Ask for Bridget. Take all her advice, she knows the best directions! And she can bone a sole like a maestro. The food was great as always too!
Good food and service, way too noisy for a business dinner.
Excellent Service and Excellent Food! Love this restaurant!
Took both of my daughters here for their respective birthdays this past Sunday evening and everything was impeccable. Kudos to the entire staff for making their day memorable.
Food was excellent waiter was a bit short and we ordered 150$ tomahawk and they decided to split it in the kitchen without asking us. Also came with potato but the waiter didn’t know so we ordered more potato but he took it off the bill which made up for it. Noise level was very loud.
We were a group of girls that were there for my 24th birthday. We were seated at a table with a beautiful view and had Alyssa as our server. She was beyond amazing and took the experience to another level. Recommending her version of a drink which we could not get enough of and having the best attitude. She was incredibly accommodating and made sure our dinner was perfect. The food was of course, delicious as always.
Thanks for accommodating my request and thanks to Dan for great service
Great food and service while overlooking the Detroit River and Windsor
This is our go to place for celebrating. Service always top notch, thank you Shannon! Menu always unique and special. We appreciate the consistency overall.
Aimee, our server, was fantastic in every sense! Food was impeccable, and the view of the water was awesome!
Our server, Katrina (336) was outstanding. The tables were a little too close together.
Food and service were very good.
Went for a birthday dinner. Amazing food and friendly staff!
Celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary. Every person who passed us on the way to our table wished us a happy anniversary. We were seated in a nice secluded section and had a fabulous server. Food was fantastic, had a view of the river and a slice of coconut cake topped to top it off. Will definitely eat there again.
It was soooo wonderful. The table was excellent and the waiter and other stay was wonderful. It was my first but not last time there oh and the food was delicious and well presented.
Out celebrating our 25th Anniversary, the Iridescence was closed that day. It was our first time at Joe Muir's and we're not "foodies" so we were quite surprised at the size of the 6 pound lobster dish. Enjoyed it very much however. Would definitely come again and share the lobster amongst others.
I would have rated this experience a all 5 stars however, the concierge service was week in welcoming and unfriendly. We had to wait 20 minutes even tho we had reservations, a couple sitting in the lobby entered before us did not have reservations and they sat them down first. We were greeted with a head lift only no hello or warm welcome. Leaving to get our parking validation validated there was no thank for coming not even a good night he just gave us instructions on how to use the kiosk. The wait staff was amazing, and the food was good but I’m big on welcome and they need to stop the dress code because it was many people in there with jeans and I also saw a hoodie. Overall my experience was ok I get a better experience when it comes to feeling welcomed at out back steak house. The view is nice, but for the price I wouldn’t rather spend that type of money at the David Whitney, you will get a better overall experience walking in, during and leaving
I really want to enjoy joe Muir’s, but I can’t. Slow slow slow service (20 minutes to get a check, 20 minutes more to get it picked up), entrees came out dry having set under a heat lamp for ten minutes (again slow). For the price point, service should be quick, unobtrusive. Food and drink should come out promptly.
They need to re think how servers are assigned to tables. They have plenty of staff, but it takes forever for food to come out and to get the bill settled.
This is the last time I will dine at the downtown Muir’s. Maybe I will try the Bloomfield location.
Can’t say anything bad. Best place to spend Mother’s Day.
Another memorable night celebrating our anniversary. We started by sharing a Caesar salad and a bowl of lobster bisque. Both were perfect starts. Then the entree of 3 fried soft shell crabs atop a crab cake. Just amazing! Portions were large and I was able to take home 1 soft shell crab which our daughter enjoyed for breakfast! We (actually me) had to have dessert (coconut cake and a creme brulee) which was beautifully presented and just as delicious. Before dinner drinks and a bottle of wine rounded out the dinner. We had a beautiful view of the river, an enjoyable pianist and superb service once again with Calvin. Thank you for a wonderful and perfect evening!
Our meals were fantastic, hot and perfectly prepared. Our waiter, Daniel did a superb job of service. What a delightful evening celebration of my wife's birthday.
Lovely atmosphere. The food is beautifully plated and delicious. Wonderful place to take out of town guests. A classic.
