burger was spicy but delicious and the bread is light and fluffy. Definitely recommend this location but be aware that it can get noisy!
Food was average at best. Convenient location on the main strip of Newberry.
My son is a sophomore at BC. This is his favorite place to eat when we come up to visit from Philly.
Nice thanks
The food was delicious, the atmosphere was comfortable, and our server, Anastasia, provided outstanding service!
Service is always excellent. We visit every time we are in Boston. They are exceptional with my allergy. Entire family loves Joe’s!
only place that has a menu not brunch for Easter . Do not like the high tops that we were forced to sit in..
I took my son and his friends from school for Easter Brunch. We all enjoyed our meals, the atmosphere was fun, prices were reasonable, and the service was great! Could not ask for more!
Joe's is always a good go-to spot for a meal when I'm visiting my daughter at college. This time we went for brunch. It was loud, but fun. It was warm enough that the front windows were open halfway & heaters were on overhead. Food was tasty, waiter was a little dry :)
Easter Brunch 2018. Excellent all around! Thank you.
We adored our server - I wish I remembered her name, but she was a breath of fresh air and incredibly kind to our two very “busy” toddlers. Can’t say enough good things about her! She’s the type of person you can tell, who could be great at anything, simply due to her amazing attitude, and service like that would make an already lifetime customer, an even happier one. Thank you!
The brunch menu is limited, but the regular menu is available. Cheese and chive omelet was delicious, but accompaniments were not. Home fries were deep fried potato wedges and the bread was a hard, dry, mass-produced English muffin. I would have expected more from a $15 omelet entree.
NOT a dinner place. Apps and beers with friends-yes! I took my wife and young kids there for a night on the town, no one finished their plates, no one said anything about their dinners in fact. I can only assume they were being polite.
Great food. Terrific service. Thank you Joe’s!
Consistently good comfort food. They have really good Mac & cheese and burgers!
Chill, nice server did everything correctly good service!
They had a private event downstairs so they canceled the music upstairs... which is why we were going. And they crowded so many people upstairs, we could not hear each other.
My husband and I went for brunch after Palm Sunday service. Our reservation was fine and we were brought immediately to our seat. We were given lovely bread to eat with butter. My husband got a cocktail and hot tea for me.
Waiter was polite but scattered- kept asking the same questions. Maybe he was new? Two of my soft boiled eggs had raw whites which is not what I ordered. The toast came out late and was burnt. The bacon was nearly raw. My husband had the crab cake eggs Benedict- said it was kind of fishy in a bad way.
We’ve eaten here before. This is the first time the food was regrettable.
Food is always solid and service is always great. Large restaurant (lots of tables downstairs) in fun area of Newbury St.
