We hope they do reopen. Greensleeves has been one of our favorite Redlands restaurants for nearly 30 years.
Restaurant was closed due to a fire. When I called I got a recording. Open Table had no idea. Good thing I checked or I would have shown up. I ended up at Citrone, a mediocre overpriced bistro.
I really enjoyed dining here and the restaurant is very clean, comfy and just a really nice atmosphere. It was a little pricey and the servings are not that large so that was one questionable aspect. But I will likely return again. The duck gnocchi was outstanding and the lobster ravioli was perfect! Desserts were great also!
The ambience was great, the food was excellent, had a wonderful experience.
Met a friend from LA for lunch. We came from Palm Desert. Picked Joe Greensleeves off the internet for a spot in between our locations. All four of us were very happy with our choice. The food was great, the atmosphere was perfect for chatting with an old friend and his wife. Service was friendly and good. We all would recommend Joe Greensleeves to friends.
Great wine list. Excellent chef's specials. Courteous and attentive servers.
We celebrated my husbands birthday here. Moses was an exceptional waiter and the food was the best ever. His 90 year old mother was impressed we will return!
Memo is an amazing chef! My steak was cooked to perfection! They made my birthday dinner perfect!!
It has been over 20 years since my wife and I visited. And it was once very good. But no longer.
The decor has not changed but it was always very nice so the atmosphere was good. Our waiter said he had been there for 24 years. It would help if he would retire. No enthusiasm or personalty. He just went through the routine. And the prime filet I had was not good. I am positive I could get a better steak at Denny's or Coco's. No imagination on the wine list. Their best wine glass is on the small size so even if there was a good bottle on the list, it would be a shame with only one glass. Very disappointing. Looking at current reviews I thought they were describing a different restaurant. We will never go back but a shame the place has fallen so low.
Delightful dining experience. Well priced wines and well prepared food.
This was our first visit to Greensleeves, it won't be our last. The ambience was great and the service was excellent. The Italian entrees were very good and they have a great wine list. The restaurant is not too large and has a very classy atmosphere.
The food was phenomenal and the price is not bad at all. I'm going back. The service was awsome thanks to Sheamus who was very respectful and made our visit worth every penny. I will be returning.
Waiter never checked on us, we had to constantly get his attention , never asked about food, waited after done eating , for someone to ask us if we wanted desert, finaly I got up and asked if we could have desert. There were only 5 tables with customers, waiter didn't seem to care for us. He was in the back talking with someone the entire time, I live local , will never be back.
Amazing.... intimate and great food....do not skip dessert
We celebrated our 29th anniversary here and everything was perfect- the food, service and a table by the fireplace A wonderful neighborhood gem
Great time meeting the prospective inlaws. Our server was just wonderful,
and we appreciated the way he covered every one of our needs without
being obtrusive. The food was delicious and in many cases very unique.
We enjoyed the delicate crab cakes for appetizers, as well as the cocktails.
The ambience was exceptional. The food excellent, equal to any place I have experienced globally. It is nice to have a place you can trust for those important business dinners in which attention to detail is critical.
I took my lady here for our first date, and we've been dating ever sense. Our waiter, Moses, was the best. Can you exactly when to come and wait on us, and when to hold back. They stayed open extra late for us and still offered us dessert. Would recommend this place to anybody, for any occasion.
Super neighborhood find! Heart of downtown but small and quiet. Great ambiance, food was superb. Lots of choices on the wine list. Table favorite was soup of two soups and the butternut squash ravioli appetizer, but we loved everything. Will be back again. Make reservations so you know you can get a spot in this local gem!
This restaurant is a gem- a place you can go for a special occasion and enjoy an elegant meal an service. It keeps getting better
We enjoyed dinner for two. The tables for two by the wall are rather small, however the food was great.
Thin, fatty ribeye. $35 Denny's breakfast steak. So thin, it couldn't be done rare. Chef annoyed when we sent it back. Wanted to argue. Forced to upgrade to Filet to get rare steak.
Double-charged for desert
The food is fantastic and the service is better! I wanted to try a different restaurant this time for her birthday but she insisted on coming back to Joe Greensleeve's and we did not regret it. It was fantastic as always. We live in Chino so it’s a bit of a drive for us but wroth every mile. If we lived closer we would come more often.
You people that live in Redlands or nearby are lucky to have such a fine restaurant in your neighborhood.
Great food great staff BUT understaffed Not enough help
My wife and I tend to split everything and drink tap water, yet we received excellent service with great attitude. Naturally the food was amazing, just as last time.