I am usually not a complainer and have been to plenty of upscale restaurants, but my experience at Joe Muer in Detroit was an eye opener. I reserved a dinner for my boyfriend and I for his birthday and we were treated poorly in my opinion.
shortly after my boyfriend had sat down a manager had came over to our table complaining about his attire stating that there is no athletic wear and that we needed to leave. I understand that certain restaurants have rules, but they seen him walk in and said nothing. We then talk to another manager who act as if he understood and had us moved over to the lounge, where there were funny uncomfortable stares. Our waitress took a long time with all of our items that we ordered and I honestly felt that they were courteously disregarding us. My boyfriend and I own multiple businesses and eat out pretty much all the time and this was by far the worse service we ever received. I will be speaking to the corporate office as well.
Our first time to Joe Muer, and it was a great experience. The ambience is romantic and classy. The seafood was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent.
My visit was for a my birthday celebration. The wait staff was awesome, the entertainment was surberb, the food was delish and the evening was fantastic! I always have enjoyed Joe Muers, (remember the Gratiot days?) Will definitely visit again.
I’ve eaten all over the world. This was one if my best dining experiences. Very good service, riverside table was fabulous, and the food was spot-on
Not living up to a fine dining restaurant. Visited from Dallas and Cali and had a drink in the bar and dinner.
Quite noisy and definitely having personal issues. When the bartender (blond, short hair, glasses) is telling me I’m a lier, myself and my customers were shocked. This is after asking for a second round of happy hour at 5.59 pm and she says it’s too late. I show the time and it’s 6.00 pm at that point. I said nicely we tried to wave you down earlier with no luck. That’s when she says I’m a lier . WOW. Shocked and very surprised if that’s how you treat customers.
Left for our table and I later brought up the situation with the manager. He listened and said he was shocked to hear it and appreciated me telling him. However he did not do anything to make us feel better and he didn’t even come up to our table apologizing to us.
Our waiter was ok as long as you are good with them up-selling you on your food and drinks.
It was great dinner
A long time staple in Detroit! Finally made it here ! My grandparents would take my mom to the old original one when she was a kid . Great staff and amazing service and food! Cant wait to go back!
Exceptional service, phenomenal food and a nice view made out special occasion even more special! Fresh not run of the mill seafood dishes (recommend the Dover sole deboned table side and ahi tuna) and their non-seafood dishes (lamb) make this place a step above the rest! Plenty of gluten free options for my daughter. Wait staff was top notch without being stuffy. Very knowledgeable about the menu and show sincere interest in answering your questions and providing recommendations. When we made our reservation we requested a booth by the window that overlooked the water and that’s what we got! Best seats if you can get them! Save room for the coconut cake - like nothing you have had before!
Waiter was outstanding! Great view of the Detroit Rive. Piano music was a nice touch for a romantic evening with my wife and friends who were celebrating their 3 year anniversary.
Simply excellent. I always frequent and they never fail!
For the price the meal was just average. Had a 6lb Lobster that was overpriced and chewy. Might have just been because of the size of the lobster we split, but it wasn’t as tasty and easy to eat as expected. Apps were just average. Ambiance is ok. We were sat far from the piano and the restaurant was more than half empty. I just felt that management and the staff were not challenged and had no incentive to make guests want to return for another meal. I know this is why I am not a regular at this restaurant and hadn’t been back in 5 years and I remembered exactly why after the meal. I won’t be returning again if I can help it.
The atmosphere was awesome. The food was good and the service was superb. They accommodated my husband and I with a window view for our anniversary. My first time will return.
Food was great. Service was great. Mike our waiter was outstanding.
Our server Michael was outstanding. I will make sure that I ask for him when we go back, and we will go back.
We had a wonderful experience for our anniversary dinner. I am going to bring my sister and 4 friends back on May 17th.
Food was delicious and service great!!
Always a great meal and experience. Highly recommend. It’s a family favorite.
Right from the start we felt welcomed. Our server Craig was awesome, he gave suggestions almost like he knew what we wanted. The food...words can't even describe. Have the lobster corn dogs, you won't be disappointed. The Branzino was filleted table side, and dessert, oh my.
