Joe Vicari's Andiamo Italian Steakhouse @ The D Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
This is our second visit and we were not disappointed! The table side Cesar salad is the best we've ever had and will continue to refer friends and come back! The corkage fee was over priced. The Filet was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. Our waiter was very accommodating as was the entire staff, including the hostess'. Love the booth seating too. I think this is one of the finer establishments downtown and easy to get in and out of. A must for anyone staying at the D or visiting!
We went to this restaurant based solely upon it’s a rating of number 1 in all l Las Vegas. This is the first time I am sure that the “ballot box has been stuffed”. This place is not even in the top 100! Let’s review…
The restaurant is located downtown in an old ( formerly Fitzgeralds) casino/hotel. It is right above the casino so it reeks of smoke. The entrance to the restaurant is between the casino’s restrooms and the escalator so there is always a crowd lingering by.
We arrived early for our 6 PM reservation but for some reason we were seated at the absolutely farthest table along the back wall. We were hemmed in by larger tables so we could not easily move to say use the rest room. Since there were larger groups seating at the same time as us it appeared that 2 waiters debated who would serve us. I guess our waiter lost. He came to our table with no introduction. He never offered us any specials or explanation of unique menu items. We did hear some of the explanation from the server at the other tables.
We ordered the Caesar’s Salad to be made tableside, a bottle of wine and two steaks. The salad was not made tableside due to the aforementioned crowding (although the 2 person table next to us with a different waiter did have theirs made tableside). The waiter just showed up with the salad, unfortunately it was loaded with croutons which neither of us wanted.
Our bread arrived approximately the same time as the salad. Nothing was brought with the bread ( say , for example, butter, olive oil or balsamic vinegar). We asked the waiter for some and he said “ we do not serve those here”. We did notice other tables with all three.
Our steaks arrived and they were only warm and dry. They had obviously been sitting somewhere for a while. The filet was tough and had lots of gristle. We did not send it back because by this time we wanted to just get out of there.
So we has a smelly restaurant with poor service and poor quality food. That is not number 1 in my book.
Happy New year! I have been a patron several times. It is the best find to me and my hubby in town. We feel that, we have experienced the top of the line steak and wine resturants ever. We feel that, it just doesn't get any better or there isn't more class to be found in Las Vegas. Some things you can't improve on but just add to the best, more amenities. Hopefully, I've let you know just how we feel. Great place to dine anytime, any day of the year. The Boyd's
This was my third time eating at Andiamo. The steaks are excellent, and the Caprese salad is awesome. You will not go wrong with any of the side dishes either. The servers are very well versed in all of the menu items and can assist in answering any questions or recommending anything. Overall, I highly recommend Andiamo as a premier steakhouse in the Fremont area.
Food was good except the maitre d’ need a lesson in customer service. Requested booth seating. According to the maitre d’, booth seating was only for parties of three or more, even though I saw two tables with couple seated in a booth. The food and our waiter (Johnny) was great, because the maitre d’ did not accommodate my request for a booth seating, I will not recommend this restaurant nor come back.
We had a fantastic time on December 29, 2017. We were celebrating with our son and his girlfriend (that he proposed to after dinner). Our waiter was very professional but still made us laugh (can't remember his name but grew up in Colorado ), hostesses were great as were the men filling water and taking dirty dishes. Appetizer (meatballs), meal (sirloin and salmon), dessert ( tiramisu and wedding cake), wines (syrah and port) were among the best meals we have ever had. We will return on our next trip to Vegas.
We have dinner at this restaurant every time we come to Las Vegas. The "Tomahawk" steak with Zip sauce is fantastic! Our servers, especially Hugo, are excellent and never fail to take care to let guests know they are special, just because they came by. The atmosphere is elegant but cozy; large and small groups are always well cared for and intimate dinners are made even more special.
We can't imagine visiting Las Vegas and not having, at least one, dinner at Andiamos!
Everything was incredibly tasty including the three sauces I got with my steak. My only complaint that portions are HUGE. I am not a small guy and I was only able to eat half of everything. Each side as well as my salad could easily be shared, so keep that in mind when ordered. Also the service was great, and my waiter was a real character, very warm and personal.
Food was great - as it has been in the past - I.e. reason for
our return. Service was NOT good. I actually started to fall asleep waiting for our main course (entree). They apologized after my husband had had enough and went up to find out where our meal was. There were six of us and evidently a party of 14 (that came in after us) took priority. Attempted to smooth (sweeten) things over with deserts (free of charge) which helped with the others but not with the ones paying the bill. Just a little disappointed as it was our family Christmas dinner.
Amazing food with great ambiance. The service was great and the portions were even better. The staff did their best to try to recreate a cake I had from back home for our anniversary... I give an A+ for effort, the cake wasn't as good. However our entrée was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a great date night.
I was looking for a great place for my husbands birthday dinner. The reviews were good and I wanted to try something off of the strip. We were seated immediately and received quick service with our initial water etc. Danny was our server and he was very attentive but didn’t over linger. We both ordered steaks and shared an amazing table side prepared Ceaser salad. We opted for the Mac and cheese lobster ziti for our side. Everything wS wonderful. Try the zip sauce. The flavor was so good! We received a complimentary dessert which we so appreciated! This restaurant compares to El Gaucho in Seattle. A couple tips- valet park at the hotel and ask for a booth. The booths are quiet, secluded and cozy. Very romantic or just good for a quiet conversation. We will definitely return.
Food was excellent! We had a meal where some people needed the meals delivered earlier based on them attending a show and the restaurant easily accommodated. The steaks were excellent and the ambiance is that of "old vegas". A "heads up" is that the restaurant is located in an older casino, so getting to the restaurant is not the same feeling as the newer bigger casinos. We turned it into a positive by really enjoying Freemont after the dinner.
My wife and I were celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary and selected Joe Vicari's Andiamo Italian Steakhouse for dinner. This was the best decision we made on our trip to Las Vegas! The service was top notch, A+++. Our waiter, Paul, went the extra mile to ensure our evening and dinner was special. thank you, Paul, for the amazing job you did assisting us with our wine selection and other questions. Our steaks were perfect! My wife and I ordered bone-in ribeye steaks. The steaks were medium rare, moist and tender. My wife ordered the beet salad. Oh my God! It was a taste of heaven! Thank you for a great evening. Your Italian Steakhouse is #1 in Vegas!
