First Redskin’s home game.
Enjoyable, but fairly loud. The menu has changed since last winter and is not as broad or attractive to us. There was no salt on the table (plenty of pepper) but the dishes seemed to!be on the salty side.
Will probably return later in the season (tradition).
Made a reservation on A Friday night. Quite crowded, people waiting for a table when we arrived, we were seated immediately at a very comfortable booth. Service was excellent, food was good, prices were very reasonable. Only disappointment, they advertise happy hour from 3-7, not available at dinner tables. Reservations were EZ to make on the app. Would definitely return in the future.
Theisman's should have remained closed until all renovations were completed.
Not happy with the new emphasis on being a sports bar.
They did away with the booths and went for a lounge area.
The music during this visit was overwhelming.
We sat outside, as it was a nice evening. I'm sure everyone will be glad when the construction is completed.
In their defense, they're in the middle of a renovation. Having said that...we had no idea until we arrived. It would have been helpful to know this when I made the reservation and again when I called the day of to increase my numbers. There was no mention that there would be no air conditioning until we arrived, which didn't allow us time to find another restaurant. Also, the management has changed and therefore some of the menu items have changed. The fries are different and I recommend reverting back to the old fries. The service was great, as usual. Always friendly and helpful. I might go again but not until the renovations are finished.
Can't wait to see the renovations completed
under construction with no air condition
Sports bar- thought it was a steak house
menu's offerings were sports bar level
The food was excellent. Everyone was very pleased with their selections. Service was also great.
Unfortunately the restaurant was under construction and the air conditioning was also out of service. To their credit, the staff did call and left a voicemail message about the AC. We didn’t receive that message until after our meal. Nevertheless, points for trying to inform us.
Once the renovations are complete and the AC repaired, I’m confident Joe Theismann’s will deliver a 5-star experience.
Renovation being done
No mention on door or when making reservations
Literally plastic taped to the wall
Sat in dining room with a portable noisy air conditioner running
The temp in the room had to be 75 degrees
Waiters and bus staff sweating
Big mistake going there
Went to Landini instead
Had a cool delicious dinner
Food was awesome despite the construction current ongoing. We will come back because the food excellent
We have a nice brunch for 4 on Sunday. One of the diners has a severe food allergy and the waiter was responsive and careful, so we had no issues. All 4 meals were tasty and sitting outside was very pleasant!! May be our go to brunch place!!!
Great sports bar!
Food was good, slow service, and they are under major renovation and had no AC.
Didn’t know they were renovating when I booked the reservation. AC was not working properly so restaurant was very hot on this 95-degree day. On a positive note, food was good and our server was outstanding.
The restaurant is under construction, but still open. I have been there before construction and will go back once it's completed.
Great food and service it was just under renovation during our visit.
With all the construction going on, dinner was crowded and the service was slow. We won’t return until after the construction is completed.
The construction was a little overwhelming. The food was fantastic as usual and service was great. When the renovations are complete it will be great. Until then I will wait.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Their recommendations were perfect. The food was very good. Had a nice dinner
Great Fish tacos, Sriracha deviled eggs were tasty. Reasonable wine selection for a Sports bar.
This was a great meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp scampi. The waitress was exceptional.
Server was fabulous. Her name was Colleen. Food was good.
We were visiting Mt. Vernon in our way to OBX and stopped off. We had brunch and the kids loved it! Music was a little loud and tables are a bit wore.
Great food for a great price. Excellent service. We went twice in one week while at our conference.
We love Joe T’s...best restaurant at the Metro station-end of Old Town!
We were a little disappointed, as the menu has changed since we were here last, leaving off the grilled lamb chops and other items. The wait staff was attentive and helpful. The food was just OK.
Great meal, great service, great atmosphere!
went for Brunch and the World Cup Finals - the service was very good considering the place was jammed - food was ok, my hash browns were dry, eggs were good - but they forgot the english muffins. Bloody Marys were fine and the beer was cold. the caramel glazed apple doughnuts are just little balls, but are very good, would recommend them just know they are small.
Excellent service and food!
Food prepared perfectly. Champagne Vinaigrette dressing was to die for. Will definitely go back.
Restaurant experience was excellent. Bartender was really loud and he could be heard throughout the establishment. Food was great.
Great place to eat. Wine was awesome and the people helping us was outstanding
Great food. Excellent service. Perfect atmosphere.
The service was great! The food was just... Eh. Probably won't come back.
Good dinner out in Alexandria.
This was our 3rd time at Theismann’s and will be our last. Our waiter took a long time to take our drink order, food order, and to bring our food. We had a party of 5, so it wasn’t and extremely large party and the dinner was on a Thursday night, so the restaurant wasn’t extremely busy. I ordered a portobello mushroom sandwich and the sandwich was filled. Two of us ordered fries and they were cold. Overall disappointed in the service and the food.
There were multiple available tables for two yet we were seated right next to the entrance. I felt like we were seated in the lobby. It was awful and loud and intrusive to have people standing next to us who were waiting to be seated. Ruined the experience for us.
If you're looking for nice size portions of food, I suggest one of the sandwiches or a steak meal. The burgers are awesome here!
Food was mediocre, my order was wrong and had to be redone and it took a long time. Servers were pleasant but slow service.
My wife and I went for our 20th Anniversary. I'm a Redskin fan so I had been wanting to go since 2012 when we moved to Maryland. It was worth the wait. We were seated right away. We had a reservation but either way it was not that busy when we got there. Our waiter Chad was great. He gave a warm welcome and made recommendations on both appetizers and entrees. He came to the table often to check on us. One of the managers came by to talk to us, as well and congratulated us on our anniversary. We talked for a few minutes. As a gift for our 20th we were given complimentary dessert. The food was outstanding! I got the prime ribeye and my wife got the overnight beef short ribs. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. A great experience. We will be back!
