Overall the experience was great. The one issue I had that did not go well was the gritty oysters and mussels. I’m thinking maybe they are out of season.

They didn’t give us a window seat as requested at first, 2 steaks cooked incorrectly for our guests, forgot the potatoes with dinner, never brought out Bday cake for my wife and lastly the bus to Fox Theatre arrived at 6:15pm and we didn’t make it to fox until 5 mins to 7pm when the venue is less than 1 mile away. Terrible experience!

Cheap Head Lettuce was waterlogged with the almost frozen half of a tomato that was called a wedge salad - oh the 1/2 tsp of Blue cheese was run of the mill.
Pride of the House flounder had 0 crab and a side of wilted spinach.
However the oysters Rockefeller were good.
Long wait for food... I observed no one watches what coming out of the kitchen

While staying Detroit for a Convention, we went for what has become an Annual visit to Joe Muer Seafood. We were seated with a lovely view of Detroit's waterfront and perused the diverse cocktail menu. Our trio each selected a different drink which pleased our pallets perfectly (we ordered a second round of the same during the course of the meal).

We all started with soup, my two companions settling for one kind, while I decided to have their trio of soups (a smaller portion of their Lobster Bisque, New England Chowder as well as the soup du jour which happened to be a red seafood chowder). This along with their limited special appetizer of frog legs set the dining off on a very good start. The gentle crisp of tempura coating complimented the texture of the legs.

For the main course I went for the classic lobster, while one of my companions chose the bacon wrapped scallops and the other the coho salmon feature of the evening. Each of us enjoyed our dish as well as the accompanying vegetables & starches.

We made sure to save room for dessert, especially since one of my companions loves coconut (Joe Muer's features a classic coconut cake as their signature dessert). It as well as the creme brule and the seasonal apple cobbler (which was compliment by an amazing vanilla ice cream).

Our server was a delight, the right balance of attentive service and personality. I hope she'll forgive me for forgetting her name as I post this. I highly recommend Joe Muer Seafood and will certainly visit again when I visit Detroit again.

What a delicious dinner! The meal and the service (once seated) were exceptional! I loved the piano player and the overall location of the restaurant with easy valet parking.
What did not like was the cold greeting by the three receptionists. No smiles, no " so happy you selected to dine with us tonight." I felt I was being judged and I felt we were not fairly seated. We arrived early for our reservation by 15 minutes, - no problem we'll wait - but when several others arrived and they were seated before us, and when we were still waiting 15 minutes after our reservation, it felt odd. Yes, it was a bit pricey but the quality of the meal, wonderful included appetizers, a perfect salad, exceptional the table service was certainly worth it. Please try to hire some front desk people who are able to fake a better mood and know how to be welcoming. Why three reception people? They talked more to each other than to the customers. This also caused us to feel they were perhaps, talking about us, and the other customers.

We had dinner at Joe Muer's for my wife's birthday on 10/28/17. Service (Glen) was fine but her $50 Salmon "special" was terrible. Undercooked and bland. They took her plate away with 90% not eaten and didn't even ask. She was too polite and didn't want to hurt my feelings. I felt bad. Very disappointing.

I’ve going to Muer’s since the late 1970’s. Up until this week I’ve never, ever had a bad/disappointing meal until this time. The barramundi was over cooked and dry, the crabmeat was gloppy. The bathroom was unclean and out of mouthwash.

I trust that this was a one off in 40 years of dining.

I usually have a very pleasant experience dining here whether dinner or brunch. Unfortunately this particular time some our food was not cooked all the way through, the credit card used was not charged properly, and the waiter kept using the excuse that this was his first time working during brunch. While I did receive an apology from the manager it would have been nice to have something taken off my bill or something given complimentary for a next visit.

The noise level was high but I expected that. The seating was close to the piano which added to the noise. The lobster was excellent and the waiter helped just enough with the "cracking".

Food was good but a bit pricy. Wine was expensive. Dress code love red from coat & tie to business casual but lots of jeans & golf shirts. Great view but not as classy as when it opened. It got very noisy as a couple large tables were filled.
