It was an amazing experience! Nothing but excellent service and it was quieter then usual because of covid which made it even nicer! It was Father’s Day for my fiancé so we decided to celebrate and it was well worth the visit. Food came out really fast and was delicious

Three of us had dinner here, it was our first visit. Obviously we were intrigued by the history and reviews of this restaurant. The good - the service was very good throughout from everyone. The ambiance was fun, and cozy. The food, however, was disappointing. The seafood platter was not fresh and VERY expensive. We ordered one bone in rib eye to share between two of us. It was $69 and not worth that. The cut was very thin and not good quality. The beef tasted bland and the side dishes (Brussels sprouts, potatoes) were average, at best. Most troubling was that both my boyfriend and I were sick the next day, so something was clearly off. It was very expensive, the food was not great and I’m guessing there was a lot of corner cutting when it comes to the food. We definitely won’t be back.

My wife and I always make plans for a dinner at Joe Fortes every time we go to Vancouver. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff friendly and the food is always good
Even though there was less diners due to Covid, we found that the service was very slow. Our server lacked the quality of service we are used to at Joe Fortes.

Fantastic to go back to Fortes now it is open. Bit strange with new pandemic protocol but you do get used to it. Great service overall 5 stars.
Crab cakes are a must. The sauce with it is incredible.

It is just so nice to be out and socializing again and Joe Fortes didn’t disappoint. The food was fantastic, the service was impeccable and me and my party had a wonderful night out.

Limited table set up due to COVID-19, all in all in general is good. Just hoping restaurants can be back to normal soon so eating atmosphere is more like eating in a restaurant instead of too quiet ... to tell the truth, it’s kind of wired for the server only serve our table.

We were thrilled to be able to be among the first guests of your restaurant reopening. It is our downtown favourite and We had a guest in from Calgary and it is his go to restaurant when in town, so it was a win for all of us.
Although the atmosphere and noise level are different, the food and service was outstanding as always.
Lock down has been difficult on everyone but our first dine out experience was exceptional.

Food quality is amazing as always. Never disappoints
We took our friends from Japan here their first night in Vancouver (their honeymoon). We all loved it! Oysters the Crab Cake and Tuna Tartar for appies, then Sable Fish, Salmon and Steak entrees followed by a Creme Brule dessert. The Server was fantastic and we all left with smiles on our faces. If you're looking for a great spot to celebrate something special put Joe Fortes on your list!
The food is always great at JF and it was a bonus for them to open up the “blue” lunch menu for every weekday. It was a bit disappointing that the server was too busy to manage all his tables so there were delays in taking our drink order and then delay in n our food order. A bit pricy for glass of wine or beer. Great wine menu but limited draft beers.

As always outstanding first class service and foods although a tad steep on pricing
The food was incredible. The oysters, the salad and the dessert really shined. The 26 ounce bone in was cooked just right. Ambience is second to none and our server was A+. My only complaint was we were really snuggly/tightly fit it in with our table. And one of the four guests was constantly bumped from another guest at a close table. But all in all, this restaurant is a must.
Blue Plate Special is special indeed. I highly recommend Panko Crusted Haddock!
