Food was delicious!! Fun/happy environment!
The best thing I can say is the food was adequate. I'm not really sure why the reviews are so good. I'll start with price and the fact I paid $3 for a kids apple juice which wasn't included in her $6 pasta kids meal that barely had any sauce and was somehow overcooked. Next, my eldest daughter's lasagna that looked as though it was just layers of noodles and beef with little to no cheese. My wife's salad was ok looking but she wasn't even offered any dressing options; it came with ranch which tasted like it was out of a kraft bottle. I had the bison bbq burger which was tasty but fell apart because of all of the bbq sauce being directly on top of the bottom bun. We started with the pretzels loaves, they were good but the beer cheese was so runny, it didn't stick to the pretzels at all. The waitress never checked on us throughout the meal so I ran out if water. I would NOT recommend this place.
The food was good, but not great. The ambiance was nice, and the noise level allowed us to visit during our dining experience. The service was good, but not extraordinary. We ate at this restaurant twice during our 4-1/2 day stay, so it was a "go to" place for our dining. We appreciate you being there!
We made a reservation and arrived a few minutes before the time and were told our table was being cleaned and we had to wait but we could see 6 empty tables so presumed it was a power play on the part of the hostess. Had to wait a full 5 minutes for a waitress and probably would have waited longer if we hadn’t asked another waiter to find her. Then a full 5 minutes for a drink, longer than that for bread. Didn’t get a water refill until my meal was finished etc etc. we could see other customers getting better service and the first time we went we got good service. But it was a disappointing birthday dinner. Food was good!
Great light sports ambiance. Turkey burger was really good. Waffle sweet potato fries. Very nice. Service was very good & attentive as well. Will definitely return.
Our favorite local restaurant. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, great atmosphere. Food well prepared and presented. Great fish and chips and the Cab Salad. Good, and well priced house wines and craft beer. Would recommend it to everyone.
Our server made some really good recommendations for dinner and appetizers. Good food, attentive service, we will return...
Always enjoy Theismann's Great place, easy parking. Park in the garage, they stamp your ticket and parking is free. Great fresh food always cooked just right. Great service and friendly staff. Excellent Sunday brunch. Highly recommend
Delicious food. Will frequent this one more often.
We stayed nearby and made reservations in advance based on TAs reviews. The house red wine was excellent! The side salad with our meals was very good, dessert fantastic, but the real surprise was the low cost for everything!! Very affordable so, we came back again!
Crab cake is unbelievable. Wow!
Thanks for everything, will be back.
We stayed in Alexandria while visiting DC. I made reservations via Open Table ahead of time based on reviews, but mostly location. The restaurant was very close to our hotel and I knew we would be tired from a day of sight seeing. Well, we were tired. And hungry. Joe Thiesmann's was excellent. So excellent, that we came back the very next day (I really needed another greens and feta side salad!). The service was wonderful & staff were professional yet down to earth. The food was wonderful.
Never fails to satisfy. Lunch, dinner, brunch, all have been consistently good.
The atmosphere is nice with lots of wood. Bar area with TV for sport viewing. Looks to be a popular spot for after work. The food was good, service was very good. Would go back.
Despite being extremely crowded and rather vibrant, our reservation paid off--we were seated right away in a booth as far from the madding crowd as was possible without being in the private room in back. Even so, it was very loud--to be expected, given its good reputation and the fact that it was Happy Hour. All three courses of our meal were excellent in terms of presentation, taste and timing. Service was a bit off, but not necessarily dismissive. The price was about what we expected. That said, for a quieter visit, we'll plan to dine before of after Happy kicks in in full force. Recommended nonetheless.
Good as always.
Food and Service were great. Evan did an excellent Job. Friendly and informative.
Very accommodating of our young children
Always a good meal in a fun spot with exceptionally good service
Really good food, really good service, great people!
Food overall good. Drinks good service excellent. Special was overpriced and not worth the high price tag.
Food tasted terrific. Wait staff was attentive to special dietary needs. Place was packed but service was prompt. We parked in garage with back entry to restaurant. Very convenient and free 3 hr parking.
I hadn’t been to Joe Theismann’s in awhile but it was tasty as I remembered. Delicious butternut squash soup was followed by an excellent Asian chicken salad with mandarin orange slices, toasted pecans, Chinese noodles and 3 varieties of lettuce. A bargain lunch at $20.
My team and I had lunch here and really enjoyed ourselves. I liked that they took a pre-order so our food was ready shortly after we got there. They were very accommodating and made our event special.
Simply the Best!
My wife took me as a surprise for my birthday. We had a great time and the food and service were excellent. The only disappointment was when my wife made the reservation they offered a free desert, but the restaurant did not provide that during our meal. Other than that we had a great time. Difficult time find a place to park. Clean friendly environment.
We come here quite often, but lately been disappointed in the food. Second time getting the steak special at $34 and again, overcooked.
I have had many horrible experiences at this restaurant, which have been discussed with management, but no improvements. The food is always served cold, and this food is very expensive. I will not return again.
This is an under-rated property because it's been around for over 30 years. However, the service is always spot-on; the meals are prepared quickly and the area has a good vibe.
Not gourmet dining, but it is still better than the chain restaurants at about the same price point.
Our server, Ciara, was fantastic! She knew the right times to come to the table. Our dishes were very tasty. I had the scallops and they were delicious. For once, we ate at a restaurant and didn’t have to talk over music and loud people. Most importantly, we arrived 45 minutes earlier than our reservation and they were able to accommodate us then.
next to metro so easy to get to, made reservations that same day, great service nice happy hour good menu.
This was referred to us by a friend of mine and let me tell you if you want a great steak then this is the pace for you! We ordered the surf and turf and ribeye and it was amazing! Great atmosphere and awesome staff. Jamie was a very attentive and had great suggestions. We will definitely be back!
First time to Joe Theismann's in Alexandria. Offers easy parking, reservations, comfortable relaxed atmosphere, large menu, good service and good food. Two of us had fish, cooked well, and two had other items on menu. Everyone was pleased. Would return.
Great environment, great food, great service!
We went to Joe Theismann’s the day after Valentines Day and had a great evening. The steak was great, as was the service. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. We’ll be back.
One of our favorite places for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Friendly, fun, great service, and the food is always great. Love the Filets!
This has become one of our top "go-to" places. This time it was for Valentine's Day dinner. There are enough really good choices on the menu, that we cane always find a favorite that we are in the mood for
Great place for Valentines dinner.
Jamie was a great waiter. He was patient, respectf6and responsive. All staff provided grand customer service. I recommend. We had a party of 12. No issues.
