Food was good but not great. Had fish tacos as an entree. Mahi was dry, but slathered in guacamole and aioli. Place was dead. Hostess had a unwelcoming and unfriendly manner. Waiter was very nice and attentive. Oysters were good as were crab cakes. As a landmark we wanted to try it, but for us it will be a once in a lifetime visit. There are far more creative restaurants with better atmosphere appearing all over the city who would welcome our business.
I brought my bestfriend here for her birthday and it is now her favorite restaurant. She ordered the halibut chefs special on top of a king crab cake that was to die for! From the bread basket and white bean salad to the desserts and coffee, not to mention the window seat view of the river and Canada, this was a five star experience! Thank you to our waiter Wayne for the added touch of hospitality and eye candy! Truly top notch.
Food was impeccable and the service was great! Nice ambience on the river. Best seafood place in Michigan!
great seafood and fish, expensive, service very attentive, free shuttle
Love the food and the service.
Fabulous! Great for a special occasion. Food, service and the view are top notch.
Terrific food and service- could not have asked for more and the ambiance is wonderful. What could be better than beautiful view of the Detroit River while
Sharing a special meal with friends?
Delicious meal at Joe Muer celebrating a birthday and retirement!! The view is fabulous!
Great food, low noise level, relaxing, live music.. Awesome service!
Food and service was outstanding. The view of the river was amazing
Great service , food was very good
Absolutely amazing restaurant!! Food was outstanding and staff is so friendly and caters to your every need. Beautiful view of
the river too! We will be back there soon!
The food did not meet my expectations. Everything else was great. I will go to Andiamo 's next time.
Great staff outstanding food
What an amazing place for special celebrations! They read my message I had typed when making the online reservation and treated my mother and I VERY special. (When asked what restaurant she wanted to go to, to celebrate her recovery from a months worth of hospital visits/stays, she didn't hesitate to say Joe Muer's!) So special that the waiter presented to both of us, a delicious glass of champagne, on the house, in honor of our celebration. This was my first time at Joe Muer's but will NOT be my last! It was a fantastic evening that all the staff made it feel even more special...Thank You!
We had a wonderful dinner. My only complaint would be the overall cost. I realize when dining here it's not going to be a bargain. But, four people with 1 drink per person.....well I felt the overall bill was a bit high. Food was outstanding!
Everything was beyond what I expected. Just a great experience beginning to end.
Birthday dinner fabulous dinner as always!
Top notch service, ambiance, and the food was exceptional
Our server Wayne was awesome! Surprised my husband for our 20th anniversary and he was extremely satisfied! The food was amazing! Loved it! Look forward to next time!
This was a special occasion for my fiance and I. Will our server was excellent in every facet. His descriptions of the specials were amazing and actually changed my mind as to what I wanted. The food was impeccable and only out shined by the service.
Food and service was terrific, view of the river amazing. Would have enjoyed a booth but they were reserved for larger groups. Entertainment was great, piano player asked us what we would like to here and he was terrific. We had a great time and will return.
THE FOOD AND SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. WAITER WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL.
Delicious food all around. We were seated tucked right next to the piano. It was nice music but SOO loud and difficult to have much conversation amongst the four of us due to that noise as well as everyone else trying to talk over it. Also, piano player was constantly on his phone texting. Very unprofessional.
Excellent food and wonderful atmosphere. two thumbs up.
Thank goodness, Joe Muer's was resurrected! The seafood/fish dishes are varied and delicious, especially, the stuffed barramundi. Fabulous views of the Detroit River and great attentive friendly service by Keith. Parking is validated partially. It is a fine dining and expensive experience.
Great meal, great service! I enjoyed complimentary Bread Basket, Smoked Whitefish Pate and the infamous Joe Muer White Bean relish. My guest had Mussels and I had Oysters Rockefeller for appetizers. We shared a large Martha's vineyard salad and as entrees, she opted for the New York Strip and I had the Lobster/Crab stuffed Berrimundi, we shared Blue Crab/Cheddar potatoes..........so Good! Thanks Joe Muer Seafood for a great meal!
We were seated at a river front table and truly enjoyed the view. We received exceptional service from Calvin and celebrated my husband’s birthday.
My wife and I decided to try Joe Muir Seafood Detroit the other weekend. The restaurant was very nice inside with a nice bar, raw bar and various seating amenities. The wait staff was dressed in white tuxedo coats and red bow ties. Our waitress was Amanda and she was fantastic; I would highly recommend asking for her. She provided samples of wines to help with our decision making process and oysters to try before ordering them. Excellent wine selection (ask for the reserve list if you would like some very nice wines) and liquor selection. My wife had one of the specials (sorry can't remember what the fish was...similar to dover sole) and it was very good; buttery and rich. I had the Ahi Tuna and while the dish was good, I was expecting more from the dish. It lacked a salt and general seasoning. Again, while the dish was good, it left me wanting more.
Overall, it was a nice dinner for my wife and I. While the dinner was very expensive, (over $300 w. $100 bottle of wine), I would try the restaurant again. I think Amanda made up for the slight lack of flavor of the food.
Love Joe Muers, only problem I had was we were celebrating a Birthday and after spending over $200 there was nothing offered a slice of cake, pie.
Always fantastic food and service. Great shuttle ride to and from Little Caesars Arena.
The food was good; the service was excellent. Price was about right.
The service, food and ambiance were good. My lobster Reuben was a little dry and probably could have used more Thousand Island dressing but the meal was good and the staff was very accommodating.
First time there and my experience was nothing short of amazing. From beginning to end. And the food was perfect. I think i love the chef lol. But we will be back.
Our Daughters Birthday was not acknowledged! My husbands food was awful, they did charge us, but the first Delmonico was over cooked, the replacement steak quality was unspeakable!
GreAt place and amzing food
Impressed is not even close to describe the experience. The service we received from the front desk staff to the wait staff was exceptional. Chantal our server was amazing. The food was spectacular, and the ambiance wonderful. We will be back.
Excellent food and deserts
Loved the venue....vibrant! Person at desk was a bit abrupt. Before my husband could even take his coat off she firmly told him he had to remove his hat. :(Which he was going to do.
Staff was helpful. Had a big party and made a point of telling us ahead of time.
