Joe Theismann's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Theismann’s is glorified, really really good casual/bar food. Liked all the TVs, but the food distracts you. The caprese flatbread pizza was the among the best things I’ve ever tasted, and the tuna appetizer was also so good. Fries were above par and service was outstanding. Ok, we also have bets as to the best bread pudding on the east coast and the chocolate chip here is right up there.
Just so easy and good. We have plenty of reastaurants around us, but we take the metro and have a short hop across the street. Would recommend and will go again.
We were entertaining Friends visiting from out of town. The restaurant was very close and convenient to their hotel so it was a perfect location. It was happy hour so the bar was busy and loud. Our waiter was efficient but not very personable. Our guests enjoyed their meals and I had only one complaint - the gumbo soup tasted to me as if the roux base had been overcooked. Overall we had a very good meal and would definitely try this restaurant again.
I found my new favorite restaurant. This is an upscale sports bar, with amazing food, great service, and perfect noise level. Our server, Carly was excellent coming over at just the right times. I had the rockfish and my husband had the pork chops, both delicious. You can see a tv from every seat so as not to miss a moment of the game. After dinner we went to the bar, to find friendly patrons and helpful bartenders. Overall an excellent experience.
Another fine evening of dining at Theismann’s Restaurant. As usual the restaurant had maybe a hundred diners with a couple dozen other customers gathered in the bar area. But no matter how many customers the restaurant may have, because of its high capacity, there almost always seems to be room for one more group of incoming folks. The atmosphere is casual and friendly and the food is high quality and at a reasonable price. Recommend giving Theismann’s restaurant a try if you have not done so.
I've been here a few times over the years but was sent a Birthday gift from Joe Theismann's Restaurant as a buy one get one free dinner. So I decided that my wife and I would go last Wednesday night and it was great. The food and service were more than we could have ask for. I would highly recommend Joe Theismann's Restaurant for any occasion and the food is excellent. Thank you MR Theismann for the birthday certificate we truly enjoyed it.
We went for New Year eve Dinner. Its not fancy. Its a meat and potato kind of place. We wanted something easy. We had the surf and turf special and the pork chop with drinks. We ordered both cuts of meat medium to medium rare. They were done perfectly. Even the veggies were tasty. Service could not have been better and they were very busy that evening ( with two or three football games and the extra new years crowd.
The next time we are in a meat and potatoes mood, we will defiantly keep this place in mind.
A group of (6) us decided to check it out for a NYE dinner. Made the reservation, even with last minute changes, with no issues whatsoever. Arrived on time and our group was seated immediately among a pretty busy place. The bar area was lively as expected and our waiter attended to us immediately. We were quickly offered drinks and the special of the evening and all the food was promptly served. Food tasted good and none of our party had any complaints. Overall a solid dining experience and I will definitely go back again.
While the service was attentive, the food was just ok. I had the Ceasar salad and it was fine but nothing exceptional. For the entree the halibut was dry and was served over a bed of vegtables that were over cooked and slightly on the mushy-side. I finished about half the meal before deciding I was done with it. Just didn't find it an enjoyable dish.
The decor was a bit worn and tired. Time for a re-set. Parking was convenient and complimentary.
A higher end sports establishment. A lot of tv's but they were not really intrusive. Noise level was not bad and ambience was really nice. Food was outstanding. (My party had a good cross selection - Cheeseburger and Fries, Fish & Chips, Scallops, and the California Chicken. All of which was quite good. Service was outstanding (ask for Brandon). Parking garage best option - has interior access/entrance to the restaurant and validates for free parking.
We always enjoy dining at Theismann’s restaurant. Good food at a very reasonable price. Located across the street from King Street metro station, Theismann’s has been serving fine meals to locals and tourists for about 35 years. My wife and I have dined there many times and recommended it to friends. The ambience is casual and warm and inviting. We recently dined there with a friend. The food was good and as usual for any night of the week, we were among more than 100 other diners. Yes, it is a popular place to eat.
Excellent food, Excellent service...great bar ambiance!! Teriyaki wings were delicious, can really taste the flavor...the duck rolls were bangin’...grass fed burger cooked to perfection.... good strong club soda...apple tart ice cream to share for the perfect ending to a great lunch!
The special for the evening was prime rib. We paid $30 each for two prime rib meal’s. The prime rib was almost flavorless, I have never eaten prime rib that did not have any flavor. It also was very tough to cut and full of fat and gristle. Very disappointed in the quality especially for an item that was their special for the night. My son who also ordinate was very disappointed.
We went for Thanksgiving Dinner while on a trip to the area for a Redskins football game. This was not our first experience there, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. The food was excellent as were the various drinks that we tried. The restaurant provided a very warm, relaxed ambiance for our holiday meal.
We have been going to Alexandria to visit family for years and love to take them out. Theisman's can accommodate infants to crotchety old folks with nary a hitch, even with 12 of us. Lots of options for different tastes, too. Nice wines and cocktails. Usually easy to park close (and free). Oh, ask for an appetizer of onion rings. They are not on menu, but those of us who frequent the place know they are made from scratch. Ymm.
