Great service and yummy food.. highly recommended 👍
The food was not great, I had the lobster bisque and flavor was too strong, the fried calamari was too grease, and the sauce for the lamb chops was too salty. My wife had the wedge salad and it was very simple in flavor.
The chocolate soufflé was not great, seems like those you buy at the supermarket and warmer up in the microwave.
Honestly I was not happy with the quality of the food, I had high expectations and they felt short. First and last time I visit this restaurant.
Ambiance, service and view are great but food is a big fail
Great The service was excellent.
Waitress was great and very knowledgeable of the menu.
Drinks were great and very timely.
Overall great experience.
We had an amazing experience! Glenn was our serving expert and he was one of the best! He made the evening fun, light, informed and we will be back soon! Thank you!
Love Joe’s - will continue to go there with family friends and business associates
The food was cold and the potatoes were half done. Our server was efficient and offered to get a new order but we declined because we were short on time. I was not impressed with the taste of the food however our drinks were nice.
Everything was amazing. Our service was outstanding. Very LGBT friendly. I was there with my girlfriend and unlike other places not a single person batted an eye. Our view of the river was amazing. Food was outstanding and fresh. Staff went above and beyond making it special for us.
Wayne was an amazing waiter and made our celebration awesome.
The food was amazing and we had a great table with a amazing veiw of the river. The service was outstanding. Thank you Walter for a amazing experience.
Very attentive and helpful waiter. Food is on par with other positive reviews I have read. Exceptional.
Joe Muer’s is a Detroit classic! The food is outstanding. It is not inexpensive, but it is worth the price if you consider the entire experience. The view along the Detroit River is beautiful. The service — provided to us this time by Eddie, is impeccable. We recommend asking for a window table not just for the view, but because you are not completely surrounded by other tables.
We ordered the crab ball appetizer and it was to die for. Our luncheon meals included fish and chips and a lobster roll for the second diner. Both were delicious. Mashed potatoes are outstanding. We ordered a side of coleslaw to share, and had enough for five people. Yes, we took some home. It was a birthday celebration, and the restaurant provided a lovely after dinner dessert for the birthday girl at no charge. Very classy. We would highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion, or for fine dining anytime. You will not be disappointed!
I went for my birthday on the 6th, my friend ordered a fish, then they came and told her about 20min later it wasnt there, she ordered something else that she didnt really want, then someone spilled water all over her dress without so much as a sorry let me get her a dessert or something from a manager and I just felt like our server was doing a spill instead of really reading his table and seeing what we were in the mood for. Just telling us about the most expensive menu items when had he looked he wouldve noticed we liked cocktails and drinks, so he should've tried to upsell us on drinks. My friend left with a soaked dress in the cold, so I didnt have the best birthday, dont think I'll be returning, should've kept our reservations at Eddie vs like we were going to do in the 1st place. Drinks and food were nice, overall experience for my birthday, not so much.
Food was delicious, the server described everything we asked. We were seated right by the piano, though, and while it wasn't loud, it was sometimes hard to hear each other. Great view, and the dessert cart was incredible!
Joe Muer is a great dinning experience! I order several sushi rolls and was very impressed. The food, atmosphere, and service was impeccable.
My son's 18th birthday. It was a dinner prior to the Red Wings game and was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
It was my boyfriend birthday it was excellent great service. But they should give a special desert for people birthdays.
I had a wonderful experience. Having Coat Check was very thoughtful, seeing how it was a very cold afternoon. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious.
Excellent service and great food! And the great views over the Detroit River create an awesome experience.
Always great food. Service. The addresses may change over the years but the restaurant holds up to the Joe Muer name.
Always spot on. Delicious!
As they were pouring our water, we noticed a bug was in the water. Our server Dawn, was standing there as was the guy pouring the water. He immediately took the glass and replaced it. I also mentioned it to the manager when he came over and asked how everything was. “Fine besides the bug in the water” At restaurant such as Joe Muer I wouldn’t expect to see this. We got the check $230. 00 nothing was taken off the bill. It would’ve been nice had dessert and offered to us as a comp. I was very disappointed.
Two of us had whitefish for lunch, and we each had a bowl of soup. Mine, lobster bisque, was far from the best lobster bisque I have ever had. Quite tomato-y and with an acidic edge. Not at all what I want in a lobster bisque. I almost could not taste the lobster. My partner's clam chowder was tasty. The whitefish was nicely cooked and tasted very fresh. We each had a glass of beer with dinner and a cup of coffee after dinner. We shared one serving of coconut cake, which was very tasty. However, I have had comparable meals in other restaurants in the Detroit area and Ann Arbor for far less than the $101+ dollars we spent. The service was good and attentive, but also not better than what we have experienced in other, less pricey, restaurants. The view of the riverfront was lovely but not $100 lovely.
Alyssa was the best server I’ve ever had there and have been there many times. She went over and beyond to make our experience the best ever!!!
We had a wonderful time at Joe Muer. From the valet and coat check to our wait staff and bussers, we were met with warm smiles and that extra special something. The cocktails were deliciously strong. Our appetizers were delicious as well as the lobster bisque. Our meals were so tantalizing, that we were sharing!! We ended with creme brulee. My parents said it was one of the best meals they've had.
Our waitress Jessica was wonderful. I will request her next time I go.
First time at the restaurant. Sat at the bar for drinks and sushi. Everything was great! Casey was super nice and attentive. Definitely highly recommend going!
Everything was great.
Just let me tell you, this was an absolute gem of a place. My husband and I went there for our anniversary and not only did our waiter (Keith) make it something special for us (by adding personal touches here and there) but he also made it his mission to help gather information for the local night life as well. I absolutely would recommend this place to both family and friends without hesitation and can't wait to go back.
Great service! Thank you to our sever Nico for the great suggestions.
Wow what a pretty place. Great ambience and river front view. Food is spectacular with alot of delicious seafood specials.. and mouth watering steaks. We will be back soon.
Food was good. Server was quite pushy at the beginning, hovering constantly and always suggesting the most expensive options on wine, etc. suggested we get the $24.00 a glass of wine when we ordered the $12.00 glass because he didn’t think we would like the flavor profile. Pushed for us to order immediately when we just wanted to relax awhile and take our time. They were not busy and did not need the table. Once he realized we weren’t going with his suggestions, he got an attitude and stayed away but by then our evening was off on the wrong foot. Valet ticket would not validate in the machine so ended up paying $25.00 for parking. With so many new and exciting restaurant options in Detroit we will be in no hurry to go back to Joe Muers.
Good stuff, impeccably fresh seafood. There were shell fragments in my oysters on the half shell, and sand in my scallops and the chowder. Service was wonderful, incomparable view, and heavenly house cocktails.
Sara are server was attentive, courteous, and very accommodating!!’
Wait staff is attentive and professional. Food was delicious. The room is beautiful with large windows overlooking the Detroit River. Singer/pianist was terrific. The experience was really fine dining, with table side preparation for one of our dishes.
First time and our experience was absolutely fabulous. Our server, Nico, was professional and caring. Food was delicious and view spectacular!
An excellent dining experience. Outstanding food and service, if a bit over-priced.
Our waiter Bob helped make our date night out a very special occasion and ensured that we will have many more wonderful experiences at Joe Muer. Most excellent!
Went on out anniversary . Food and service where the best id experienced in Detroit ... sadly we where seated next to a group of 6 people how where loud and abnoxious to the extent of almost regretted it... but the food and service was great. The waterfront scenery was great. Pricey but worth it.
