Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House
Service and ambiance were amazing! This is definitely not a steakhouse. I would go back for appetizers and seafood. But streaks were very plain no flavor and undercooked.
For a variety of seasonal dishes, I'd recommend this place. The fish and seafood choices were fresh and properly prepared.
Staff was fantastic! Food was good. Prices are high but were worth it!
Always love coming here! Food and service is sublime.
After being seared on that it - thank you; Shannon moved us to an even greater table upon request and proceeded to make my love for Joes to remain unchanged.
I experienced very poor service this time and was extremely disappointed. To the point where we ended up just having appies and then going somewhere else for the meal. This was my birthday celebration and I was so saddened.

Very nice dinner and excellent service! The lobster oil is the only skip, otherwise outstanding 😁
Our anniversary! James was as always a perfect servwr
All good but was hoping for a little piece of birthday cake for my friend to celebrate her birthday!
Frankly, I consider this restaurant overrated - but it's clearly popular and locals obviously think it's one of the best in town. We had the full seafood platter, which looks impressive (as it should be for the price). Most of the items are hot (or warm) on arrival, but this gives the problem that they cool down quickly and items eaten later are therefore cold and somewhat greasy. Ambience is great - we sat on the patio upstairs - and the service is fine (but just the level one would expect, nothing spectacular).
Excellent staff and hospitality!
Excellent waitress. Food and wine was good. Overall worth the visit.
I took relatives visiting from England out to dinner and they loved it. I have been to this restaurant off and on for many years and always enjoy it very much. Excellent service and food!
Amazing service and delicious food in a long standing Vancouver restaurant. Wide selection of food for brunch and dinner. Try any of the seafood dishes and you won't be disappointed. Exceptional!
The food used to be great but over the last year it seems to be going down hill still okay but not great anymore. We get our food extremely quickly after ordering but the food is never hot just warm. On our last brunch order the shrimp were over cooked and cold almost like the meal was made ahead of time and just assembled before serving.
Rare lunch with both my daughters.
Great food and service with a excellent price.
Service was outstanding.
Food was well presented.
Seating quickly. Great Service and food. Enjoyed the piano during brunch.
Joe Forces is a great place for a meal! The atmosphere is energetic, with a great live pianist. The food was excellent with good portion sizes. Two thumbs up!
Food quality and service is always consistent and good. I do find this to be a little pricey, however having consistent quality is well worth the additional dollars! We sat upstairs and I did find this area to be quite noisy not great for trying to discuss business.
We discovered the restaurant ten years ago and found it awesome. We went back and were still flabbergasted.
Seafood Platter for 2 tastes very good. Presentation average. Pass on the seafood chowder, poor to average in taste and presentation.
Great venue. Three different seating sections main restaurant, bar area over looking the street, and patio. It is a well managed concept and good food. In the other hand, it is on the pricey side and the host is not as friendly as she should be. Over all it is a must visit iconic restaurant.
Vacation in Vancouver led my wife and I to this great spot. Fantastic and very relaxing service from Mike. Fresh seafood, including amazing oysters. Top notch cocktails and extensive wine list. Finished the evening with a unique take on Key Lime pie Great energy in the room. Piano player at 6 that evening. This place elevated the term ‘Saloon Gourmet’
Waiter was just a lovely man with a broad smile & a skip in his step: hold onto him. He was understanding of my gluten allergy & accommodated my request for half portions of my two favourites on the menu!! Sorry, I don’t know his name but kudos to him, thank for for making my birthday lunch special . Always love the live music also!!!
Service was excellent, friendly and genuine. The food portions were very good. Eating on the patio was a great experience and then we moved over to the bar. Drinks were a little pricey. My wife ordered the gnocchi and found them much too doughy, garlicky and not authentic at all. Overall a very enjoyable experience except for the gnocchi. Would come back again
The selection was fabulous, the taste and temperature of the food was amazing. The noise level certainly got louder as the evening progressed. And the temperature of the room was a bit high.
lived up to all high expectations. Worth its top billing.
Best Happy Hour in the city! Great Service. looking forward to our next Happy hour at Joe Fortes!
The food was excellent and the server Jonas was super friendly and helpful. The only complaint I would have is in regards to the noise level. We we're situated in the main area on the ground floor and it was quite loud.
Always an enjoyable experience. My son’s favourite restaurant.
Best server and food in Vancouver! Lovely dining experience on the roof top patio with Mirela (fantastic server!). We had fried pickles (to die for) as an app, peppercorn ahi tuna and fish and chips- best in town! Well done by all and we will be back
Service was great, food was not, mediocre for the price. Lobster was overcooked, dry and hard. Bone in rib eye steak was cooked to the order, but the quality of the beef itself was poor, too many tendon makes it very hard to chew and swallow. The kale that came with the miso sablefish was too salty and oily. Overall, for the price I could have get better value and quality from many other places. Disappointed.
Brunch on the patio. Beautiful day. Great food and terrific service from Matt
The food was great. The atmosphere was loud and busy, though it was a Friday night. We had a toddler with us. They were kid tolerant (they had high chairs and a kids menu) but I wouldn't say it was kid friendly (not a place to have an energetic toddler who needs to walk around).
I am always looking for a new restaurant to take spoil my. I have enjoyed many of Vancouvers excellent restaurants but somehow always overlooked Joe Fortes. No longer. JF’s has gone to the top of my list of fav dining spots. Bohemian but classy, sophisticated but chill. Can’t wait to return and work my way through the food delicious menu and sample more of the wines .
