My husband and I were celebrating a few things and this restaurant was perfect for the special occasion. The food was tasty and was plated so nicely. After a each bite we would try to explain to each other all the flavors we experienced. Service was outstanding for us! The waitstaff was extremely attentive and made our meal and visit very pleasant. We will definitely be going back to joan's in the Park!
Excellent dinner and service August 14th. Food and all the samples had such incredible tastes! One of our favorites!!
Really enjoyed the restaurant. Excellent recommendation for wine from the waiter. Service was wonderful and the food was very interesting but excellent. Good for adventurous eaters. Maybe not for those with plain taste.
I’m not sure what impressed us the most, the friendly service—host and servers—including Joan greeting us at the door, or the food and cocktails. Chef Susan came table side to deliver plates and check on how we liked the meal. In between course delicious little bits. Joan’s in the Park is solace for the stomach and the soul!
After we first step foot in the restaurant, it took several minutes for them to prepare our table. After we were seated and got our drinks, the waiter took a long time before he asked what we wanted to eat. Flavors were decent. Small but unique selection of food. The salmon was OK. The sauces were good.
We had a fabulous experience. The outside is unassuming and almost made us shy away, but inside is a lovely setting with a true dining experience delivered with care from the owner and staff.
Very attractive re-decorating and approachable, but creative, new prix fixe menu. Food executed flawlessly and attentive and welcoming, but professional staff.
I met a friend for dinner. We both loved the 4 course tasting menu. All courses were well prepared and presented. The wait staff was courteous and efficient. Both of us will definitely return and recommend Joan's to friends.
We recently returned from a trip to France and throughly enjoyed the fine dining. What a surprise to find a restaurant in the Twin Cities that compares to any that we enjoyed in France. Very simply said: Joan’s is impeccable in welcoming, hospitality, service, presentation and of course the food.
The food was extraordinary, the staff was friendly and efficient, and the service was outstanding.
The lovely little tastes and warm hospitality of Joan’s make every visit amazing. We love this place!
This is one of the very best restaurants in the US and can compete with virtually any in the world. I come here every time I come to St. Paul and am always impressed.
Wonderful dinner. Service was great! I would highly recommend Joan's for anyone looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion.
This was our first visit and everything was excellent. We will definitely return and highly recommend to others. Really like the 4 course concept with many choices for each serving and just the right amount.
Four star service two star food. You order five course from a fixed menu ($62), and there were a couple amuse bouches in between. We were promptly seated for our reservation and the bourbon old fashioned I had was delicious. Great server. It wasn't very busy for our 5:30 Wednesday visit. Food was just meh. Beautiful presentation. But small portions that lacked flavor. Maybe it's the style but for what you pay I want everything to jump out at me and be crazy delicious. I'm fine with small portions if they are so tasty and amazing that I'm left wanting more. The first course I had was rabbit with a jelly on top which was weird. The attic char was good but for the price I want great. My wife described her pork as boring. Even the amuse bouches were meh. We discussed dessert but based on the food we passed expecting the same tame result. It was fun to try but we won't be back.
We enjoyed a fine four course meal for our anniversary. This was our first time at Joan’s. The service was excellent with our server being very attentive, and the chef stopping by with samples and Joan herself delivering tastes of this or that as well as a complimentary aperitif for our special occasion. A memorable dining experience.
Always a lovely experience. My 86 year old mother particularly enjoys it.
Service was excellent! Food was excellent! I would definitely recommend for a special occasion!
Classic, well done food with a modern twist. Everyone working there seemed to love their job, and that sense of joy was passed on the guests. The food was delicious. We will definitely go back.
Where do I start! The best service! 4 course meal- with small courses, but both my wife and I were almost full by the time the 4th course came. Everything was an explosion of flavor! The cost of the bill was well worth the experience! The waiter and the owners were so personable that you want them to become family. The squash puree was unbelievable! I don't care what you order (there are 4 courses with 4 choices for each course) it is going to be a wonderful experience for you! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A SPECIAL NIGHT OUT AT "JOAN'S IN THE PARK"! (I as a guy did not notice, but my wife said, "If they just did this or that with the decorating. Yadi yadi yada... as Seinfeld would say)
The food and service were excellent, as usual. We've gone there for our last three anniversaries. But they have gone to a prix fixe menu, which I don't like. Takes too long, and my wife couldn't find anything under column 1 that she liked.
What a fabulous patio! So inviting and pleasant.
The new menu was fantastic! Joan's is truly a neighborhood gem. The service is the best and the food is outstanding. Love the new MENU!
Took a friend for a birthday dinner and they did a wonderful job of making it special. The food, ambiance and staff were fabulous.
Always outstanding - that why we keep going back. Joan & company do an excellent job.
One of the best restaurants in the country! Love these fine people!
The new menu is transcendent! All four course offerings looked wonderful. It was hard for my wife and I to pick only two from each. The staff is friendliest in the Twin Cities restaurant scene. We have been to Joan’s many times and will not stop going anytime soon.
I have been a patron of Joan's in the Park since it opened and have always enjoyed my visits. The new menu is wonderful. The various combinations allowed each of us to customize our meal. I'm looking forward to trying more of the new menu items. As always, our server offered perfect descriptions of each menu item and selected wines well-suited to our food selections.
We always enjoy going to Joan's. We know the food will be well prepared and the service will be great. We tried the new menu and was pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to another visit soon.
Joan’s in the Park has been one of my favorite restaurants since the first time I ate there. The recent menu change from a “regular” menu to the set menu with choices within each of 4 courses was little disappointing and fairly high priced. I prefer the old menu.
the menu is extremely limited- not the same as what is online.
They have a new 4 course menu and it was outstanding! Loved the salmon tartar
Pork ribs was melt in your mouth- delicious❤️
As always, Joan's is a great place to go for special food and service. From the owner's greeting at the door, to the server's attentiveness, to the new menu of interesting choices (now set up as four four course meals - mix and match or choose a la carte), to the chef checking to be sure meal is to your liking - Joan's is a wonderful experience. Will be back soon.
The restaurant went through a remodel and when they reopened they also changed the menu format. It is a 4 course "tasting"menu. I miss the old format. The food was different but good. Too expensive now with having the set price. The location and service are good. Good wine list. My husband tends to be a pickier eater and so the unique choices were not the best for him.
Dinner was fabulous! Neighborhood gem!
I've heard about Joan's in the Park for a few years and had attempted to try it several times. I am so glad I did. My nephew joined me for the 4 course dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed the plates we ordered. The filet melted in his mouth; my pork loin chop was very favorable with an awesome sauce. I have already told several people about the restaurant and plan to invite family and friends in the very near future. Not only was the food exceptional but the service was amazing. The waiter was personable and accommodating.
We enjoyed the food very much.
The ambiance was lovely and the attention to detail, outstanding.
Fabulous meal, lovely people - we had a marvelous time!
Fantastic first experience! The service and the food/drinks were spot on. We loved the four course menu style. Truly wonderful. Can’t wait to go back!
It was a fun experience. This was our first visit. We will return.
We had been talking about going to Joans for well over a year and we were finally able to coordinate and make a reservation
4 course was one delicious bite after the other
Praises to the Chef for not only beautiful presentation but wonderful in taste....
Customer service was friendly and efficient
We will be back............looking forward to our next visit