We have now been here for both lunch and dinner. It has become one of our all time favorites and the lobster ravioli is the best I have ever had.
We were greeted promptly when we walked through the door and were shown right to our reserved table. Our server was very nice and informative. The food was delicious especially the pork chop (special for the day). The crab cakes were very fresh. But not really worth $12. We plan to come back for our next special occasion.
My lady friend recommended "Joe's" a while back and we've returned on several occasions. The atmosphere is perfect for the two of us. Friendly, gracious and courteous staff. Very reasonably priced for the meal and the experience. A wonderfully "cozy" environment.
I had some gift certificates to Joe Greensleeve's and, to be honest, was dreading using them. My wife and I split entrees and don't drink wine, and I hate "split charges" and endless pressure to order expensive drinks. I needn't have worried. The wait staff was fantastic, and they responded very positively to our needs. They split the salad and entree (very generously, at that) with no sign of a split charge. We greatly enjoyed ourselves and will certainly be back on a regular basis.
Comfortable dining room.
Interesting nicely prepared appetizers, the "wild boar sausage" was something I'd never had before, I would order it again.
All entrees were properly done and attractively presented.
Service was attentive without being intrusive. I would definitely return.
Have been planning on eating here for years, but never seemed to make it as they aren't open regular hours. Tried quite a few things on the menu. The Greensleeves appetizer, a chili stuffed with venison was delicious, as were the bacon wrapped scallops. Ordered the surf and turf entree, steak rare. My steak was slightly over but not by much, the Dijon sauce was tasty. Thought the garnish could have used a little more seasoning but this may be must a personal preference. Was very satisfied overall.
I've dined at Joe Greensleeve's since 1986 and have always found it consistent in quality and service. This evening I had the filet in a brandy peppercorn sauces which was cook to perfection.
Shamus was our server and as always a delight. Very knowledgeable on the wine and specialty
items and his service is always great.
Dinner was unsatisfactory. My salmon was overdone, the sauce uninterestingly bland, and the vegetables undercooked. A scampi dish was the worst presentation we've ever encountered. No imagination was shown. It was a dull reddish brown and the seasoning drab. Service was essentially indifferent verging on condescension. We'll never return.
My wife wanted a filet mignon and a nice cab for dinner. There really are few choices locally. This was a great find.
My husband and I were celebrating our 41st anniversary and wanted somewhere really special. Since we were there to go to a concert at the Morongo, we wanted the best we could find. I was anticipating a great experience, but honestly, it was beyond my expectations! the service was top notch! Every waiter there was very hospitable, friendly, accommodating and excellent service! The food (I had the duck) was the best I've ever tasted. Cooked PERFECT! Though there wasn't as many choices on the menu, Who needs that many choices??? Everything we ordered was divine! The chocolate cake was so good and tasty, it melted in your mouth. What can I say but, a perfect 10 or I think 100!!! When we are in town, we will always go there and have a great dinner, again. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants the perfect night out experience.
My wife and celebrated a 37 year anniversary. The dinner menu was small but well balanced. The orange duck was probably the best I had ever had. The rib eye steak was prepared perfectly. Plate presentation was very nice. Isaiah our waiter was well versed in the menu selections. Very professional and polite. Overall a great experience.
Desserts were the only thing that needed to be spruced up. They were a bit ordinary compared to the entrees. Everything else was very special.
Moses was our waiter and he did a great job taking care of us. Dealing with a group having a meeting presented its challenges and he handled it all with the appropriate attentiveness and a great sense of humor.
The selection of food was fantastic! There is a standard menu presented and then several other options provided by the waiter. It is apparent the menu changes often so you won't get bored coming to this restaurant. They had a good selection of wine. I noticed another patron had brought his own and I'm sure was just charged a corkage fee. Desert was wonderful and there were several items to choose from here as well.
Service was a bit on the slow side. Our waiter took a little longer than I would have liked coming to our table. When he did come he told us the specials and although I was ready to order our wine, he said he would be back for our drink order. He came back a little later and I gave him our drink order and asked for an appetizer as well. He said he would get the drinks and come back for the food order. Haha I felt a little scolded at this point and realized I needed to allow him to serve me on his timeline not mine. The desert waiter was friendly and prompt :)
Overall the experience was good and I will definitely eat at Joe Greensleeve's again.
Outstanding food and service. Duck L'orange is outstanding as was the Halibut Special..,
